Although sized as 'newborn to three month old baby', my experience with this type of dress is that it continues to grow with the child, fitting it until becomes too short. It is also one of the longer dresses in this size range.
Made in a very pale pink, this bishop yoke dress has a full length back opening which makes it simple to dress and undress baby. It might look tiny but there is a great deal of elasticity in the smocked yoke. So too with the smocking on the cuffs, they may look narrow in the photo but they are wider than they appear and very elastic.
The neckline is decorated with a chain of embroidered 'Grub roses' in a deeper pink shade. On the skirt of the dress are three rows of pin-tucking.
Nape to hem, the length of this dress is 39cm.
The smocking design is an attractive zig-zag patern in a deeper pink, maroon and grey. The same pattern in miniature decorates the sleeves which are trimmed with a narrow band of white nylon lace.
As I remember, babies have a tendency to open their fingers wide when you are putting their arms into dress sleeves. So, because of the smocked cuff and potential problems putting baby's hand through, it would be a good idea to put a pair of mittens on baby's hands before putting on this dress.
This dress is made of a pure polyester fabric and might not be suitable for baby on a very hot day.
