Chapter Seven

Clark wiped his mouth, he had thrown up non stop for the last five minutes and felt like he had emptied out his stomach completely. He didn't know whether that was a good thing or a bad thing, but he felt that he had gotten enough out that the pill must have come out with it.

He stood up and stretched, feeling a little light headed he leaned his hand against a tree and steadied himself. “Okay, skitso-boy, it's time to get back to the campfire so you can rescue your friends.”

He began to walk back and felt a new found strength enter his body. He must have gotten the pill out, either that or his body couldn't break down its supplements and he was left with just puking up the kryptonite portion of it. Either way, he was happy it was over. He began to jog.

Upon reaching the campfire, he stood on the outskirts of the woods, looking in on the clearing in the woods. He saw chloe skipping around, Pete laying unconscious on the ground next to the other sophomore boys who were trying to rouse him, and Derek hitting on Lana. Wait…hitting on her? He watched as Derek slung his arm around her shoulders and talked to her, she turned to face him and it looked like they were about to kiss. A jealous rage furiated inside of him, but it passed when Lana slapped him.

He laughed, and then began to walk towards them.

“Not so fast young man,” a voice said behind him. Uh oh, Clark thought, is that who I think it is? He turned slowly and came face to face with gabe Sullivan. He jumped and Mr. Sullivan crossed his arms, “Clark, are you drunk.”

Clark stood up straight, “Uh, no sir. I don't do that stuff.”

Gabe nodded slowly and unbelievingly, “Right, that's why you didn't just puke for the last five minutes.” Clark gulped as he realized he hadn't been alone. He wondered how long he had been watching him. Now he almost wished he was drunk. “Take me to my daughter,” he said.

Clark shook his head, “They're going to think I betrayed them. How about I go in and you come after me in five minutes.”

Gabe sighed, “You wouldn't want them thinking you betrayed them. Well, alright. But hurry up.”

Clark nodded and jogged into the clearing. Lana ran towards him, “Clark!” she stopped and felt a little dizzy, “Whoa! I thought I only knew one Clark! But I see three! Ooooh the more the better.” She began walking to one of the Clark's that wasn't him and tried to hug him, but she ended up grabbing at thin air and she almost toppled to the ground if Clark hadn't caught her.

“Easy Lana, you're drunk,” Clark said, standing her upright.

She swayed gently and stared at him with a dumb smile, “Is this what it feels like to be drunk? I like it. Hey clark, do you like weird science?”

“Ooooh! Sponge bob!” Chloe screamed.

Clark momentarily looked at her and then looked back at lana, “Weird science?”

Lana nodded dumbly, “Yeah, Clark, where ya been man?” She bopped him over his head and began laughing. “Oh well, farm boys can't know everything.” She turned around and tried to walk back to the camp fire, where the boys had begun playing blackjack again.

“Whoa, Lana, not so fast. Don't go back there, they might make you drink more.”

Lana turned back around and focused her eyes, “Oh, come on Clark! Please? Pretty please? I haven't had this much fun in a long time.” She stomped her foot down, “Come on! You never let me do anything fun.”

Clark raised an eyebrow, “We just made out! Wasn't that fun.”

Lana nodded and walked closer to him, “Yes, but it was so short, and such a long time ago.” She pressed herself up against him and began running her hand down his chest and under his jacket, “Why don't you say you and I make up for lost time.”

Clark began to get nervous, without red kryptonite, he could never really initiate it. Quickly, before you could blink, he got out of Lana's grip, ran over to Pete, dug the kryptonite out of his pocket and stuck it in his own. Then he ran back over to Lana and got into the same position as he was.

Lana jumped slightly, “What did you just do?” she looked up at him and his eyes flared red, as they had done before, and his veins ran cold red blood throughout his body.

“Oh, this night is just beginning,” Clark said smiling arrogantly back down at her.

“No, it's over."

Clark turned around shaking his head, "Gabe, Gabe, Gabe. You can't leave it alone, can you? When I said come in five minutes, I meant that it would be wise for you to turn around and..." whispering, he said, "head home."

"Mr. Kent! I want my daughter, now!" Gabe said, standing up straight.

Clark crossed his arms and tisked, "Mr. Sullivan, Chloe is having fun. She doesn't want to go home."

Chloe peeked from behind Clark, "That's right dad!" She walked around Clark and tried to cross her arms, but she missed and fell over. Then she started laughing hysterically, "Hahaha! Spongebob!"

"What have you done to her?" Gabe asked as he rushed over to Chloe to try and help her up.

Clark got in his path, however, and put a hand to his chest. "Uh, not so fast. We are in the middle of having fun, and you seem to be interrupting." He held Gabe tightly and turned to the senior boys, who were hovering close together in fear because an adult was in their vicinity. "Boys, get the rope!"

Derek and Franky snickered as they pulled a rope out of the back of their truck hidden in the woods off to the side of their campsite. They brought it over to clark and he began to tie Gabe up.

"I'm sorry daddy," Chloe said, getting on her knees, "I tried to stop them!"

Mr. Sullivan looked terrified as he realized the strength Clark had. Gabe had never been a really strong man, but he figured he'd be able to handle most teens who came his way. Now he just laid on the ground in a bundle of neatly tied knots and wondering if he was going to go home alive.

"My hero!" Lana sighed as she leaned her head against Clark's chest.

Clark smiled brilliantly, "Don't worry! We can still have fun!"

Derek smirked, "Anybody for some blackjack?"
