Chapter Two
“Uh…hi?” Clark said, completely embarrassed. The girls just stared at him bug eyed and very curious. They were trying as hard as they could not to smile. “What are you girls doing out in the woods this late at night?”

The girls looked at each other and then back at Clark. They both had their mouths wide open and they both looked like they were about to say something. Clark lifted an eyebrow, “Is everything alright?” He stumbled backwards, realizing he had been trying to balance on one foot. His equilibrium seemed to be slightly off today, he wondered what was wrong with him.

Chloe lifted an eyebrow, “Are you drunk?”

Clark focused in on her and stared intently, “No, I am not. Why would you say that? I just had to relieve myself.”

Chloe and Lana couldn't take it anymore. They busted out laughing, they had to hold on to each other to keep from falling over. Clark looked on, disgusted with himself and the way he had let himself be embarrassed. He turned around and started heading back to the campfire. He could still hear the girls laughing as he began a slow jog and began approaching the clearing where they were having the campfire.

The girls stopped laughing and ran after him. “Clark!” Chloe yelled. “Clark come on! You know we were just having fun!” They couldn't catch up with him, however, and they soon found themselves in the middle of a clearing. They stopped abruptly and the boys grew quiet when they saw them standing there.

Pete nudged Clark and winked at him. Derek stood up and smiled at the girls, he walked over to them and stood about five feet away. “Well, isn't Clark quite the ladies man!” The boys cracked up again and started raising their glasses in the air, toasting to their good fortune. He turned back to Clark, “Clark, aren't you going to escort these nice young ladies to their seats?”

Clark looked confused, he didn't really want anything to do with them right now. He watched as Derek swayed in his stance, visibly drunk. He had a goofy smile on and it made him look like a dork. Pete nudged him again, “Come on man, do something.”

Clark shook his head and said, “No Pete, we don't want them to get hurt.”

Pete rolled his eyes, “Come on, I'll go with you.” He grabbed Clark's arm and began to drag him across the ground towards the girls.

“No, Pete, don't,” Clark said, frustrated. The guys were laughing until Clark finally got out of his grip and scrambled to his feet.

Pete shook his head, a little disappointed, “I was hoping I didn't have to do this.” He reached into his pocket.

Clark looked at him funny, “Do what?”

Pete looked behind him, “Clark! Look!” Clark whirled around and looked, nothing was there. Meanwhile, Pete slipped something out of his pocket and stuck it into the pants pocket of Clark's jeans. Clark turned around and faced the girls. His eyes flared a deep red and they saw his veins change to a sharp flowing red. The girls gasped and took a step back.

Lana and Chloe instinctively held on to each other. “Clark…Pete…you guys are drunk…” Lana said, trembling.

Clark smiled his evil redk smile and took a step forward, shaking his head. “No, really, I'm not. I promise.” He reached for Lana and took her by the arm. “Come on, this way babe.”

Pete smiled and knew his mission was complete. Now they were going to have some fun. He turned back to Chloe, “Shall we?” He reached for her arm. She stood frozen, realizing now that Lana, her “defense shield” had been stripped away from her. She allowed Pete to take her by the hand and they followed Clark and Lana to the benches.

The guys cheered and slapped Clark on the back. “Now the party can start!” Franky yelled.

Clark could feel Lana trembling in his arms, he leaned down and whispered in her ear, “It's okay, I'm the last person you need to be afraid of.” She looked up at him and noticed the red tint in his eye. She felt his breath breathing down her neck, but strangely enough, she didn't smell alcohol.

She leaned backwards and hissed at Chloe. Chloe turned her head and saw Lana mouthing something to her. She was asking does Pete smell like beer? Chloe nodded her head and plugged her nose, then turned back to Pete, not wanting them to hurt her for conversing.

Lana tugged at Clark's collar and motioned him down, she needed to ask him something. “Clark, what's going on?” she whispered.

Clark smiled at her, “It's a party. Don't you know one when you see one?” He looked around and then back at her, “Do you want something to drink?” Lana stared at him. Was he serious? Was he actually offering her alcohol? “Or would you rather make out?”
