| Wow. This con, by far, was the most prosperous. I managed to get a heck of a lot of stuff I'd been DYING for, and at fairly reasonable prices (I had Keisu the Haggler with me ^^ And the irrisistible fan-girl face ~_^) I think what made me happiest is that I can now say I'm the proud owner of the entire Fushigi Yuugi series (although the 2nd season is on VHS...mabye I'll pawn it off and buy the DVD box set with the money ^^) This year, Keisu and I attended as one of anime's most popular brother/sister teams, Miaka and Keisuke Yuuki. Of course, Keisu just put on a sweatshirt that bears striking reseblance to one of Keisuke's, and a pair of jeans. I'd say the hardest part of the whole thing was styling his hair so that half of his bangs were back and the rest forward. He kept squinting with the eye the bangs were falling down in. My costume was by far much harder to make, because I went as the Suzaku No Miko, not just Miaka. Keisu kept saying he didn't understand why I go through the trouble....-_- Although the con was undeniably more crowded this year than last, it was still oodles of fun. We watched Rurouni Kenshin, but that was about it. There wasn't much we both wanted to see this year. I did, however, want to see Doggy Poo, but sadly, we missed it due to our lunch schedule and the fact that we went to the Virgin Megastore Sunday afternoon instead of returning to the con. We also missed a lot of stuff because every three seconds, I was stopped to take pictures (Keisu was rarely stopped, unless we bumped into a real FY otaku who recognized the sweater and the hair -_-). I even got my picture taken with Tasuki and Kouji, but the website its supposed to be on doesn't seem to have been built yet. I'll keep checking, and when it does, I'll put up a link. Sadly, I only have about half of the pictures I want to put up. My friend who went with us has the other camera. I hope to get the copies next weekend, and either Keisu or myself will put them up. |
