On Ste Marie, the West Indies
The story�s starting now, quick
It�s hot out here on this island
A white suit�s what Lee�s wearing
He�s looking round, he�s on a hunt
The bad guy he�s just staring
�Where is it, Moss?� Lee asks the guy
Who�s sitting tied to a chair
Lee�s getting angry with him now
His patience thin starts to wear
He has the list apparently
Lee knows �cos Spalding told him�
Before he died, �Now where�s Barnstorm!�
Lee threatens, this is no whim
Lee has a lamp now in his hand
In Moss�s face he shoves it
He sees them then, they�re in his eyes
To get them Lee has to hit�
The bad guy, now he�s unconscious
Lee takes the contact lenses
Let�s hope before Lee puts them in�
His own eyes, them he cleanses
We�re at the airport now, and Lee
Has just been searched by customs
But they found nothing anywhere
Lee�s polite, says �No harm done�
But Lee�s not fooled, they�re watching him
He smirks, he beat the bad guys
As customs guy talks to Newman
�He had no list� he replies
Newman is paged by someone now
Moss says that Lee�s got the list
�He couldn�t have, we searched him well�
In his eyes? That�s how we missed-�
N orders Moss to make a call
He�s going now to DC
He�ll follow Stetson on the plane
Get the list away from Lee
At IFF, A�s working hard
She�s working now with Francine
A tries to find out where Lee�s gone
When he�ll be back on the scene
But Fran says that she doesn�t know
We see Amanda�s concerned
The grapevine is where she would go�
Before, it�s where things she�s learned
But she�s heard nothing for three days
About Lee�s situation
So she asks Billy what�s happ�ning
He has no information
�Lee left too quick to fill us in�
With all the facts and details�
But he�s made all his status checks
He�s okay,� Billy regales
Fran suddenly knocks on B�s door
She has a coded relay
B says that A can hear it too
So Francine then starts to say�
�Lee�s coming in from Saint Marie
Flight 445 arriving�
At the south term, at 4 o�clock�
Amanda offers driving
Billy then asks, �It�s no trouble�
To drive out to the airport?�
�No, no,� Amanda, she replies
Because she�s no longer fraught
�I�d probably be going out�
That way, so it�s no problem�
To pick Lee up� Billy just smiles
Indulgently. She�s a gem
Lee steps from the elevator
But Newman�s there before him
And with his henchman pulls a knife
They grab Lee, each take a limb
As they force Lee towards their car
Lee pulls away, he�s free now
He�s not got far when they catch up
If this was Batman, �Kap-pow�
Lee kicks the bad guy in the nose
N�s knife then slashes Lee�s arm
They bang Lee�s head against the roof
For the contacts, they�ll cause harm
A�s stationwagon�s now in sight
Amanda sees the action
She drives towards them really fast
Lee uses the distraction
He rolls across in front of A
He takes the driving seat then
The music�s cool as they are chased
And smash from a lot, again!
From lane to lane the baddies chase
Driving by policemen too
As they catch up, Lee hangs a right
Pass a sign for LMU!
Now that�s in California
I thought, or am I dreaming?
Has Cont. Guy gone to sleep again
Director must be steaming!
Now Lee�s eyesight has gone all blurred
From side to side, car�s swerving
A tries but can�t stop crashing through
A bus stop. That�s unnerving!
�This guy�s an injured federal�
Agent, you�ve got to call in�
A takes control, applies first aid
To Lee who isn�t talkin�
At least he�s not coherent much
Just saying �Contact Billy�
Amand� assures him that he�ll be
All right, but really, will he?
At Parker Gen�ral Hospital
The doc�s filled in on Lee�s plight
Lee�s on the gurney, coming in
His hold on A�s hand is tight
As A�s left outside the ER
A chopper�s here with Billy
And Francine too, she is concerned
Unlike her to be friendly!
�Lee�s in good hands� F tells Amand�
NEST is the best that there is
As Doctor Goldberg briefs the team
They get right down to the biz
B asks A if Lee said a word
�Just �contact Billy�� she�s sure
�You acted well in enacting�
Emergency procedure�
Lee�s injury is serious
They�re waiting for a CAT scan
B tells Amanda to go home
For now they�ve done all they can
But A says that she will wait there
�Okay,� says Billy, �Then we�ll�
Call home to say you�re with a friend�
Until you see how Lee feels�
Newman�s arrived, flower�s in hand
He�s looking for Lee Stetson
The nurse can�t tell him that he�s here
N takes the gun he�d hidden
The gun he�d hid among the flowers
He walks right passed the man who
Is guarding Lee�s room from outside
Worried, A is watching too
In Lee�s room he is waking up
He sees Amanda sleeping
Billy comes in, he sees Amand�
And asks Lee �How ya keeping?�
�That must have been some big party�
If this is the hangover�
And what�s Amanda doing here?�
She�s sleeping on the sofa
�But why?� said Lee, �What�s going on?�
�Amanda she did save you�
You were outnumbered two to one�
She drove in to your rescue�
�The Germans wanted the lenses
Where are they?� Lee then shouted
Waking Amanda from her sleep
�Do you have them?� he doubted
�You didn�t have a camera�
Amanda sits on the bed
And grabs his hand as he lies there
�No, contact lenses,� Lee said
�I�m sure I had them when I blacked�
Out in the car. So where then?�
He tries to get up out of bed
A makes him lie back down. Men!
�How long have I been out?� asks Lee
�Fifteen hours� Billy then states
�The Barnstorm list�s been compromised�
To lie there Lee really hates
�What�s Barnstorm?� �manda then asks Lee
�It�s my civilian network�
Of eyes and ears out on the ground�
Who pick up things while they lurk�
For ten years Lee has had the list
But someone double crossed them
East German Moss then purchased it
But how big is the problem?
They don�t know the scale of the leak
We need to find those lenses
Lee tries to get up out of bed
Amanda stops him, senses�
He is frustrated now it�s true
He must protect his fam�ly
B tells Lee they will handle it
�If you�re dead who�ll help them, Lee?�
As Goldberg shows another guy
One contact with half a list
This guy is blackmailing Goldberg
For prescriptions that he�d missed
B takes Amand� out to the shop
To get her a car loaner
B suggests that she stay at home
Out of trouble, they�ll phone her
�But what of Lee?� �He just needs rest�
�I know, Sir, but he won�t though�
�What if you are responsible�
For him?� �Of course I will go�
�Hi Leatherneck, have you a car?�
Mr Melrose said you�d lend one�
While my car�s in the shop again�
Through a bus thing the car�s gone�
�I have a pink one just for you�
The key chain�s from a rabbit�
But it won�t start, so like the Fonz
He bangs the hood to start it
Brody investigates the lens
There�s letters, they are jumbled
Goldberg says that it�s to make sure
Their deal, it doesn�t crumble
Brody expects the two lenses
And wants another favor
Stetson must be killed Brody says
And Goldberg�s voice does quaver
In Lee�s room he is fast asleep
Then Doc Goldberg comes in there
And leaves some pills on the nightstand
This does not look good for Scare�
In Arlington, A�s eating now
Her breakfast, having Oaties
While Dotty has peanut butter
On marshmallows, not Bucks Fizz!
It�s Mister Simpson who is sick
Thinks Dotty; has concussion
She worries for her daughter�s health
A soon ends the discussion
In Lee�s room now another guest
A nurse, this time, she�s fam�ly
Come to enquire what�s going on
This barnstormer is Sally
She thinks the Germans have the list
And her name might be on it
Should she drop out of sight right now?
Lee says �No,� she shouldn�t quit
A porter�s walking down the hall
And into a storage room
Where Newman jumps him, then he builds
A big gun. Can you sense doom?
Lee�s getting dressed up in his room
Then calls the nurses station
Pretends he�s Billy to distract
The fed, guarding the patient
At the same time, Newman is here
Pretends to be a porter
As he sees Lee leave by the stairs
He takes the elevator
Outside the doors of Parker Gen
Newman is waiting for Lee
The elevator must be fast
He gets the drop so quickly
�We have to talk� Newman tells Lee
�The lenses, I must have them�
Lee eyes the gun then attacks him
Knocking him out, no problem!
We�re back now at the Agency
There�s no sign of the contacts
B says they�ll write the network off
Lee can�t give up on his pacts
�Let me have 24 more hours
To check with the barnstormers
It�s their job to hear and see things
After all they�re informers�
�Okay,� says Billy, �One more day�
But I have one condition
As soon as you have questioned them
You start recuperation�
�I can�t do that,� Lee tells his boss
�What if we set up base at�
Your apartment? You�ll oversee�
Lee says, �I�ll agree to that�
Amanda goes into Lee�s room
At the hospital, he�s gone
So are his clothes, there�s just some pills
She calls the nurses station
A massage is being given
As Brody opens up trade
For the B list will cost one �mill
Between them their plans are laid
L parks his �vette and getting out
He hears a noise, he can�t think
What it can be, he looks around
It�s A, in a car so pink
�What are you doing in that thing?�
He asks her. Now, she�s started
�Don�t ask, it�s the best they could do�
She really is good hearted
�It�s not important anyhow
I went to Parker, you�d gone
Worried sick, I called IFF
Said you�d had a call from one�
Of your sources, she�s a masseuse?
Lana, Lola or Lulu?�
�Her names Lana� Lee interjects
�She�s one of the fam�ly, true�
�Well, don�t complain that I am here
It was Billy who sent me�
�Hey, no complaints,� Lee smiled at her
�Thanks for caring about me�
�I�m sorry, but I�m shaken up�
You left your medication�
These pills I found, you should take them�
�I�m not into sedation�
�You need to rest so you can heal�
Your body�s had a trauma�
�My body�ll have to wait in line�
I must save my informers�
�For it�s my network, Amanda�
They�re civilians, not agents�
I owe these people with my life�
I have to give my two cents�
�You know I�d do the same for you�
And you would too, I think, yes?�
All she could say to him was �Yeah�
�Let�s see Lana then, I guess�
Lana tells them that she heard it
The deal they made for Barnstorm
�Brody�s the name of the broker�
Lee said for him this was norm
As Lana leaves Lee gets angry
�Who is Brody?� A asks him
�They call him the death broker �cos�
That�s what he always deals in�
�He�s arranged hits, arms deals and coups�
Do all if they�ve the right price�
�But how?� A asked, �Through blackmail, bribes�
Whatever needs to suffice�
�Well, why can�t you just bring him in?�
�No evidence at this stage�
We�ll need to work on this some more�

�By now the set-up should be done�

She places her hand near his chest
To keep him feeling steady?
And then she fingers his jacket
�We�d better now get back there�

All Lee could reply was �Yeah�
Back at home, Lee is on the phone
Angry and shouting, he yells
Amand� hovers in the background
To get some rest now, she tells
�Not now, Amanda� he argues
A is firm when she says, �Now�
Grabbing his arm, she turns him round
�To the bedroom you will go�
�There are things I have to do here�
�Don�t argue with me,� she says
Lee sighs several times in response
Shutting the door, �You need rest�
Lee sits on the bed, then lies back
�Now you are here, take these pills�
Lee�s looking like he might argue
But won�t win this test of wills
�Well, are you satisfied now then?�
A sits real close on his bed
�Yeah� she says, touching his forehead
�Isn�t this cosy?� Fran said
�Please not now Francine,� Lee tells her
�What did you find in the files?�
Meanwhile Amanda is checking
Lee�s chart, and there are no smiles
�I�ll take the doctors, Francine, yeah?�
You take the nurses; Amand��
Can you please do the orderlies?
A interrupts what he�s planned
�There�s no medication prescribed�
On your chart, there is none here�
You see� �So what was in those pills?�
�I don�t know,� A is unclear
�We should now ring the hospital�
�Amanda, there is no need�
�Cos I didn�t really take them�
�You didn�t?� she�s so relieved
Fran asked Lee, �Who gave you those pills?�
�A found them on the nightstand�
�They need to be analysed, now�
Taking the pills in her hand
Lee sighs and then closes his eyes
�You gonna get some sleep now?�
�But I�ve got work,� he waves a file
But then he puts the file down
He reaches out to grab her arm
�I appreciate your actions�
But I don�t need to be mothered�
He�s surprised at her reaction
�Okay, I�m sorry,� Amand� says
�I understand,� she rises
Again Lee reaches, grabs her arm
Says, �No.� Wow, more surprises
�So what�s the matter?� she asks him
�Stay for a minute, will ya?�
�Of course I�ll stay,� she smiles at him
She�s selfless, our Amanda!
Lee closes his eyes, lying back
Amanda�s hand in his there
Upon his chest, so very calm
And so, you see, they do care
She sees the photo by the bed
�My mom and dad� he tells her
�My mom was English, did you know?�
�I think you did say Lee, yeah�
�My dad was in intelligence�
Met her at the NATO pact�
Signing in 1949�
On their love they had to act�
�I was just five when they were killed�
�I know, Lee. You should sleep now�
And while he rests, she reaches out
To touch his face she allows
�I�ll be outside, if you want me�
She stands up, quietly exits
She whispers now, �I�m right outside�
From his bedroom she now quits
A�s flicking through a magazine
Billy and Fran they come in
To Lee�s apartment, A says �Shh!�
�At last Lee he is sleepin��
�Not any more,� is Lee�s reply
As from his bedroom, he walks
�So what was in the pills Francine?�
Then shuts up while Francine talks
�Pure phenzo-barbitol,� she says
�The drug�s experimental�
Not approved by the FDA�
From Diller Pharmaceutical�
�Once it�s taken, it can�t be traced�
Billy said; A makes no sound
�Did you say Diller? Wait a sec�
I think our pusher, we�ve found!�
Now did you catch that glance right then
Between Lee and Amanda
That�s eye speak, they�re so good at that
No wonder Lee does �land her�
So now we�re back at Parker Gen
They leave the elevator
Bump into the two NEST doctors
Lee�s angry, doesn�t rate her
Waving a pill in the doc�s face
�So which one gave me this then?�
�Not us� they say, �It�s a mistake�
�I don�t want excuses,� Then�
Lee grimaces, and grabs his head
And to the floor collapses
�Has he been having headaches, too?�
Could it be his synapses?
As Lee is placed on a gurney
�Sub-dural hematoma?�
The Doc, he asks, �We must act quick�
Before Lee�s in a coma
As they head off to the OR
Goldberg steps from his office
This happened just outside it see
He wouldn�t want to miss this
In the OR, Lee�s BP falls
Billy and A are waiting
�I came as soon as I heard. How�s�
He doing?� Goldberg�s stating
�I shouldn�t let him out of bed�
�Don�t blame yourself, Amanda�
And now Lee�s BP�s dropping fast
His pulse stopped, I can�t stand here!
There is no pulse, they�ll have to shock�
Lee, �Clear� they call, but no change
He�s still flatlining; oh no, please
He�s dying? This is too strange
Amanda anxiously cries �No!�
The Doc he just shakes his head
The drugs they are not working now
Oh, God, it looks like Lee�s dead!
Amanda and Bill are so shocked
To comfort her, B reaches
As they leave, Goldberg takes the phone
His hypo oath, he breaches
�I have some news� Goldberg he says
Down the phone, talks to Brody
�It�s good news, Stetson�s dead at last�
From here I see his body�
Brody�s now waiting at Parker
For Goldberg, �Why do this here?�
�It�s a precaution,� Brody says
�To make sure I can get clear�
�You don�t need to worry about�
Me now, or about Stetson�
They swap contacts for a briefcase
G�s relieved that the deal�s done
A patient then is wheeled past G
G looks directly at him
But obviously doesn�t see
He really must be so dim
Goldberg tells Brody that he wished
He�d took his chance with the Board
�Now leave my life, my hospital!�
His blood pressure has just soared
�I think that we can arrange that�
A voice says. It is Stetson!
Woo-hoo! he�s not dead after all
His death it was just a con!
�You boys look like you�ve seen a ghost�
Lee smiles, as he points his gun
�The NEST team really does act well!�
He really knows how to stun
On the sidelines A and B watch
As Brody threatens Goldberg
He forces Lee to drop his gun
�Cos shooting, he�s on the verge
Brody shoves Goldberg toward Lee
Then turns and leaves abruptly
But Lee follows, Brody then shoots
Lee hides behind a gurney
Instead of going through the doors
Brody he takes a detour
And hides out in a storage room
He�s stupid too, what a bore!
That nurse again, she�s here as well?
�There�s no way out but that one�
Lee braces up against the wall
He�s ready now, with his gun
As Brody waits inside the room
Lee tries a �flying squirrel�
But bangs his head, nearly knocked out
In Disney, he would hear bells!
Brody he tries to sneak up then�
On Lee. This room, it�s so small
Lee points his gun, but cannot see
He shoots but just hits the wall
Brody laughs as Lee misses him
He lines up his shot then, oh
They are only ten feet apart
He cannot miss, you think? No!
He has, he�s missed, oh what a shot
This Brody must be useless
To miss that shot, he must be bad
Where he learnt, anyone�s guess
The bottle�s dead, but Lee is not
Brody then makes his exit
And runs right into Amanda
Gun pointed at her, oh�.darn!
�No!� yells Lee, he charges out
And Brody�s pushed to the wall
He drops his gun, as Lee does punch
Now he�s not moving at all
Amanda bends down to the floor
And helps Lee with the briefcase
Where did that come from anyway?
No one brought it to this place
Lee takes the contacts from the case
Again, I say, how could he?
Brody had them, but not the case
We know that Cont. Guy�s dopey!
To get back to the story though
Lee has recovered Barnstorm
Amanda helps him to his feet
Her arm round him, now that�s norm
It�s tag time now at IFF
With Lee, Amanda, Billy
B asks how Lee connected up
Goldberg and Diller quickly
�I read the small print in the file�
Look how Amanda�s staring
�Speaking of small print Lee,� she says
�You haven�t read this� Daring!
It�s Doctor Scardelli�s prescrip
For rest and relaxation
With five whole days in bed for Lee
He makes his protestation
�What! Five days? Are you kidding me?�
�That�s right� returns Amanda
�But hey, I�m fine, there�s nothing wrong�
He says to Billy and her
�I�ve got a thousand things to do-�
�But that�s an order, Scarecrow�
And Mrs King I have a job�
For you, too, starting right now�
�What is it, Sir?� �It�s him,� says Bill
And points to Mr Stetson
�You�ll temporarily be ranked�
Above him� Boy, this is fun!
�Your status? AOS16�
Lee now is looking wary
�I�ll see that he does get his rest�
Lee thinks it�s really scary
�It�s only one level higher�
Lee says to his new boss here
Raising a finger up to him
�Please step this way,� B�s smile�s clear
Lee stands still, like he will argue
But he thinks better of it
As Amanda leaves the bull pen
She makes a classy exit
Lee catches her, �I am not sick�
�You are sick and you know it�
I won�t argue� �All right,� says Lee
At least he knows when to quit
�So soup, do you like chicken? Veg?�
�Home made or canned� he asks her
�Home made� Amanda answers him
And calls the elevator
She faces him, before the lift
�Something occurs to me, that�
The one who helps me out the most�
Is not in Barnstorm� �Well that�
Is a terrible oversight�
Amanda says, she�s staring
Again into Lees eyes she looks
Is that his soul, he�s baring?
�An oversight, it�s not,� says Lee
�Welcome aboard, Amanda�
He smiles broadly and looks at her
He takes and shakes her hand there
�The pleasure�s mine,� Amand� returns
And Lee�s look is so special
Kissing her hand, says, �No it�s not�
We understand why she fell
