BOOK REPORT FORMAT

1) Title of the book , author , publisher and year of publication
2) Blurb

Write the description of the book. Look at the blurb on the back of the book or on the dust jacket to guide you. Don�t give away the ending , but make the blurb interesting enough to encourage others to read the book. Write about what kind of book it is - scary , funny , science fiction , adventure , diary , and so on.

3) Character and setting

Where is the story set? Describe the place or places where the story happens. Illustrate one of them.
Write about the man characters. Include a description of their personalities as well as their physical appearance. Write about how they feel about each other. Draw the main character.

4) Something about the author

What do you like or dislike about the author�s writing?
What do you think was the author�s message in this book?
What other books has this author written?
Include any other details you can find out about the author.

5) Your opinion

What did you think about the book?
What was your favourite part? Why?
Who was the character you particular liked? Why?
How would you continue the story line? Jot down some ideas of how the story might continue.

Presentation

You might like to consider interesting ways of presenting your report. Choose a way that is appropriate to the book . For example :

- a report for the �The Three Stranger� by Thomas Hardy could be in a miniature book or a doll�s - house shape book
