VHS 4th Makassar used to be EHS 2th Ujungpandang was opened and helded on 1st August 1964 by Decision Letter of Education and Culture Minister on 12th August 1964 No. 398/B.3/Kedja.64 that signed by head of Directorat Vocational Education named NJ. K. WASITO

The location of VHS 4th Makassar in north of Makassar city and accomodance students that stayed in north of Sungai Saddang street and at which time located in Sangir street and placed a primary school building. Therefore they head to study until afternoon. Its from 1pm-6pm. At which time was leader by Mr. ALFERS TARUPAY and all of instructure staf from Economic High School of Makassar.

After the G.30 S/PKI explode event, so VHS 4th Makassar or EHS 2th Ujungpandang was moved on Cakalang street No. 1 (eks Chinese/Tionghoa School). Since VHS 4th Makassar placed the location, so that location have already stayed 3 kinds of School, they are JHS 7th Makassar, VHS 4th Makassar, GHS 4th Makassar, so we knowing with named 724 compleks.

In the Educational period on 1985/1986 VHS 4th Makassar getting Schoolarship from ASEAN Development Bank. For completed Educational Medium and Infrastructure, so on the 1988/1989 ekspecially at 25th July 1988 moved to the new location that placed in Bandang Street No. 140 until now. In the 1997 name Economic High School 2th Ujungpandang was changed to be Vocational High School 4th Makassar
