Serena started off as goofy 14 year old, living out a normal teenage life. That all changed when see met Luna, who told her that she was destined to become Sailor Moon. Since that day, Serena has been fighting evil and finding out her past and future life, e.g. when she found out she was the Moon Princess. Although Serena can be a ditz and is usually late for school, she is always there for here friends and never lets them down. Most of the humor in Sailor Moon comes from Serena, if its the arguing between Serena and Raye, or if it's when Darien can help but comment on the meatball ponytails Serena wears, including the well known saying, Meatball Head.
In the future, Serena becomes Queen of the Earth under the name of Neo Queen Serenity, with Darien as her husband and, therefore, king of the Earth. They rule from Crystal Tokyo and end up having a daughter named Rini. Later on in Sailor Moon R, the Sailor Scouts of the present end up going to the future to help Rini save the future, where the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask discover their future.
In battle, Sailor Moon isn't the strongest of the Sailor Scouts, especially when fighting alone, but she fights to the end and usually deals the final blow to the enemy.

Amy Anderson is the brains of the Sailor Senshi, using her knowledge and data computer to help plan the next move. Amy is general quiet at school, but is very intelligent and tries very hard not to make others feel stupid around her. Mercury, like the other Senshi, has trouble with Serena and Raye's constant arguing, being the one to usually stop the argument from ruining the mission, which she is always committed to. We have seen Amy telling many a time to Serena to 'get with the program', but she a true friend and helps everyone in anyway she can. Amy nearly left the Sailor Senshi in one episode to go to Germany and hopefully become a doctor, but she decided to stay put so she can help the Scouts. Although she didn't admit it at first, she does a have a crush on Greg, a physic boy who was one of the seven Rainbow Crystal Carriers. When first joining the Sailor Senshi, her attacks were main offensive, but as time past, Sailor Mercury discovered more powerful moves, allowing her to have an excellent range of attacks for any situation.
When Amy first arrived at Crossroad Junior High School, all she did was study. Luna decided to follow Amy, thinking that she could be from the Negaverse. Serena introduced her to the Sailor V Video Game, which she found pretty easy. In a rush to get to her computer class, she dropped her computer disk, which was a brainwashing program from the Negaverse. Serena
disguised herself and barged into the class and transformed herself into Sailor Moon, but was attacked by Amy's teacher, who was the monster instead of Amy. The symbol of Mercury appeared on Amy's head, telling Luna that Amy was actual Sailor Mercury! With the help of Mercury's Bubble Blast attack, the Senshi were able to
destroy the monster.

Raye Hino, is the spiritual side of the Sailor Senshi. With her experience and skills as a Shinto priestess, she can perform amazing readings with fire which are very accurate and useful for the Sailor Senshi to plan their attack. Raye and Serena usually don't get along together, with them both arguing, usually about Serena being a goofball, and, especially in the original series, with Raye thinking that she would be a better leader than Serena. However, even with all this arguing, Raye and Serena are only showing that they are good friends, and as Lita said in episode 21, they sometimes even act like sisters. Raye is always there to give advice and is one tough Senshi to beat. Raye is also a psychic and hints of this came from dubbed episode 82, where she has a dream where the world and her friends are coming to an end. They finally find out that this is Deadly Silence and they end up stopping it from reaching Earth.
One thing to notice is her school. She's a Shinto Priestess, but she goes to a Catholic Private School which you see in a later Sailor Stars episode. Why does a Shinto Shine Maiden go to a Catholic school? You tell me!
Raye was first introduced into the series on dubbed episode 7, where buses were
strangely disappearing. This ended up as a plan by the Negaverse to capture energy using Good Luck charms Jedite (in disguise) sold at Raye's Temple. After trying to get rid of the evil spirits in Serena and putting up with a lot of complaints about the buses, which Raye had nothing to do with, Raye found out Jedite was behind the disappearences. When Jedite found out, he sent Raye through a portal, where a monster captured her. The sign of Mars appeared on Raye's forehead and Serena, as Sailor Moon, trapped the monster with her tiara, after the monster caught it. Luna, who earlier on left the Mars Stick with Raye, told Raye how to transform into Sailor Mars. Doing this, Raye was able to
destroy the monster using her Mars Fire Ignite move. However, the portal started to close and with the help from Amy, who used her powers to keep the portal open, and Tuxedo Mask, who helped them get through the portal with the flying buses (!!!!), they were able to escape with the missing people and save the day.

Tough, strong, nice and an excellent cook. Say those words to any Sailor Moon fan and they'll more than likely say Kino Makoto, or Lita if they've only seen the dub. Sailor Jupiter is, in my opinion, the strongest of the Sailor Senshi. Sometimes seen as a trouble maker, Lita is actually a really nice person when you get to know her. Her incredible strength, especially shown in dubbed episode 35 when she lifts up the skater, her attacks and advice to her friends, reveals that Lita is an excellent member in the team. However, Lita is kinda boy crazy and every cute guy she sees reminds her of her ex-boyfriend, Freddy. Lita also lives on her own, after her parents were tragically killed in an airplane crash.
Lita was introduced in dubbed episode episode 21 when she helped Serena when see was in trouble with some bullies. Lita was rumored to have been kicked out of her previous school for fighting. At first, she was avoided by everyone in her new school, being considered a trouble-maker. But Serena, who was very interested in Lita's lunch, befriended her. Serena discovered that Lita was a great person and invited her to play video games after school. At the video arcade, Serena introduced Lita to Raye and Amy. Later, Sailor Moon began to fight Game Machine Man, who was Game Machine Joe when before Zoicite took the Rainbow Crystal away from him. Lita jumped in, without knowing herself that she was in actuality a Sailor Scout. Luna discovered this out when the symbol of Jupiter was seen glowing on her forehead. She received the transformation pen and transformed into Sailor Jupiter. Together, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Moon defeated the creature.

Mina is the Sailor Venus, leader of the Sailor Senshi back on the Moon Kingdom when there was no Sailor Moon, didn't originally start as Sailor Venus with the rest of the Senshi on Earth. Mina was actually the mysterious and well loved Sailor V, with her trusted friend, Artemis. Mina was under this identity when she was in England, but then traveled to Tokyo to find the rest of the Senshi. Successfully, she found them and the fifth Sailor Senshi was found. Having a very bubbly personality, most fans will notice that Mina is very much like Serena, which is why they're really good friends. With excellent moves and leadership, Sailor Venus is one the toughest scouts and is one of the fans favorite.
Sailor V was known from the very beginning, but Sailor Venus was first introduced into the series in dubbed episode 29. She was seen not far from the wailing Serena near the beginning of the episode, but the first proper look of Sailor Venus was when she helped Tuxedo Mask get away from Zoicite. Then, she helped the rest of the Scouts by destroying the dark barrier around them. Finally, Zoicite and Malachite retreated and the scouts were reunited at last. Serena asked if Mina was the Moon Princess, but Mina told her she didn't know.

Rini, who is usually known by fans by her Japanese name, Chibi-Usa, is actually Serena and Darien's daughter. Rini comes from the future, the 30th century to be exact. She is the daughter of Prince Darien and Princess Serena in the future Tokyo, called Crystal Tokyo. Crystal Tokyo has come under attack, and to insure that Rini is not captured, is sent into the past by her mother. She is told to locate her mother (in the past) and to bring the Silver Crystal to Crystal Tokyo, since its power is the only way the city can be saved.
Rini is a lot like Serena, although she can be a bit more of a brat. She and Darien instantly become attached. Neither Rini, Serena, nor Darien immediately know that they are related in any way. Rini's robotic cat companion takes the place of Luna as her protector, as well as serves as a multipurpose tool. This 'Luna Ball' is also a way for Rini to communicate with Sailor Pluto in the future. The key she wears around her neck allows her to travel through time, although it is rather 'dangerous' to do so. Her pursuers are from the Dark Moon, the Negamoon. Rini is also referred to as the Small Lady in the future and when she is captured by the Negamoon and swayed to their side becomes an older version of herself called the Wicked Lady. She was later saved by Serena and together they were able to defeat the wiseman, with help from the Sailor Scouts. Rini departs to the future, but returns again to help the Sailor Scouts as Sailor Chibi Moon (Sailor Mini Moon).
Rini dreams of being a lady, but when boys are on her mind she can become very......competitive. When Rini needs any advice, she always seeks for it from Darien.

Amara is one of the strongest Sailor Senshi, giving Sailor Jupiter a run for her money in both height and strength. Very athletic, she enjoys running marathons to keep in shape. Haruka also enjoys sport cars and playing the piano. With her hair cut short and the fact that she wears mens' clothing, Haruka is somewhat of a tomboy. Actually, the Sailor Senshi mistook Haruka for a man they they first met her.
Amara helps out the Sailor Senshi as Sailor Uranus, fighting with them against the forces of evil. Sailor Uranus is very wealthy and lives with Sailor Neptune (Kaiou Michiru) in a mansion. She's very confident of her own abilities and at times appear to think the Inner Senshi are weak. She'll go through anything and anyone to accomplish her mission.

Sailor Pluto is the oldest and most mature of all the Sailor Scouts. Leader of the Outer Scouts, she was also the voice of the Luna P Ball in Sailor Moon R, but wasn't introduced until late in the same series. Sailor Pluto was the guardian of the gates of time, allow people to travel between times. Although she guarded the gates, she was never able to pass through them. Eventually, Sailor Pluto left her post and walks amongst the people of the past, fighting when she is desperately needed. She's known for her kindness and wisdom and is like a second mother to Rini (Chibi Usa).
Sailor Pluto is a lonely soldier with sad eyes, but she is a good friend of Rini (Sailor Chibi Moon), helping her by sending Rini to the past to find the crystal held by Sailor Moon. Although this much is known about Sailor Pluto, she still remains a very mysterious figure.

Chibi Chibi (which roughly translated means really tiny) is a very small child who one day falls out of the sky just like Rini. She has a little umbrella that she just kind of floats in, and always carries around with her. Her very limited vocabulary is 'Chibi Chibi!!!' hence the name. She ends up staying with Serena.
In the beginning this character was totally shrouded in mystery and there was much speculation as to her origin. Many put 2 and 2 together and realized that her hair color was close to Rini's, and she had a similar hair style to Serena. Since we found out that Rini was Serena's child from the future could it be possible that Chibi Chibi was Rini's child from an even farther future?!? No!
The Sailor Scouts and Sailor Starlights' main nemesis throughout Sailor Stars was Sailor Galaxia. In the end of the series the final show down is between Galaxia and Sailor Moon. As they are fighting Sailor Moon all but refuses to fight and starts to really lose the battle. Chibi Chibi intervenes and turns into a magnificent sword that could defeat Galaxia, but still Sailor Moon refuses to fight. Galaxia shatters the sword and we see Chibi Chibi fall.
Sailor Galaxia's goal is to collect Star Seeds, which is the life essence of living beings, but is strongest in the Sailor Scouts. As it turns out before Galaxia became totally evil her star seed manifested itself as Chibi Chibi and fled seeking out Sailor Moon, the only one who could help bring Galaxia back to the light. In the end we see that Chibi Chibi is actually a part of Galaxia!

Kakyuu was the ruler of her home planet, Kinmokusei. She and the Three Sailor Star Lights worked together to keep the planet happy and prosperous. But Sailor Galaxia came to their planet, searching for the star seeds. Many lives were lost, and Kakyuu fled to Earth, searching for refuge.
Shortly after, the 3 Star Lights followed her to Earth and began searching for her there. They
disguised themselves as guys (well, that was their motive, anyway) so they could attract her to them. They also were searching for the smell of olives, for that was a sign of her presence. Kakyuu was hiding out in an
incense burner that happened to be in the possession of little Chibi Chibi. Kakyuu would watch over Chibi Chibi and the Star Lights by taking on the form of a butterfly. Kakyuu was searching for the light of hope, Sailor Galaxia's Star Seed (later it is revealed that the Star Seed was Chibi Chibi herself), for she knew if she found it the universe would be happy again.
Kakyuu made her first appearance in the anime when Sailor Lead Crow attacked Usagi and tried to steal her Star Seed. Chibi Chibi then released Kakyuu from the incence burner and Kakyuu saved Usagi. The Three Lights were so happy to see her, but were disappointed when she told them that they had to join with her and beat Sailor Galaxia. They knew it was too dangerous. Kakyuu stood up to Galaxia for a while, but she doesn't have much power. Galaxia killed Kakyuu by taking her star seed.
Kakyuu came back to life when Sailor Moon turned Galaxia good again. She and the Sailor Starlights then returned to their home planet.

She does cause some problems between her parents when she first appears, saying Artemis is her father. She doesn't, however, mention Luna, so naturally Luna goes off in a not too happy mood. Eventually, the situation is sorted and the three felines are back together.
Although she is in her feline form, in the manga, she has appeared in as a human.

Mamoru (Darien in the dub) first met Usagi (Serena in the dub) when she threw her test paper at him. From here on, Mamoru continuous called Usagi, "Meatball Head", because of her meatball ponytails. He was always teasing Usagi, adding a lot of humor into the series, but sometimes went a bit too far which ended up with her being in tears. However, he always helped her if she needed help, always being there to risk his life for hers. Mamoru use to get dreams about his forgotten past and he ended up finding out that he was Tuxedo Kamen (Tuxedo Mask in the dub) and, later on, that he was Prince Endymion (Prince Darien in the dub), who was to marry Princess Serenity (Princess Serena in the dub).
Tuxedo Kamen usually helped out Sailor Senshi in battle and played an important part in the gathering of the Rainbow Crystals. Serena / Usagi had a crush on Tuxdeo Kamen and was a 'little' shocked when she found out that he was actually Mamoru, just like Mamoru when he found out that she was actually Sailor Moon. Tuxedo Kamen was brainwashed by Queen Beryl after his battle with Zocite, turning him to Queen Beryl's side. He was known then as Prince Darien, but in battle he went as Tuxedo Kamen because Queen Beryl knew that Sailor Moon wouldn't be able to attack him. He was brought back once with Sailor Moon's Moon Healing Activation move, but it was the power of the Star Locket that eventually brought Mamoru back to normal during the final battle with Queen Beryl.
After that final battle, everyone else except Mamoru got their memories back. This is when the mysterious Moonlight Knight appeared. He looked like Mamoru , but wasn't in his physical form. It was later found out during the final battle against the Doom Tree that the Moonlight Knight was the part of Mamoru's spirit that wanted to help Sailor Moon. During this time, the Moonlight Knight was able to help the Sailor Senshi discover new powers to help them defeat their enemies.
Although Mamoru is with Usagi, in the episodes of the original series it always seemed that it could of been Rei and Mamoru. After everyone found out about Usagi being the Moon Princess and Mamoru being Prince Darien, however, Rei understood and didn't take it personal.
Queen Serenity

Queen Serenity was ruler of the Moon Kingdom during and before the Silver Millennium. Mother of Princess Serenity, she taught her everything she needed to know to become a good and kind queen, for when her time came. When Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity fell in love, Queen Serenity, at first, did not trust him after an evil entity had possessed the people on Earth, but she learned to trust the Prince and allow her daughter to become engaged.
Before their marriage could be arranged, Queen Beryl, her four henchmen and the Negaverse, attacked the Moon Kingdom, with Queen Beryl knowing that if she wanted to conquer the Earth, she had to conquer the Moon also. All the Sailor Senshi were killed when trying to protect the Moon Kingdom and when Prince Endymion tried to protect Princess Serenity and refused to be Beryl's king, they were all killed in front of Queen Serenity.
Watching the body of her daughter and the prince drift away, Queen Serenity used all the power in the Imperium Silver Crystal to use a powerful Cosmic Moon Power move, that locked the Negaverse away in a dimension, in hope that they couldn't escape. Then, using the last of her power, she used the last of the crystal's power to send her daughter, the prince and the other Sailor Scouts 1000 years into the future to be reborn on earth and to live a happy life. Queen Serenity also sent her faithful servants, Luna and Artemis, into the future so that if the Negaverse did escape, they could find and reunite the Sailor Senshi and protect Princess Serenity, who happens to be Sailor Moon.
With her people safe and the Moon Kingdom in ruins, Queen Serenity's last words were, "On behalf of the moon, you will be free again. Maybe we'll meet again, one day".
During the Sailor Moon series, Queen Serenity does reappear to help the Sailor Moon and the Sailor Senshi. The main times is when the Usagi find out about the destruction of the Moon Kingdom and when she helps her personally.
