Inuyasha Intro

Inuyasha is a time travel adventure set both in the present and the Sengoku Period of Japan's feudal civil-war era. Fifteen-year-old schoolgirl, Kagome Higurashi led a normal life until she discovers an old well in a shrine near her home. Traveling 500 years back in time Kagome meets and awakens Inuyasha, a half-dog demon boy who was shot by a magic arrow and put into a deep sleep by the priestess Kikyo. In a twist of fate, Kagome and Inuyasha escape from the well's time portal and are drawn into a quest to hunt down the shards of the "Jewel of the Four Souls", a powerful stone that Inuyasha originally intended to steal!

Inuyasha

Inuyasha is a half-dog demon boy who is in search of the "Jewel of the Four Souls" in order to become a full demon. He inherits a sword, the Tetsusiaga, from his father and has an attack called the Soul Scattering Iron Claw. During every new moon Inuyasha loses his special powers and turns into an ordinary man.

His mother was a human and his father was a demon. 500 years ago Inuyasha fell in love with Kikyo, a priestess who protected the legendary Shikon Jewel. Kikyo told Inuyasha that he could use the jewel to make himself a full human. However, the evil demon Naraku tricked Inuyasha and Kikyo into hating each other! Kikyo used the last of her strength to seal Inuyasha to a tree using one of her arrows. After being sealed for 50 years, Inuyasha was released by Kagome, who was supposedly the reincarnation of Kikyo. When the shards of the Shikon Jewel were spread all across feudel Japan, Inuyasha and Kagome had to team up in order to collect them all before evil demons did.

After thinking that Kikyo had betrayed him, Inuyasha became insolent and he refused to accept any friendship or trust. But after the many adventures that he and Kagome went through, all of the dangers they faced, and the friends that they made...well, lets just say that Inuyashas heart began to open up more to friendship and trust. Through their many battles and hardships together, Inuyashas and Kagomes bond began to deepen into more than just friendship(Ahh, sweet true love ~^^~). Inuyasha is still a bit of a hot-head, but hes got a good and noble heart down inside!

Some of Inuyashas specialties: he can run really fast, and jump really high. His red cloack can repel fire, and his Soul-Reaping Iron Claws attack can rip up most demons. His sword Tetsuaiga, which was made from his fathers fang, is probably his best weapon. Like all half-demons, Inuyasha becomes full human once a month during a new moon.

Kagome

Kagome is "Inuyasha's" resourceful heroine. Possessing special powers, Kagome originally had the "Jewel of the Four Souls" implanted inside of her. She also happens to be the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo.

Kagome was just an average 9th grader; she lived with her mother, grandfather, little brother, Souta, and cat, Buyo. Her family owned a shrine with a well in it, and one day, while looking for Buyo in the shrine, Kagome was pulled down the well by a centipede demon. Upon arriving 500 in the past, feudel Japan, Kagome soon discovered that shes the reincarnation of the preistess Kikyo, who protected the legendary Shikon Jewel(the jewel was inside her body!). When the shards of the jewel were scattered throughout feudel Japan, Inuyasha and Kagome had to learn to work together in order to collect them before evil demons use them to gain more power.

At first, Inuyasha and Kagome didnt get along too well, but after many difficult battles with demons, they grew closer and closer, into more than just friends(Ahh, sweet true love ~^^~). Like Kikyo, Kagomes specialty is using a bow and arrow. Her arrows also have special purifying effect. Shes friendly and outgoing, but she can also be quite brave if the need arises.

Kikyo

A priestess and the guardian of her village during Japan's Sengoku period, Kikyo kept the Shikon Kewel before she was killed. She is also responsible for imprisoning Inuyasha in a deep sleep with her magical arrow.

Kikyo was once a renowned priestess given the task to care for the mystical Shikon Jewel. However, she fell in love with Inuyasha and was later tricked into hating him by Naraku. After suffering a major injury(from Naraku disguised as Inuyasha)she used the last of her strength to seal Inuyasha to a tree. Her body was later cremated along with the Shikon Jewel.

After Inuyasha was freed and joined Kagome in searching for the Shikon shards, the witch Urasue used her powers to ressurect Kikyo. Now Kikyo wanders from village to village, using her powers to help people when she can. However, since shes basically just an empty shell of a real human being, she relies on her soul snatchers to bring her dead souls for energy. Her relationship with Inuyasha is still a bit shaky and ambivalent. She continues to carry a severe hatred inside of her, but she simply cannot bring herself to truly harm him.

Sango

Sango came from a family of demon exterminators. When she was with her little brother Kohaku on his first demon extermination, a village had been attacked by a spider demon. Sango, Kohaku, their father, and the rest of their comrades had come to destroy it. However, Naraku was pulling the strings in this fight. He posed as the village leaders son(the leader was really one of Narakus puppets). He used the spider demons web to control Kohakus mind and forced him to attack his allies. Using his blade weapon, Kohaku unknowingly killed his father and all his companions as well! When he went after Sango, she tried her best to snap him out of it. But Naraku convinced the villagers that the two had gone crazy, and should be killed. So the villagers attacked, killing Kohaku and severely injuring Sango. While Naraku pretended to take care of Sango, he also made a copy of himself, and he purposly spoke to the copy just so Sango would over hear him. He said that Inuyasha had attacked her village and killed everyone...Inuyasha was responsible for it all! After hearing this, Sango was determined to kill Inuyasha. But when she attacked, Inuyasha and the others convinced her that Naraku was the real villain. After giving her people a proper burial, Sango joined Inuyashas group in pursuit of Naraku.

Sangos weapon is her demon-ripping Bone Boomerang. She also has Kirara, a cute little cat demon that accompanies her(and can turn into a huge flying kitty if necessary! ^_^). Sangos a bit quieter and withdrawn than the rest of the group, but she does have a slight crush on Miroku...but if he gets too carried away, shell slap him a good one!

Kaede

Kikyo's younger sister, Kaede leads her village after Kikyo's death. She appears as an old priestess with an eye-patch and is responsible fo the prayer beads around Inuyasha's neck that force him to obey the command "sit".

Sesshoumaru

The demon prince Seeshoumaru is Inuyasha's half-brother. He dislikes humans and is accompanied by his loyal servant Jaken. He seeks out his half-brother Inuyasha in order to acquire their father's legendary sword Tetsusaiga.

Sesshomaru is Inuyashas brother. But unlike Inuyasha, he is a full demon. The two of them dont exactly have a blossoming brotherly relationship. This is probably due to the fact that Sesshomaru acts quite wicked and mercilessly most of the time, and he thinks nothing of killing whoever gets in his way. He even frightens his bungling little imp servent, Jaken. He also despises all humans, which is the main reason why he was unable to obtain the Tetsuaiga. Much to his dismay, the sword he has, Tenseiga, is a healing sword. But even when hes not battling with a sword, Sesshomaru is really powerful and his poisonous claws definitely shouldnt be taken lightly!

Even though Sesshamaru has that sort of silent and ruthless villain way about him, there is some evidence that he isnt entirely evil. After getting wounded in a battle with Inuyasha, Sesshomaru was approached by a little orphan girl named Rin. She offered him food, and even though he didnt want to eat it, he seemed to be a bit touched by her kindness. He made that evident by bringing her back to life with Tenseiga after she was killed by a pack of wolves and letting her accompany him on his travels.

Miroku

Miroku is a Buddhist monk who also seeks the Shikon stone in order to recieve a curse placed upon him by Naruka. If he doesn't find the sacred stone or Naruka he is fated to die.

His grandfather was cursed by Naraku; an air void was opened up in his right hand that sucked in anything. And so, Miroku inherited that curse. While seeking revenge on Naraku(and picking up an occasional girl along the away!), Miroku met Inuyasha, Kagome, and Shippo, and sort of joined their little group(once again, Inuyasha could take him or leave him ^^,,,)

Even though hes basically a nice guy that never gets too worked up about anything, Miroku is a bit of a pervert...I mean, he finds pleasure in stroking girls butts! When Sango joins the group, she develops a little crush on him...but if he touches her, she wont hesitate to give him a good slap! >)

Shippo

Shippo is a young fox demon that has magical shape shifting abilities. He is orphaned so he followes Kagome and Inuyasha on their adventures.

Little Shippo was just an orphan fox demon when Inuyasha and Kagome found him. His father had been killed by the Thunder Brothers, and Shippo was seeking revenge! After quite a hard struggle, the trio were able to defeat the two brothers, and Shippo decided to accompany Inuyasha and Kagome on their quest(Kagome likes him...but Inuyasha could take him or leave him ^^,,,).

Dont let Shippos size fool you! Hes an expert at shape-shifting and creating illusions. And if all else fails, he can throw out his Fox Fire!

Naruka

Naruka is a merciless half-demon who's on everbody's "Most Wanted" list.

If ever there was a villain who wanted all the power, but never fought his fights for himself, Naraku takes the cake! In Japanese, his name literally means depths of hell, and it matches him shockingly well. Hes responsible for almost all of the tragedies and wrong-doings that Inuyasha and company have come across; hes responsible for tricking Inuyasha and Kikyo into hating each other, the curse of the wind tunnel in Mirokus family, the death of Sangos family and using her brother as a servent, trapping and killing many of Kogas comrades, and even tricking Sesshomaru into joining forces with him for a while. But he almost never performs any of his schemes for himself. He often has other demons do them for him, or he creates servents for himself, such as Kagura who can control wind, and Kanna ,who has a mirror that can steal souls.

Naraku was created when hundreds of demons fused with the theif Onigumo. Because Onigumo is still a part of him, he finds that he still has some awkward feelings toward Kikyo. The reason he turned Inuyasha and Kikyo against each other was because he wanted the Shikon Jewel. And only if it was tainted with darkness(caused by Kiyos hatred of Inuyasha) would its evil power be strong. So now that the shards of the Jewel have been scattered all over ancient Japan, Naraku will use whatever means necassary to get them all!

Rin is on the right, and Jakken is on the left.

Rin

Rin first meets and cares for Seeshoumaru when he is injured in battle. Later, when her entire village is attacked, and Kouga's wolf tribe kills her, Rin is brought back to life by Sesshoumaru's sword. Since then, she has been traveling with Sesshoumaru and Jaken.

Jakken

Jakken is Sesshoumaru's faithful servant. A short reptilian demon, Jakken carries the "Staff of Heads" which was originally used to locate the legendary sword, Tetsusaiga.

Kouga

Kouga is a wolf demon that takes human form and leads the wolf tribe. Kouga means "steel fang" in Japanese. Koga is a wolf demon. And as such, he has many wolf-like habits, such as eating raw meat and living in a cave with his pack. He also has two Shikon shards, one in each leg, that allow him to move super fast. While he and his gang where sabotaging a village one day, he ran into Inuyashas group. I guess it was at that time that he decided that he wanted Kagome to be his mate! Kagome does learn to like Koga, but thats about as far as it goes for her. Koga, on the other hand, refuses to give up on her. Even though he kind of once made a promise to a female wolf demon named Ayame(after saving her from an attacking harpy) that they would marry one day, he is still determined to make Kagome his woman! Inuyasha and Koga dont get along(bet you had a hard time guessing that).
