Greetings, and welcome to the world of Neverwinter Nights!
Neverwinter Nights is a 3D roleplaying game using the 3rd edition (3E) ruleset. The release date is set for
March-April 2002 and it is shaping up into a very promising game indeed!
Neverwinter Nights has 3 different modes : Single Player, Multiplayer, Module Creation.
Single Player
The single player mode is the game most people will play if they don't have an internet connection. It concerns itself with the roleplaying aspect and immersive gameplay of Neverwinter Nights. It is in effect a very good add-on to the Baldur's Gate Series, providing much more fun, playability and amazing graphics (if that's possible!). The game can be played through like this, offline and with a brilliant plot designed by Bioware or in one of the other modes. Hopefully the single player adventure will live up to the hype!
Multiplayer
The Multiplayer mode of Neverwinter Nights is truly exciting. Playing in a guild or by yourself, your character can roam lands as varied as Wales to India. These worlds are designed by Dungeon Masters
Module Creation
The intruguing part of Neverwinter Nights is this section : Module Creation. In the Neverwinter Nights commercial package, a toolset will be available which lets YOU build your own world! Whether just for
fun or for other people to enjoy, you can make your own written stories come true in real virtual style, combined with jaw-dropping graphics! This will interest many fantasy story designers, and hopefully will bring more people
into the genre of RPG's (role playing games or rocket propelled grenades, but forget about the last option ;))! Also, once you have made your own game, you can download many others off the web and play offline to your own enjoyment!
Neverwinter Nights itself is really 3 games : All of the above. It does not cost anything to play (except your normal internet bill, so in otherwords its practically free). The Smiting Swords is a mercenary
guild which has been set up for a team of like-minded roleplayers who shall be playing on and making worlds hopefully for fame(and fortune:))! Neverwinter Nights should be around 30, so save some money for the release! You won't be disappointed,
and if you are, I'll eat my leg (little do they know I have many spare legs...hehehe...damn I said that outloud...) Guards!.
