Leader's Meeting Minutes-November 18, 2002

Those present-Tom L. Barb G., Brian L., Liz M., John H., Neil C., Myrle T., & Buddy K.

1. A Leaders Meeting-has been scheduled for THURSDAY-DEC 5th at 6:00pm.  Site-hopefully Trinity, but maybe Benns-TBA.  Look for an email.  This is a POT LUCK DINNER so we can sit and discuss the direction the troop is going and plan a course of action without being in a hurry to get to the kids downstairs.  This will not be a regular thing, just a time when we can have more time to discuss things, bring up topics, and be relaxed.

2. Troop 7 is in charge of the Klondike.  Brian is heading this up.  He is making up the manuals.  John H. is to work on the patch.

3.  Every leader is to think about a point system for Grading the Patrols.  Brian would like every leader to COMMIT TO PAPER their ideas on this.  This will be one of the items discussed at the Dec. 5th meeting.  (We have homework, guys.)

4.  Mentors-Please take time at the end of your patrol time to meet with the patrol leader of your group alone.  This time to be used to help them learn to lead-give advice, help, etc.

5.  Adults-when there is a camp out in which the boys are not allowed to take chairs,  please pack up your chair after you are done with it, so it does not become problem.  Your scout should not appropriate your chair, when other scouts do not have one.

6.  Summer Camp-is Camp Shenandoah.  It is 9 miles outside of Staunton.  It is said it is nice, in woods, & has modern kitchen.  Has a COPE course.  We received favorable comments on this from other campers there.  The week is July 6-12.  It should be "approximately" $160.  We will go to Blue Ridge next year.  Transportation will be discussed at the Dec. 5th meeting.  Liz M. will coordinate payments, and other forms.  Marcia D. will coordinate merit badge forms.

7. Assignments-Short term assignments are as follows.  Other assignments to be done at the Dec. 5th meeting.
