| Leader's Meeting Minutes-October 13, 2003 Leaders attending- Frank Mc., B Land, T. Liakos, B. Kelly, K. Baggett We had to start late because not enough people were present. State of the Troop- 1. The last six months have been a really low point for the troop. 2. We need to get more parents involved with the events that do not involve camping so responsibility is shared. 3. Our troop needs to start offereing merit badge classes for the boys. Need new merit badge counselor for Communications & Personal Management. 4. We also need to start training our boys for their rank advancements. Camporee Info- 1. Meet at the church 6:00 pm Firday night Oct.17th 2. Bring Fishing rods, tackle, and bait. Also bring tent stakes. Make sure personal tents are labeled. 3. Leaders, we need a full compliment of meals. Each leader take a meal. Brian has volunteered for Saturday night dinner. We need Sat. breakfast, lunch & dinner; Sun. breakfast, & lunch. Keep meals simple. 4. The older boys, first class & above, will take a hike Saturday morning & clean the beach. Need beach shoes!!!!!! 5. The younger boys needing rank will be doing the needed activites such as cooking, compass, etc. Saturday morning. 6. See attached agenda, and judging points. Blackstone Info- we will pre stage Blackstone... 1. The Monday before Nov. 3, scouts will pack the camping gear. 2. Backpacks & personal gear will be packed up Thursday night Nov. 6th. 3. Brian & Tom will leave during the day Fri. with the gear and secure a site. 4. Jeff will drive the van with the boys, leaving the church at 6:00 pm Fri night. 5. Caution please bring approperiate cold weather clothing. Yard Sale will be Oct. 25 th at Knot's Automotive. It will start at 7 am. We need a coordinator. OA Fall Fellowship-Oct. 25th General Info- 1. Troop Elections are Oct. 20. 2. Nov. 2 is Junior Leader Training after the elections. 3. Be on the look out for places to hike and camp. What is open now due to the hurricane? |
