| Parent's Meeting Minutes 02/09/04 Call to Order Opening Prayer by Frank McA. Approval of Minutes from February 9, 2004 Liz M. on extended leave of absence - Roxanne L. will take minutes Fundraising Laura C reported she collected $276.00 in candy money tonight. She will order 15 more boxes of assorted bars and will collect money each week. We will clear $700.00 with our first order and $1000 with the additional 15 boxes. She may call to check on getting a booth to sell candy and possibly water at Olden Days. Watch emails for sales at Food Lion and Farm Fresh. Highlights of Upcoming Events 1. Jonathan G. Eagle Court of Honor will be April 3 at 2 p.m. Practice that day at 12:00 noon at Bethany UMC. 2. Bill E. of Troop 25 is a CPR Instructor for the District - we can contact him for classes. 3. April Roundtable is April 14th. (2nd Weds. Of month at 6:30). Dinner, FOS, Fireside Chat. Need FOS for Financial Support. 4. May 8th - Daniel C. Eagle COH at 2 p.m. at Trinity UMC 5. Register by May 9th for Cub Scout Day Camp at Nike Park. Volunteers are needed. 6. No traditional Scout Show this year - instead - Scout Adventure Challenge 2004 May 14 - 16. This has been a required event in the past so we may do something different. By Laws are being revised now anyway. 7. May 29th - Local American Legion is having a ceremony to honor WWII Veterans. BS Volunteers are needed to direct traffic, parking, etc. It will be indoors at the Smithfield Center. (The same weekend as Olden Days). Also there is a special ceremony in DC that day as well. Summer Camp 2004 Base Camp - Merit Badges have been turned into camp. You can also pick some one time events such as Canoeing (all day), Rafting (all day - must be 13), Climbing (evening - Must weigh 100 lbs.), Horseback Riding (2 hrs.), etc. If an all day event is picked you will miss merit badge work that day. You need to let Marcia know tonight which ones you are interested in. Liz M. turned over camp paperwork to Barb G. Payment is due tonight. See Barb after meeting for this and medical forms. John H. has the health form list. Ongoing Business Troop 7 Bylaw review is underway - Give support to the committee. Past Events/Activities Klondike Derby - Was Cold but clear. Had a wonderful time. Didn't place but older boys worked well with younger boys as a team. "They do us proud." Winter Ordeal - OA - Boys cooked. Tom L. is always complementary of the boys. Paintball Trip - no formal report as it is not a scout event! Treasurer Report Ending Balance - $2,611.59. We will meet 9 a.m. Saturday at Trinity to Hike & Camp at FFA Camp for Service Project and Hiking Badge. Next Parents' meeting will be April 26th at 7:15 p.m |
