And his mother said to him
What is that (says she) you keep on saying
like you just were?

Just so my elder brother sings
     (says he)
      I hear him often.
And just so
     (says he)
      I am imitating him.

His mother, at that point,
said to the father

Now  (says she) it seems as though he killed her.

Because now he would go
for TEN DAYS
And now
the maidens mother wept.
And she opens  wide  her mouth
And she looks towards the mountain
(that was the way her daughter had gone)

(It was so that the youth
  when he killed her
he had cut off
  the maidens hair.
It was so too that
he holds this while he sings
he deeply grieves

  but also

   longs)

But she wept, that old woman,
like this

And she opens wide her mouth she weeps.
Then at that moment
a fly
  DEAD ON
    right into
      her mouth
        it flew.
And at once- chomp!
  and that fly

      BURST OPEN

that fly did, right then.

   And look!
     Fetid!

And she said to herself
that old woman

Already (says she) she is dead, my child.

And then
They all searched for her the maiden
because now the old woman had said to all of them

Dead! (says she) She is dead!

And they went
  to the mounains
    looking for her.

     And they found her.

Apparently, he had buried her.
    But
     nonetheless, they found her.
And they saw that
  she had been shot
and they searched for the arrow
    with which
     she had been shot

Absolutely Absent that arrow
      Not anywhere.

All about they searched

Absolutely Nothing They never found that arrow.

And they took home her body
And they buried her there
And they never found out who killed her
Because they never found his arrow.

And from this
the willow
  became red:

   The Maidens Blood.
