| Eric Smith is a student at Grand Valley State University, completing a B.A. in English and Greek. He currently lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His poetry has appeared in �Italics,� GVSU�s student literary magazine, and in the e-zine �Word on a Wire,� as well as the chapbook entitled Passages In Time. He also has recieved Honorable Mentions for his poetry from the Oldenburg Contest, GVSU�s English department�s literary contest, and from �Poems that Ate Our Ears,� the Friends of Poetry Society�s contest in his native Kalamazoo. |
| His poem "In the Library" appeared in the Grand Valley State Lanthorn, the school's newspaper. Most recently he was awarded several honorable mentions for his writng and the first place in fiction award at GVSU's Oldenburg 2002 for the short story Thousand Myrmidons |
