Kids Hole
PRN 17603

This shelter is located in the valley of the gorge, very near the Narrows, in the left bank. It was dug by the MNRC in 1912, when they found the remains of a young child (Balch 1912).  Later Balch added that all around this skeleton were a large number of goat bones (Balch 1947). Now it appears that the low entrance to the cave has been back-filled and all that can be seen is a high fissure on the right, with boulders covering a possible passage in the floor.
In his diaries, Harry Savory calls the site
Ravine Hole: "R. Balch and Webb had put in five days at Ravine Hole Ebbor, had got in 20ft, found an interred childs skeleton complete, a fragment of iron and at furthest point a 10ft chimney with a fine branch stalactite grotto of small size." In another place he adds that another find was a "fine barbed flint arrowhead" (Savory 1989, p.48).
