This site is a tremendous example of what the reading states about news broadcasts.  On page 51, Nichols states “These three strategies call on the orator or filmmaker to honor the three “C’s” of rhetorical discourse by being credible, convincing, and compelling.”  In order for a broadcast to reach and keep it’s audience, the three “C’s” must be obtained and upheld.  Otherwise, the viewers will become disgusted with the misinformation of the broadcast and change the channel.  Ratings will take a plunge and the program will go under.  Honesty is a golden rule in every aspect of life!  Check out MSNBC’s site—I think you’ll find that they do well at meeting the three “C’s.”
