INTRODUCTION

Starbase Assailant is a huge complex from a design that has been in use since the early 23rd Century. It is comprised of a mushroom shaped internal drydock capable of accommodating vessels as large as Galaxy y class ships.  The core of the base however, is its long cylindrical body with a large power core and engineering bulb at the bottom.   Although a Starfleet installation the base is in effect an orbital city with a population of 100,000 people of which only 3000 are Starfleet personnel. Colonists, Scientists, Traders and Diplomats all make their home on Assailant, hoping to take advantage of the fledgling colony on Qualinost.
