Clifford's Tower: The Best View in Town
This is my postcard shot--I waited for a nice and sunny day to go to Clifford's Tower. I think I'll go back in the spring; the entire green hill under the Tower was sprouting tulip bulbs, and I can imagine what that's going to look like in the spring.
Grand View
This is the view toward the North of Clifford's Tower. The Minster is furthest in the background, and I haven't figured out what the other two large stone buildings in front of it are.
York's first rock climbing wall
Within Clifford's Tower. The Building used to have two stories--The line where the second story floor is a little more than half of the wall.

Clifford's Tower has a long and varied history. First made of wood when under the control of the Vikings, it later burnt down after an invasion and rebuilt by the English as a defense against the same Vikings.

You may notice a little pink-orange tint to some of the stones on the right. Evidently, there was a fire and that changed the color of many of the stones to an orange hue.

It's all artsy-like!
