A little about you and your children: Me, my husband, and christopher live in a 3bdrm house in Kentucky. We have been living in an apartment since christopher was 1 but are now buying a house! Its great.

Story:
Well...I was 16 years old and a sophmore in high school. I was the starting point guard for my high school basketball team and it was off season. I started gaining a little weight and I didnt think anything about it. I had been having sex for a little over a year, so I thought everything was ok. I still have a few periods, short and sweet, but nothing normal. Finally in May of '99, my boyfriend (now husband) insisted I take a pregnancy test. A big fat positive is what I got, and we sat there holding each other crying not knowing what to think or say to each other. We were so young and he just started his freshman year at college. How could this have happened we wondered. But what we thought was the end of the world, was just the begining.

I never told my parents. You see, rumors spread all over school about the star b-ball player being pregnant but I jut denied it. I did gain a total of 35 pounds but I gained it everywhere, not just my stomach, so my tummy wasnt very big at all. My parents asked me once if I was b/c of the rumors they heard. I denied and they let it as that. So,I went through 4 months of actually knowing I was pregnant alone, since my boyfriend just went into denial and wouldnt face the fact that i was pregnant. He was just as scared as I was, but men really dont know what its like to be pregnant do they?? Well, on sept. 18 around 8:00pm my water broke. I about freaked out because I was working at Papa Johns and I was supposed to close. I didnt tell my manager I was in labor, I just told her I was sick and needed to leave. Thank god she let me go! I drove to my boyfriends house and waited there until he got home from a football game with his dad. That was about 10pm. I was really freaking out, I didnt know ANYTHING about labor or anything else. My contractions were killing me. So, chris drove me to the hospital and thats where I called my mom. And I am sure that broke her heart. She got to the hospital about half hour after I hung up the phone and she stayed in the delivery room with me until I had my son at 6:05am the next day. 10 hours of pain with no drugs and the thought that my parents were going to kill me!!

Well, I finished up my junior year with my grandmother watching christopher, and I even went back to playing basketball for half the year! My senior year I took a summer class that got me my diploma, so I didn't have to leave him all day. My husband finished up his last year of college this summer and is now holding on to a great job. He makes enough for me to be able to stay home, and now we are moving into our new house in 2 weeks. We needed a bigger place because I am expecting in Jan, '02. We are very excited and are making it fine. There were some really rough times, but if someone can make it through what I went through, they can do anything!
