MY MUSIC
Actually, I should say my songwiting. I've been writing songs since I was a teenager. When I was in the 8th grade,I met this girl at the school bus stop. Her name was Sharon and she played the guitar. We got together and she put the music to some of the songs I had written. We also wrote some songs together and we would go around and sing in the local churches and at the old folks home. We had such a blast. Then my family moved for 9th grade and even though we went to the same school we lived too far apart to get together. I still write songs and while I cannot do the instrumentation part, I do write my songs knowing how I want them to be sung.

BITS AND PIECES I tend to write my songs in bits and pieces hence the name of this section. I have a little notebook I carry around to jot down words and phrases as they may hit me. Then I take these bits and pieces and come up with a song using them. One of my favorite things to do is what Mac Davis use to do on his television show, for those of you old enough to remember his show. He would go in the audience and ask for a word or phrase and he would make up a song right on the spot. I do that! It's fun and keeps the wits and mind functioning. Example for my son, Joshua SMOKEY THE CAT Smokey was a little gray cat Friendly as could be Who would come and visit us Whenever we sat outdoors He would come and look for treats But when the door was held open He would never run inside
TWO When I was a little girl On my daddy's knee He would tell me stories To wash away my fears As I got older, Daddy said to me Never be afraid To follow your dreams.
THREE Hello darlin' How are you It's been awhile Since I've seen your smile And now tonight I'm gonna hold you tight With my arms wrapped around you. I can't believe It's you and me Your kisses sweet Make me tingle to my feet And even though You'll have to go Tonight I'm gonna love you With my arms wrapped around you.
ONE As I walk down this road that is my life Never knowing what's around each bend I don't worry I'll get by Cause I know someone's watching me from on high
