1. The name Vera means truth or light, which is ironic because the whole story is based of a lie that a girl name Vera made up to entertain herself when a stranger came into her house.
2. The last line is ironic because we think that she is being truthful but really she is really making up the whole story
3. When he says �one would think he has seen a ghost� this is ironic because the girl said that the husband was dead and to Mr. Nuttel if he came back he would be a ghost. "I hope Vera has been amusing you?" is another way because she really has been making up a story to amuse herself.
4. 3rd person limited, if the author told us everything then we would know that she is joking.
5. He is a nerves man and does not stop talking about his problem. He is very week minded and does not like to speak to people unless it is about him.
