More Detailed Minutes from May 2:

The 7-period day sub-committee consists of: Ortega, McCabe, McEvoy, Friedman, Appleman, Kryger, Bower, Pennington, Mason, T. Tribuzi, R. Tribuzi,

Martin stated the goals of the committee to aid the transition to 7 periods in 2006/07:

1.      Creating a schedule

2.      Make sure all parties feel that they are included in the decision

3.      Garner staff preferences through a survey

Martin presented a rough draft of the staff survey for 7 periods, reviewing the questions. Department chairs offered various comments to finalize the survey.

Many questions on the survey brought up difficult questions that remain to be answered. Of particular note were many concerns about what to do with the 2nd preparation period. Martin made note of changes on his copy.

Jacquie said that teachers will get three days total paid to move, which must include packing and unpacking. The expectation is that movers are moving on June 13; everyone must be boxed by then. We are beginning with English/Soc. Stud. Movers will “pack” your stuff for you. However, teachers won’t have access to the building until July. Things need to be labeled and inventoried. We’ll be getting memos during the week of 5/9.
