In our society, many developments occur and people always have a conflict about the development. Samangeum reclamation project would be a great example for this. Samangeum reclamation project is a project that is trying to make 40,000 and 100ha of new land on Jun Book using 1billion and 868million won. However, there are many opinions about the project. There are people who do not want to continue the project and there are who want to. Any how I will explain specific information about Samangeum project and the pros and cons about this project.
First, the pros say that this project should continue on, so that we could have more land for farming. In the past most of the rice produced was made on the human made land. Also, UN suggested Korea to make plans about having no water. Samngeum project would be a great solution for this. In addition to this, local residents want to develop great buildings and other stuff on the land. Nevertheless, there aren��t only positive things on something. The followings will show the cons about Saemangeum reclamation project.
Most of the people who do not support Samangeum project are people who are concerned about our environment. Because of the project many sandbank might get destroyed and some marine products would finally extinct. In Korea, sandbanks are 3times more useful land than land used on farming, which meaning making land for farming is not an effective thing. People, who want to continue the project because they already used lot of money on the project, should change their minds. The project has just been done 1/5~1/20. If we keep on doing this project, lot of money will be wasted and there would be plenty of citizens who will regret about their decision. Lastly, there couldn��t be a pure economic development without conservation of our environment.
In short, there are many beneficial and unbeneficial effects on the project. However, in my opinion, we should stop the project as soon as possible, for our future kids. Also I agree with the statement that says ��there couldn��t be a pure economic development without conservation of our environment.
