Green Elizabethan
I have plans for a green Elizabethan era gown, based on this portrait. I have loved it since I first ran across the black and white picture in Janet Arnold. There is, of course, a lot of gold lace/embroidery to do...
I have some green cotton velvet (free op shop curtains, not too badly faded), and I have some pale gold silk for the undersleeves. I have not yet found something I like for lining the sleeves - maybe a burgundy satin or something?
I plan to base it largely off the pattern worked out for the PDSvN dress, with modifications to make it work better. I do plan to make it with an open skirt, and the fringing around the petticoat hem like the PDSvN is supposed to have.
