McKenzie. __________A Love So Strong__________ "What the hell?!" were the first words that five girls and two cats heard as they were so rudely awakened from their deep sleep. Serena sat bolt up right and looked to her side, only to see Darien sitting next to her with his arms still locked around her waist. "Darien..." she breathed softly, but then her eyes opened wide when she remembered that he *didn't* remember. The four girls suddenly jumped up and faced the Prince and Princess with wide eyes. "Uh-oh," Mina mumbled under her breath. 'We're dead!' Darien, for his part, didn't mind Serena being there, he was just curious as to why she was. Why all of them were. "I'm only going to ask this once, what the hell are all of you doing here?" he seethed. The four girls looked at the cats, who had conveniently shrunken back into the pile of blankets on the ground. Lita was the first who could look into Darien's eyes and she had an idea. "Figures that you wouldn't remember!" she shouted at him. The girls looked to their friend in shock. She wouldn't tell him would she? "Lita!" Amy hissed. "Remember what?" Darien growled, his arms still firmly wrapped around Serena's waist. He suddenly pulled them tighter and Serena cried out in pain. Darien released Serena who grabbed her side, the side where the night before, she had taken a severe energy attack for her love. "What is it, Serena?" Darien asked. Lita grit her teeth together. "It's your fault! That's what it is!" she yelled at him. The girls were about to jump forward and cover her mouth, that is, until she continued. "After you broke up with her, Serena ran to the park and cried! Then, one of those Cardian things that have been attacking lately attacked her!" Darien's face paled as he looked down at his girl-ex-girlfriend who quickly looked away. Serena got up off the couch and walked over to her friends. Before he could speak again, Raye got in on the action. "And then you walked by and stood there! The Cardian turned its focus from her to you and when you were about to be hit, Serena jumped and took the hit for you!" Raye yelled at him as she walked up and jabbed a finger near his face, her temper seething. Darien's face paled even more and he looked again to Serena for conformation of what they were saying. Serena simply kept her eyes down cast and stayed close to her friends. "She wouldn't have even been in that park if you hadn't broken up with her!" Lita nearly screamed. Serena's head snapped up and she spoke. "Lita, we don't judge him. He doesn't love me anymore, and that's that. Let's go," she whispered. As the girls gathered their stuff, Serena faced Darien with sad eyes. "Thank you, for letting me stay last night, Darien. It will be easier now to hide the injury since it has had time to heal. Thanks for letting the girls stay here too, because of how you feel, I guess it's best they came too." "Serena," Mina called from the door, "Darien's a big boy, he can take care of himself. Let's go." Darien reached out but pulled back and Serena nodded her understanding. "I'll always love you, Darien," she whispered before turning and running out of the apartment. Darien watched longingly after her and his gaze met for others. One of fiery purple velvet, which told of the bond he shared with Serena. A second of emerald green said how strong they had been. The pair of dark blue spoke of how far they had come. Lastly, sky blue spoke of the love that he still held for her. The five stared at each other for a long time before four girls turned and walked out of the room with the door closing softly behind them. And Darien sill remembered nothing of what they had spoken about. But somehow, he didn't doubt that they were telling the truth. He didn't doubt them at all. ******************************************************************* Serena waited for her friends to finish what ever they were doing by the elevator. As the four girls filed out of the door, Serena pushed the down button and waited for the familiar ding of the elevator to announce its presence. A tear slowly made its way down Serena's cheek. She had said it. She had said she loved him and the only thing he could do was sit there and not acknowledge her. She didn't care if he was jealous and still loved her, it still hurt. More than she could say. ******************************************************************* The girls gave up. After two hours of trying to cheer their princess up, they left her alone in the Crown Fruit Parlor and asked Andrew to try because, as much as they wanted to stay, they had other places they needed to be. Andrew agreed and worriedly watched Serena as she didn't touch her food and didn't play Sailor V games. Allen walked in to the Fruit Parlor as soon as he saw Serena's four friends leave. He didn't like them, and they didn't like him. It was an understanding. An understanding that next time they saw each other, one of the group would probably beat Allen up. 'Probably that Amazon girl, Lita,' Allen thought bitterly as he took the seat across from Serena. Serena looked up blankly and frowned when she saw Allen. "What do you want, Allen?" she asked tiredly. Normally this guy was tolerable, but today...she wasn't sure she could put up with him. "Actually," Allen started coolly, "I was wondering if you wanted to-" "Not today, Allen," Serena interrupted. Andrew saw what Allen was trying to do, and was about to go and rip the kid, having learned from the girls that he was the reason Darien broke up with Serena, away from her, when a familiar head of black hair walk into the arcade, avoided the somber girl and plopped down in front of Andrew. "Hi, Andrew," Darien greeted with a tried voice. Andrew didn't answer and Darien turned his head to where Serena was and his eyes went wide. Allen was sitting across from her smiling and reaching for her hand. Darien felt his jealousy boil over as Allen took Serena's hand and she looked up at him... "Okay, now I'm throwing that punk out," Andrew growled as he picked up a sign from under the cupboard and marched over there. Darien almost laughed. He knew what that sign said. Andrew had used it on him and Serena once not that long ago, back when they still 'hated' each other. Darien smiled as Serena pulled her hand out of Allen's and Andrew shoved the sign in his face. Allen stomped out of the Parlor and Darien smiled as Andrew showed Serena the sign, and she blushed at the memory of when she had seen it. It read, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Now leave or I'll sic the big, buff guy hiding in the back on you." Darien smiled, that is, he smiled until Andrew began dragging Serena over to the counter. "Thanks for the save, Andrew!" Serena said with a grateful smile. "I don't know what's up with that guy...he seems nice, but he gives me the creeps!" "Yeah, him and his sister," Darien agreed, having just come back from an encounter with Anne. "Anne's just a brat," Serena spat. She had been at school for almost a month and all Anne ever did was try to out do Serena in everything. Though she had fallen behind recently because she was so tired for some reason. Andrew smiled. "Yes, they're both pains...like the two of you!" With out warning, and surprising strength, Andrew grabbed Serena and Darien's arms and dragged them into the back room, slammed the door shut and locked it. "And you're not coming out until you work this out!" ******************************************************************* Anne had watched Allen's display the whole time he was inside the Crown, and she didn't like it. She didn't like it, or Serena for that matter. She had heard that Darien had broken up with Serena, but didn't know how to use that to her advantage because Darien still wouldn't look at her. And they were in the back room...Anne smiled. 'Time to take care of the brat,' she thought with an evil smile as she disappeared. ******************************************************************* "Andrew!" Darien yelled as he banged on the door several times, but to no avail. "Let us out!" "Not until you work everything out!" Andrew yelled back. Darien gave up and leaned on the door with his head down. "Is it really that hard to look at me, Darien?" Serena whispered. Darien's head snapped up and he started at Serena who was standing across from him. "Are you really...that mad at me?" she asked with tears in her eyes. A few tears trailed down her cheek and Darien threw caution to the wind, if only for a moment, and reached out and wiped her tears away with his thumb. Serena started under the touch, but held his hand to her face. "Please, Darien. I know why you...broke up with me. Allen doesn't mean anything, and the fact that I have to leave...it's not my fault. I-I..." "Serena..." Darien whispered as he moved in closer. He didn't care anymore. He felt awful, he felt jealous and he felt love. He felt it inside of him, in his heart, and it was all because of this girl, this angel standing before him. "Yes?" "Just shut up." Darien gathered Serena in his arms and kissed her. He had sworn that unless he got answers, he wouldn't see her again. 'To hell with that,' Darien told himself. He kissed her like he was starving, when it had only been a day since he had last kissed her. Serena squealed, but gave up trying to make any noise after a few moments. The kiss could have lasted an eternity, and neither of them would have noticed or cared. A flash of light was what ended up separating the two from their intimate moment. Serena pulled back and gasped when she saw a familiar pink alien hovering in front of herself and Darien. "Okay, brat! I've had enough of you! All you've done is come in between me and Allen, and I won't have it anymore!" Anne yelled. "What are you talking about?" Serena cried as she pushed Darien behind her slightly. Anne became even madder. "I'm talking about how you keep distracting him from me! Well no more, Serena!" Anne's eyes began to glow, "You're going to see the Doom Tree. It could use more energy anyway." Anne's eyes flashed and a pink glow surrounded Serena and she began to fade away. Darien ran forward and went to grab Serena's hand, only to grab on to air. Serena looked at her hands and arms before she looked back up to Darien with sadness in her eyes. She didn't know what was going on, but she was determined to find out. Darien reached up, and his hand almost touched Serena's cheek as she smiled and clutched the locket that was on her blouse. "I'm sorry..." she mouthed. Darien stepped back and looked puzzled as Serena pulled her broach off. Anne furrowed her brow as she watched Serena raise the locket above her head. "Anne!" a voice called as another person, a human, teleported in to the room. It was Allen. Serena and Darien gasped at his use of power and Anne turned around angrily to face him. "Allen! You had to show up didn't you?" "Huh?" Allen mumbled as he got a look at what was going on. Serena was trapped in a teleport while Darien was standing beside her, obviously trying to get to her somehow. "Anne! What is the meaning of this? You aren't supposed to attack just any human!" "What is going on?!" Darien screamed as he again tried to grab his fading love. There was no answer, and Serena still held her locket above her head and cried out. "MOON CRYSTAL POWER!" As the words were spoken from Serena's mouth, the teleport was complete, leaving only Darien to catch a glimpse of Sailor Moon, who stood in Serena's place. Anne and Allen gasped and Darien didn't even react. "Serena can't be...!" Allen yelled as he transformed into his alien self. Not thinking, the two aliens teleported to the Doom Tree, where Serena or Sailor Moon was awaiting them. Darien's breathing became shallow as he took in what had just taken place in the past minute. 'Serena...Sailor Moon...locket... aliens...Anne and Allen...' his eyes narrowed, '...the girls!' Darien screamed an inhuman scream and Andrew opened the door within seconds. "What is it?" Darien didn't answer, he ran as fast as he could out side and turned the corner. He knew the girls were in on this, he didn't know how, but he knew. Gritting his teeth, Darien continued to the place he knew they would be. The Cherry Hill Temple. ******************************************************************* Ami let the pencil that she was supposed to be doing her homework with teeter back and forth between her fingers. She couldn't concentrate on homework, reading, nothing! She still felt that something was wrong, they should have been with Serena at the Crown still. 'But Andrew did agree to help us...I wonder what he was thinking?' "Guys," Lita began, "I think we should go and get Serena. I feel awful just sitting here!" "Yeah," Raye agreed. "Darien not remembering is really hard on her, but this...it's just so much worse!" Amy smiled and was about to open her mouth when the door opened. "This is the second time I've said this," Darien's voice said from the door, "and this time I want the real answer...what the hell is going on here?!" The four girls and two cats looked up from their nap places, study areas or comic corners and faced the tall man standing in the doorway. Fire burned in his eyes, a rage that couldn't be described by any of the girls or the cats as they watched him slam the thin door and cross his arms. "Um...what is it Darien?" Mina asked carefully. Darien's eyes grew even more full of fire as he answered. "Don't try and pull this one over me. I *know* now. I know why she was hurt yesterday, why she's been so fond of disappearing lately, and why whenever that beeper of hers goes off she has to leave! Now, Sailor Venus," the girls gasped and looked to Luna who was just as flabbergasted as all of them, "the enemy of the Sailor Scouts has Serena!" "WHAT?!" Raye yelled as she jumped up and knocked over a bowl of popcorn that was resting on her lap. The others did much the same and began demanding information from Darien who only gave them the information they needed. "Listen, I know Serena's Sailor Moon, and I figured out on the way here that all of you are the Sailor Scouts. I don't know how I know this but...the two aliens are your enemies and Allen Granger is one of them." "Allen?" Luna whispered. "It makes sense..." Luna turned up to Darien, who didn't seem too shocked that a cat could talk. "Those weird feelings we were always getting around him," Artemis whispered. "I need to find her..." he whispered. "Isn't there some guy who protects Sailor Moon?" Darien asked. The girls were startled as they continued to listen. He didn't know... "Tuxedo Mask, where was he?! If he's her protector why wasn't he there to help her!?" Darien yelled as tears streaked down his cheeks. The memory of her fading right in front of him was powerful and Darien didn't block it. "Darien," Amy whispered softly, "you remember what we said earlier today? About Serena being attacked?" Darien nodded, unable to speak. "Well, that was only part of the truth. Serena *did* protect you, because after the battle, Tuxedo Mask didn't see the alien come up behind him. Sailor Moon pushed Tuxedo Mask out of the way and..." Amy trailed off, letting the sentence hang in the air. Darien's eyes went wide and his breathing was short, "It-it can't be!" "Well it is!" Lita yelled, surprising everyone. "I'm tired of sitting around here! You said Allen was one of the aliens? That means his sister probably is too! Come on, I know where they live!" she said as she stood up and pulled out her power stick. "JUPITER POWER!" "MERCURY POWER!" "VENUS POWER!" "MARS POWER!" When the transformation complete, Darien grabbed his head and cried out in pain. "Not...agAIN!!!!!!!!" he screamed as he flashed white and transformed into Tuxedo Mask. Standing up, Tuxedo Mask turned to the Sailor Scouts. "Where do they live, Jupiter?" he asked. "And how do you know?" Mina questioned with a sly smile. "They live 2232 South Cherry Hill Drive." The group took off running with Tuxedo Mask in the lead. "And I know cause if that little punk tried anything, I could say 'I know where you live' and not lie!" Tuxedo Mask grit his teeth and pushed himself harder as he felt Sailor Moon's fear rise. 'Hold on Serena! I'm coming love! I'm coming!' ******************************************************************* Sailor Moon groaned and rolled over as she woke up. It was cold where she was...so cold... Opening her heavy eyes, Sailor Moon surveyed the area around her. The first thing she saw was a giant root next to her and she sat up. Looking around, there was no sky, no walls, nothing. It was as if the room existed separate from the rest of the world. The only thing, living or other wise, in there besides Sailor Moon was a tree. A huge tree with withered leaves and dry looking bark. "What is this?" she whispered and shivered as she heard her voice echo through the vastness of the cavern. "Is anyone there?" "Well...you're awake, Sailor Moon. No, Serena Tsukino," a familiar male voice said coldly. Sailor Moon turned to the sound of the voice and gasped when she saw Allen, in alien form, floating above her. "Allen?" Sailor Moon whispered. Allen lifted a flute to his lips and began playing. Anne came into view behind him and rested her head on his shoulder. Sailor Moon listened to the haunting melody for several moments. 'So sad,' she thought. Sailor Moon looked up at the two again, 'Is that what they feel?' The melody stopped and Sailor Moon could only stare at the two. "Sailor Moon," Anne started, in an almost sweet voice, she opened her eyes and they flashed red, "die." Sailor Moon gasped and then screamed as an invisible energy blast hit her and slammed her into the tree. "Darien!" To be continued... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! Oh how I love doing that to you!
