Together Again, short story, June, 2001, By Sailor GlitterGirl Okay, I got up this morning, and I just had this craving to write a shortstory, with some comedy and -of course- some romance. In a unique setting. Okay, this isn't all that original; I've seen one or two other stories kinda like this one, taking place right after 'Treed,' in Sailor Moon R, right after the Scouts start bombarding Sailor Moon and Darien with questions, just after Ann and Alan have left in their plant bubble thingy. Hope you enjoy! Sailor GlitterGirl DEDICATED TO JAMES-CHAN AND ROSE-CHAN; THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP WITH MY BOYFRIEND 'PROBLEM.' *****Together Again***** By Sailor GlitterGirl Rated: G At: sailorglittergirl@sailormoon.com "So are you two an item?" "Guys-" "Yeah c'mon," "We want all the-" "Guys, ple-" "Details. "Yeah, come on girlfriend, give us the dough!" "Girls, come ON, I-" "Come on Meatball Head, answer us!" "Yeah, say something!" "C'mon, girls give us a break-" "We're WAITING?" "-I only remembered like two minutes ago." "So are you guys finally together or not?" "Speak up girl, we-" "WILL YOU PLEASE SHUT UP??????!!!!!!!!!!" Panting, hair a mess, eyes crazed, fists clenched as she stood there, tapping her foot, Sailor Moon looked frightening. Darien, eyes dancing, chuckled softly. "THANK you!" The Champion of Justice breathed, glaring at the four girls in similar outfits, who stood before them, staring at their leader with fear and shock spelled on their foreheads. Then... "Yup, they're together," Sailor Venus grinned. "Uh-huh, definately," Jupiter grinned savagly as Sailor Moon threw up her hands in dispair. "Oh, yeah," Mars agreed. "Wouldn't be so fiery if they weren't." "Look at how her cheeks are all red," Mercury observed innocently. "Oh, that DOES-" "Hush, meatball head," A soft, deep voice and a pair of arms around her from behind stopped the blonde Sailor Scout leader as she starting advancing on the wickedly grinning girls. The arms pulled her back against a strong, black clad chest, and she suddenly felt herself surrounded by a tickling sensation. When it faded, the slight wind blew a red silk lined cape around them both. An arm found it's way under her knees, the other clutching her torso, and Sailor Moon suddenly found herself airborne in the arms of Tuxedo Mask. Shouts of 'unfair' and 'we want details later!' followed to the two lovers as they jumped from roof top to roof top, using their heightened abilities while transformed. Finally leaping down from the top of the jewelry store, Sailor Moon laughing, Tuxedo Mask smiling, the two ducked into an alleyway, and for a moment brightly colored lights burst from the alley before a couple ran out, both smiling brightly as the sun burst forth from over the horizon in distance. The two of them stood on the side walk for a moment, gazing at the rising sun with reverence and thankfulness that they were alive to see it. Together. "I can hardly belive it." Darien heard a small, choked voice from beside him. Turning, he tilted Serena's face up to look at him, one arm wrapped securly around her, as if he never meant to let her go ever again. Which he didn't. "You can't believe what?" He asked softly. Blushing, Serena looked down slightly. "A few things," She looked at the sun again, and smiled. "I can't believe I'm alive to see that sun rising, for one. For another I can hardly grasp that Ann and Alan are finally...free, and that the enemy is gone. I know that our fighting probably isn't over, but at least we'll get a little break, most likely." She looked away from the horizon, gazing down at her shoes, Darien's hand still cupping her face. Darien knew his love too well to think that was all. "And...?" He ventured. A small, almost non existent sob escaped her throat, and before he could ask her what was wrong and comfort her, she thew herself deeper into his arms, her own small arms wrapped tightly around his neck as she sobbed into his shoulder. Folding her in his arms as tight as he could without hurting her, Darien simply stroked her hair and rubbed her back, waiting for her to calm down. Her tears slowly subsided, but she stayed in his tight embrace, drinking in the sensation of being in his arms again. This was literally the first time in over a thousand years that they'd been like this, holding each other, loving each other, just enjoying being in the others arms. Finally, Serena was able to speak. "But most of all," she whispered, "I can't...I can't believe that...that we..." "That we're finally together again." Darien finished for her, his voice just as quiet. Another cry choked her, and more tears found their way down her face as Darien gently pulled away, just enough to be able to see her face. Gently wiping away her tears with his fingers, he pressed his forehead to hers, looking into her eyes, and holding her tight. "When I first talked you, when you threw that test paper at me, that wasn't the first time I'd seen you," He closed his eyes as he remembered. "I'd go out of my way to make sure I got to see you at least once a day. Before I laid eyes on you, my life was...colorless. Even Andrew couldn't do much to brighten it. Then...then an angel walked into my life. A joyful, giving, wonderfull, beautiful, innocent, smiling, happy, gorgeous young woman seemed to weave colors and light and hope into my life, just by looking at her. "Then she hit me on the head with a wadded up piece of paper, and I thought I was in heaven when she looked at me. At ME! I thought I was going to die right then and there to have those angel eyes turned on me. It was all I could do to keep from sweeping her up and kissing her all over, and whisking her off to a place where she'd be mine alone, and where I'd treat her like the queen and angel and goddess she was." He shook his head. "But noooooo...what comes out instead? A comment that started a heated rivalry, issued a enimity with the one woman that I could ever possibly hope to love. "Then, well, things starting crashing down on me all at once. I started dreaming about a princess in my dreams, a girl who kept begging me for some sort of crystal, to set her free." He opened his eyes to see her gazing up at him in wonder. He pulled his forehead from hers, but stayed close, and placed one hand on her cheek, stroking her face. "I found out that I was a warrior against evil and I met a beautiful warrior maiden, fighting in the name of the moon. I felt an overwhelming sense of protectiveness for her, and I didn't have the faintest idea why. All I knew was that if something happened to her, I would just die inside. And slowly, I felt myself falling in love with her." A tear slipped down Serena's face. She was slightly confused. These three woman he talked about. A girl, a princess, and a warrior. They remotely resembled her, but, the way he was describing them...they- he couldn't possibly mean her! She sniffed as she felter her prince's arm tighten around her, and the single tear being wiped away as she closed her eyes. "But the reason I fell in love with her was because she was so much like my true love, that girl that thought me her mortal enemy. And the princess...even though she was only in my dreams I felt that if I knew her I would love her, too. I thought I was going crazy. Driven mad by my knowledge that the one girl that had my heart would never know or accept it. I thought that out of desperation my mind was trying to make up similar angels to make up for that one that I truly loved. "But then, on one very fateful day, the one battle that I will never regret, I found out that all three of my loves, were you." Gasping ever so slightly as she heard the words, Serena looked up, eyes wide, tears and wonder making them glitter like star kissed sapphires. Parting her lips to say something, she found that no sound came out, and more tears slid from her eyes as she looked up at her prince. He thought all of those things of...her? Beautiful? Wonderful? A princess, even when he hadn't known that she really was -technically- a princess? Still staring, a small, almost non existence gasp escaped her slightly parted lips as she felt Darien's lips descend on hers, capturing her mouth in a wave of bliss. Her arms tighted around his neck, one hand sifting through his silky black hair, completely lost to the shivers of delight his caresses were sending through her, his arm snaked around her small waist, imprisoning her to him, his other arm gliding up her back to swim through her hair, clutching the back of her head and pressed her mouth into his harder. Pulling at each other's lips, drinking in more of the other's taste, they were finally forced to seperate, only slightly, as they gasped for air. "I love you..." Serena whispered, her head resting on his shoulder. She felt Darien place a light kiss on the top of her head, his grip on her tightening. "I know, my princess, and I love you more." He buried his face in her hair, her meatballs finally coming loose, the wind whipping the golden masses of her hair all around them, a hurricane of gold whirling around the two lovers and they relished simply being together again. The End Short, I know, but hence the name 'short story.' Sequel, maybe? If you want to know what happens next, then ago read 'Fairly Obvious' by Alicia Blade (I think. Gomen to the real author if I'm wrong!) It's what I would write. Well, until next time! Sailor GlitterGirl
