Hey guys! Here's my Mamo-day fic, so I hope you all enjoy! I wrote this for the SMRFF mailing list's Mamo-week celebration. I hope you all like it. Also, there's some important notes you may want to read at the end to help you better understand this ficcie. And one other thing: Minako-chan is my fave character, she's just like me. (I'm slightly proud of that!) So me making fun of her a lot in this fic isn't because I don't like her, it's just cause that's who she is. E-mail: stefaniecraig@hotmail.com Website: http://clix.to/stef If you add me to the list of any of these, tell me that you got my name /# from my fics! ICQ: 63467432 AIM: Stefchan2 Yahoo!: Steff_chan MSN: stefaniecraig@hotmail.com RATING: PG-13 DISCLAIMER: Hey, look at the quote below for THAT answer! Quote of the Week: "Ask a stupid questions, get a stupid answer." - unknown OPERATION: THE NAME MAMO-CHAN 1/1 It's a question that has been asked a thousand times over. A question that, on it's own, has stumped the minds of many scholars as well as Mizuno Ami-chan; and that is quite a feat, may I remind all of you. Why in the world am I called "Mamo-chan"? I mean...not that the name hasn't grown on me, or that I don't like it (if that information leaks the Senshi or Motoki, I'll have the head of whoever told them), it's just that I don't know WHY Usako decided to call me that. And as I'm sure you already know, I, idiot that I am, decided to find out. It all started about two days before my birthday, Usako and I had been married for several months by now, but let's face it, the Honeymoon phase hadn't left us yet, so neither of us got to the Crown as often as we would have liked. Okay, so we didn't want to go to the Crown. It was August, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping and the kids were screaming when I got inside of the Crown Arcade/Fruit Parlor and sat down on one of the bar stools where Motoki, good ol' faithful Motoki, was wiping down the counters and saying hello to the other customers. A few minutes later, he came down to my end of the counter with a cup of coffee and a smile. "Well, so nice to see you again after so long away, Mamoru." His grin got even wider here and I frowned at him while blushing. Like I said, Usako and I were still in the Honeymoon Phase. "Nice to see you too, Motoki," I bit out icily while I sipped my coffee, the nectar of the gods. Motoki chuckled and leaned over the counter. "Seriously, you and Usagi-chan have been missing in action for nearly three months. I just wanted to see how you two were doing," he explained honestly...I think. I had to smile. "We're both doing great. Usako wanted me to say hello to everyone when I got here today." "Yeah, where is she?" Motoki asked. "She's never missed a chance to come here and play video games, even if she is out of high school now." I nodded my understanding. It was true enough, Usako sill wanted to play games and be young, and at that time, the Senshi and I weren't going to stop her. There wasn't much time left before Crystal Tokyo. "She had work today, so I decided to come over today to see you and get some coffee." "Mamo-chan?" a girl behind the counter suddenly called, puzzling me. She was obviously new there and looked slightly confused as she looked at a piece of paper. "Minna-san, I'm looking for someone named Mamo-chan! Would Mamo-chan please come up here?" she called. "I have a message for him!" I blushed and let my head let my head bang on the counter as I tried to hide myself from the people who were laughing at me. Yes, they all knew who the girl was talking about. Motoki somehow managed to stifle his laughter long enough to explain to the new girl that when a message for "Mamo-chan" comes to just give it to him, and if he's not there to ask for "Mamoru- san". Motoki took off his apron and sat down at the stool next to me with the piece of paper that the girl had been holding on to. "Gimme that," I mumbled as I grabbed the note from his hand. Motoki only chuckled as I read the message. Usako had called before I had arrived, obviously. The message was hard to read, but I got what I needed to. 'Usagi will be late tonight, make dinner.' I frowned suddenly and Motoki looked at me strangely. "What is it?" "Usako will be late tonight," I said. Motoki nodded and leaned back in the seat. The two of us were silent for a few moments before Motoki leaned against the counter. "I've been thinking-" "I was wondering about the smoke." Glaring at me, Motoki continued, obviously he had REALLY been thinking. "I've been thinking, and, well...WHY does Usagi-chan call you 'Mamo-chan'?" I blinked as he asked the question, but didn't move. "I mean, most girls her age, when you first started dating, would have called you 'Mamoru-san' maybe 'Mamoru-chan' or just plain 'Mamoru'. But Usagi-chan started calling you 'Mamo- chan'." He turned to me. "Now tell me, have you EVER wondered about that?" I turned to Motoki and looked him straight in the eye. "Well to be honest...No." Motoki fell over, but quickly picked himself up. "You never asked?!" he exclaimed, seemingly scandalized. I looked at him strangely before hearing some familiar voices. "MA-MO-RU-SA-AN!" four girls sang out from behind me. I turned around and faced, you guessed it, the Inner Senshi. Oh Lord. Mako put a hand on my shoulder and grinned. No, I didn't see her grin, but this is MAKOTO we're talking about. And if the looks I was getting from the other Senshi, who's faces I could see, were any indication, Mako-chan obviously looked as bad, if not worse than them. "Soo...married life FUN?" Mako asked. Rei-chan, who was sitting to my right, joined in and poked my ribcage. "Yeah, you two have been gone for a while...we were starting to wonder if you were gonna have the kid with out telling us!" My eyes went wide, thinking Usako pregnant already, but then I realized what she had meant and simply glared at Rei-chan over my coffee mug. Minako-chan sat down on the other side of Motoki and leaned over so she could see me, and I her. "Mamoru-san, with as long as you've been gone, it's almost as though Usagi-chan is living up to her na-" I cut Minako off with a stern glare, my face now permanently red I'm sure. "If you are here because Motoki called you as soon as I walked in so that way you could all tease me about what Usako and I have been up to for the past three months, then you should have been here five minutes ago when Motoki was doing just that!" I told them as I took another swig of my coffee. "Usoooo..." all of them, even Ami-chan, moaned. (Means: Lie or no way) Motoki took his cue to cheer the girls up. "There, there, now! Now, instead of teasing Mamoru, we're trying to find out why Usagi decided to call him 'Mamo-chan!'" The girls went silent, and that's when I knew I was in trouble. I reached into my pocket and put my money on the counter. "I'm going to go, minna-san, matta ne!" I said as I tried to get up. I wasn't fast enough, seeing as though Minako grabbed my arm and smiled sweetly up at me. "Oh no, Mamoru-san, I think you should stay." If you didn't know Aino Minako, you would have thought she wanted to have a friendly lunch, catch up on life, and possibly drink tea. Thankfully, or not, I know Minako, and the look she was giving me means 'you stay or I make you stay.' If you spend enough time with her and Artemis, you begin to notice that they both do the same thing. I, for one, did not intend to stay. "Minako-chan," I said, as cheerfully as I could manage, "I really should go. Usako will be home soon-" "Usagi-chan will be home late," Motoki put in for me. I glared at him before continuing, "and I really need to do some laundry..." I stopped. I began to notice the look on Minako's face had gone from the sweet and innocent look that was neither sweet nor innocent, to the kowaii-faced Minako. You know, the one where her head becomes twice the size it should, and bright red? That one. "Mamoru-saaaaan," she hissed out, her voice turning scary, and I gulped. "I must insist that you stay with ussssss..." The walls seemed to close around me and next thing I knew, the four girls, Motoki and I were in the closest booth, and they were discussing ways to find out how the name "Mamo-chan" had come to be. Slowly, my curiosity began to get the best of me. It was true enough, there were many other things that were more proper than "Mamo-chan," even though it was Usako doing the naming. Why Mamo-chan? ****** I woke up the next morning, August second, and gently pushed Usako off of my chest. The two of us had the next few days off of work, and had decided to go and visit our friends, whom we had so dearly missed. Well, she did, I got enough of all of them yesterday, that is, until we, yes we, came up with a plan. Mako-chan had named our plan "Operation: The Name Mamo-chan." It wasn't original, and I for one didn't like the name. It sounded like something Usako would have called an attempt to get together with me when I didn't remember our past. Don't ask me which time, I stopped counting after a while. The 'Operation' had been divided into five different parts. Part one consisted of Minako and Usako at brunch and was named "Lovely Lunch". She was supposed to casually bring up the reason I was named. The second one was called "Secret Shopping" where Mako was supposed to insult my name, only to a certain degree, and see if Usako would blurt out why I was 'Mamo-chan' and possibly how important the name was to her. The third was called "Study Skills" and consisted of Ami not directly asking, but more picking Usagi's brain for the information to the point that she didn't even know that she was giving it out. The fourth was for Rei and called "Conversational Hearts" (AN: ;) EA, it just stuck in my mind!) where Rei would simply talk to Usagi about, what she said, were the normal things she talked to her about. They would gossip until they hopped on to the subject. Rei said they had talked about nicknames before, so it wasn't a problem. And the fifth plan, you ask? It's not even really a plan, if the girls fail, I'll ask. That's what I wanted to do in the first place, but for some reason, Motoki insisted on setting up the Crown as a headquarters. He said he didn't want to be part of the direct "action" but he wanted to know all the details. Basically, I don't think they trusted me to give them the answer if I knew it. I looked at the clock and managed not to groan. I had to get Usako up, Operation: The Name Mamo-chan, was about to begin, and she was the key player. ****** "'Operation: The Name Mamo-chan' has begun!" Rei whispered as we began to follow, not to be confused with stalk, Usako on her day. She and Minako were scheduled for brunch and nine am at the Cafe de Creme. Minako had reserved two booths, one for her and Usako and the other for myself and Rei. We sat down behind Minako and Usako and began to listen to their conversation. It was everything I knew it would be. They hugged first, squealed over something about the honeymoon that I'd prefer not to mention, talked about what had been going on in Minako's life, mostly her modeling. Nothing really exciting, until Rei finally stood up and glared at Minako. I turned around and saw Minako sweatdrop. "So, Usagi-chan," she began shakily, "why do you call Mamoru-san 'Mamo-chan?'" If I had been standing up, I would have fallen over. Rei looked ready to explode. "Na-nani, Minako-chan?" Usako asked in confusion. "Why so suddenly?" Minako slammed her hands onto the table. "Because! It's driving me crazy!" Rei was now hitting her head on the table and muttering things such as "kill" "moron" "baka" "ditz" "blondes" and "fire to all". I made a mental note to not get on Rei-chan's bad side. Usako must have given Minako a strange look, knowing Usako, because Minako groaned and pressed on. "That name! Why did you have to call him that?! It could have been anything, even 'Kakkoii-san!' But you called him Mamo-chan." (Means: cool) This time, I did fall out of my seat, but Rei wasn't that far behind. "Minako-chan baka!" I managed to hiss. Usako heard us and next thing I knew she had turned around in her booth and was looking at Rei and I as we recovered from shock. Rei immediately stood up and ran to Minako-chan, I had never seen her move that fast, not even in battle, and then I knew why. Rei soon began to choke Minako-chan, seeing as though Usako was busy helping me up off the ground. Usako blinked her light blue eyes at me, obviously confused. "Mamo-chan, what are you doing here?" she asked as she helped me stand. Looking over her shoulder, I saw that Rei was still trying to kill Minako, not that I was surprised. With a shrug, I let her do it and kissed Usako. Hey, I'm not the one being strangled here. When Usako and I pulled apart, she smiled up at me. "So what are you doing here?" she asked sweetly and batted her eyelashes. Quickly, I used the cover story that Rei had come up with, not that I couldn't have thought of one anyway, I don't crack under pressure. Ri-ight. "Rei-chan and I were having breakfast together, Usako, I didn't even realize that you were here with Minako-chan." I smiled my best smile at her, and she looked at me curiously before grinning. "That's right, you did say you were gonna be doing something with Rei-chan!" She turned around and faced the almost dead Minako and the still alive and strangling Rei. "Ne, Rei-chan, Minako- chan, I have to get going. I promised Mako-chan that I'd meet her downtown to go shopping, so Rei-chan, I will see you tomorrow, right? Ja ne!" She turned and pecked my lips, too quick to catch her for a deeper kiss, and mouthed 'Aishiteru' before turning and leaving. Minako somehow managed to pry Rei's hands from her neck and looked confused. "I don't get it? What did I do wrong?" she asked me. Rei and I exchanged looks before simply walking out of the cafe, leaving Minako behind to pay for both of our checks. ****** An hour later found all of us, except for Usako and Mako, at the Crown. Minako was still confused as to why Rei had tried to kill her, but the others weren't when we told them. "SHE DID WHAT?!" Motoki cried out, nearly dropping the stack of dishes in his hands. People stared at him, and frankly so would I have if I hadn't know, so he lowered his voice. "She just...like that?!" Minako stirred her drink. "Well, you said to find out! You didn't say how!" "Minako-chan," Ami said with a forced smile, "we also said to be discreet." "Yeah," Minako agreed. "If I knew what that meant, I might have been able to do it. So what does it mean?" she asked with interest. I think that's when we all decided to buy Minako a dictionary for her birthday and moved on with the plan. Ami pulled out a steno note pad and looked over her notes. "Okay, Minako-chan's plan failed, and right now Usagi-chan is with Mako-chan, hopefully she will have better luck." Suddenly, Rei pulled out her Senshi communicator and began to talk. "Green Lightning, this is Red Comet, do you read me?" I watched as Ami slapped her hand to her forehead and groaned at the nicknames. From the other line, Mako answered. "I hear ya, Red. The Bunny is in sight, I will proceed with my mission." "Roger," Rei acknowledge. "Red Comet out." Ami and I exchanged looks at Rei closed her communicator. "Well," Ami sweatdropped and forced another smile, "lets hurry, Mamoru-san!" She stood, and ran from the Crown, and I followed. I had known that the Senshi were slightly out there...but now...well, never mind. I didn't even know that they had come up with those...names...I have to sweatdrop here, because they were taking this way too far. But from the looks on their faces, it was beyond to late for me to back out now. ****** It didn't take Ami and I long to find Mako and Usako. They were staked out at a designer dress store, who's name escapes me at this time, but let's put it this way, if I had it my way, my wallet would NOT step foot in this store. "There they are!" Ami whispered as she pointed to a line of mannequins. Sure enough, Usako was looking at the ticket of a dress. I saw her pale when she looked at the price, making my wallet sigh with relief, until Mako pointed up at a sign. "It's twenty-five percent off, Usagi-chan!" she exclaimed. Usako's face brightened and she grabbed the dress and ran to a dressing room. I slowly began to feel my money slip out of my hand and leaned against the nearest surface. Sure, money was not a problem when it came to Usako, but at the same time I had just bought her a new dress for her birthday...and this place was really that expensive! Who in their right mind would pay 50,000 yen for a pair of socks?! Crazy I tell you! Crazy! Ami tapped my shoulder and I looked down at her. "Mamoru-san, Usagi-chan just came out of the dressing room," she whispered while pointing. I turned my head, and got to see a glimpse of Usako in a silver evening gown before I realized that I was leaning up against a mannequin, and they were only designed to take so much weight for so long. So with little explanation as to how many piles of expensive clothes and jewelry I managed to fall into, Ami and I were running out of the store twenty seconds later. We managed to stay out of sight of Usako, but I don't think it was easy, for Mako anyway. Besides, we weren't worried about Usako seeing us at that point, we were more worried about how much that mannequin cost. Twenty minutes later, Usako came out of the shop with a shopping bag, but I'm through complaining about money. I'll complain later. Mako glanced over her shoulder at Ami and I as we continued to follow them. She glared at me, knowing that I was the one who knocked over the rack. I gulped. Mako really did look menacing when she glared. Later on, she would tell me that she had to pretend to cut herself to get Usako to stop looking at Ami and I as we made our escape. They walked in silence for a few moments before Mako brought the topic - me - up. "Ne, Usagi-chan, Mamoru-san's birthday is tomorrow isn't it?" she asked excitedly. I stopped walking for a moment. I had forgotten about that! Yeah, well, up until a few years ago I hadn't celebrated many birthdays, it wasn't really an important day to remember. "So what are you going to get him?" she inquired. Usako pondered for a moment and looked at the sky as she continued walking. She didn't hit anything though, it seemed that every person was making sure that she wouldn't hit them and they moved out of her way. "Let's see...I'm gonna give him some of this and that!" she told Mako while winking and holding a finger up. Laughing, Mako winked back. "Well, I know what this is, but what about the that?" "Oh that," Usako laughed. "That is going to be really cool. Mamo-chan will love that." Mako suddenly started giggling and stopped walking, causing Usako to stop as well. "Nani yo?" she whined as Mako continued to laugh. Usako became frustrated and got a cute little pout on her face. She stamped her foot like a child, still managing to be cute, "What is it?!" she asked. "Ne! Ne! Mako-chan!" she whined. Mako stopped laughing long enough to answer. "Well, it's just the name...I just realized how silly 'Mamo-chan' sounds!" she lied, well I hope she lied. "I mean, it's nothing against you Usagi-chan, but it is a silly name, and kinda childish sounding..." she continued to go on and I began to get angry. So I was curious as to why I was called 'Mamo-chan' and why she chose THAT name out of so many others. But now, Makoto was making fun of MY name! "IT IS NOT A SILLY NAME!!!" I exclaimed, steam coming from my ears. Mako and Usagi both turned and faced me as I glared daggers in Mako's direction, who seemed to realize that yeah, I was still there. She sweatdropped and grinned. "Mamo-chan? Ami-chan?" she whispered while blinking. She then furrowed her brow and pointed at us, "What are you doing here?" Ami looked between the pissed off me, and the giggling Mako before she made her decision. "Now, now, Mamoru-san, that is simply my opinion!" she said as she grabbed my arm and began dragging me off in the other direction. "Mamoru-san and I are discussing names of different medications! He is quite upset that I don't like this one name. Gomen nasai, Usagi-chan." Ami began to get nervous as Usako studied us intently. "So-so Mamoru-san and I will leave now!" she turned and ran, dragging me along with her. "JA!" she cried over her shoulder. I managed to blow Usako a kiss before she disappeared from my sight. When Ami realized that Usako could no longer see us, she finally stopped. We were probably two kilometers from them, but I wasn't about the point that out now. With a groan, Ami pulled out her communicator. "Guys, we've-" Motoki appeared on the other side and frowned at us. "No! Don't start like that, Ami-chan. You must begin every transmission with the password, end it with 'over' and call yourself your code name!" Ami didn't want to do it, that was evident, but she finally conceded. "Hai. Crowned Base, this is...Blue Bubble. Green Lightning has failed, we were spotted thanks to Protector. I managed to cover our tracks though, the Bunny doesn't suspect anything." There was no response and Ami sweatdropped. "Over." "Roger, Blue Bubble. This means that two of our plans have failed," Motoki said. "Tomorrow, you will commence the third operation, hopefully you will be more successful than our fallen comrades." Motoki looked sad at this. I frowned and spoke, "But none of them have died..." Motoki didn't look up and I exchanged glances with Ami. "Motoki?" He was wiping tears from his eyes. "Our...poor fallen ones! How brave they were!" he exclaimed. Ami slammed the top of her communicator down and looked very, very frightened. ****** The next day was much the same as the day before. I woke up, I woke Usako up and soon she was out the door, calling out that she had lunch with Ami while I took a shower. A half-hour later found me walking through the hospital to the cafeteria. Ami had told Usako to meet her in the hospital's cafeteria around eleven for lunch. Several of my co-workers greeted me as I walked as discreetly as possible to the designated meeting place. When I got in there, I easily spotted Ami and Usako sitting together in one of the further tables, and near them, but out of Usako's line of vision, was Minako. I stopped short when I saw Minako, not because she had ruined the first plan, but because of what she was wearing! I tried to escape back the way I came, but Minako saw me and jumped up, waving me over. I sweatdropped and walked up to her, nodding a greeting. That's when I got the full extent of what she was wearing. One of those black hats in the American detective movies was on top of her head, hiding all of her hair. She had the rest of her body covered completely by a tan trench coat. Not to mention the extra dark sunglasses. I sat down across from her, and before she could even say hello, I began to talk. "WHY are you dressed like that?!" I demanded. Minako blinked and frowned. "Well, Rei-chan told me that this is what all detectives wear! And we're trying to detect the answer to why Usagi-chan calls you 'Mamo-chan', right? So I'm a detective!" She suddenly turned slightly red. "Besides...Rei said she'd pay me 1,000 yen if I came here in the clothes she picked for me." Ah, now that explained it. Note to self: Kill Rei-chan for trying to make Minako look like an idiot. "I'll pay you twice that much to put on normal clothes," I bargained. "Deal," she said as she removed the coat, hat and glasses. She grinned and gave me her traditional "V is for Victory" sign. I sweatdropped. Oh it was going to be a long hour. The two of us stopped talking and began to listen to Ami and Usako's conversation. It sounded normal, but if you knew what you were looking for, Ami was doing her job quite well. Ami was obviously happy with her topic, and I could see why. She was talking about a baby that had been born earlier that day. "Yes, she's so beautiful, but they don't know what to name her! I'm her pediatrician since she has both down's syndrome and a hole in her stomach that needs surgery, but they don't know what to name her." She paused for a moment. "They asked me for my help, but I don't know what to name her...you've always been good with names, ne, Usagi-chan?" Usako laughed a little, and I smiled. She was relaxed, and enjoying her time with her friend. "Well...I wouldn't say I've been good with names. It's not liked I've named anyone...well, except Mamo-chan!" she laughed. I perked up. Here it comes, this is perfect, Ami is smart enough to not blow this. Across from me, Minako stood up in her seat, literally, and leaned forward to get a better listen. Ami must have looked confused, because Usako explained. "Well, I decided that I had to give Mamo-chan a unique name so I-" Usako suddenly stopped as a faint beeping sound came from Ami's pocket. Ami winced and attempted to stop the pager. "You were saying, Usagi-chan?" her voice was slightly nervous. "Ano...Ami-chan, isn't that your pager?" she asked as she tried to pry Ami's hand out of her pocket. "Shouldn't you answer it?!" Ami pulled her hand out of her pocket, causing Usako to go flying back into her seat, and onto her back, chair and all. This of course, caused her chair to knock into Minako's chair, and don't forget, Minako was standing on top of the chair. This caused Minako to fall off of her chair, and into the table, sending the food we had just gotten flying into ME, ruining the clothes I was wearing. But not my green jacket, I won't go into that beloved article of clothing's death. Ami stood up from her seat, eyes wide as saucers, as were everyone else's in the cafeteria. Usako stood up, and immediately started to apologize to Minako, not realizing who she had bumped into yet. Ami checked her pager than, and sighed. "Gomen ne, there's an emergency that I have to go to, ja ne!" she said as she gathered her things and ran off. If I didn't know Ami better, I'd say she had that all planned out. As soon as Ami had left, Usako went back to apologizing to Minako, who was suddenly not there. I blinked and looked at the empty space she had just occupied, but only saw one of those clouds of smoke that outlines where a person was before the zoomed away at top speed. Usako looked up and saw me standing near the table, she smiled. "It seems like you can't let me out of your sight, Mamo-chan," she whispered as she walked up to me and got a certain look on her face. Suddenly, this wasn't the place that I wanted to be, not that it had been before. Usako walked up to me and touched my face, I leaned down and was about to kiss her when I heard a voice shriek. "WHAT HAPPENED HERE?! Who is paying for this?!" I grabbed Usako's hand and the two of us ran away from the hospital together. When we were oh, about seven or eight blocks away, the two of us stopped and began to breathe again. "Well, that was interesting," Usako panted out. "So, Mamo-chan, what were you doing there?" she asked curiously, a slightly confused pout on her face. "Every time I've gone out in the past two days, you've been there." She giggled and winked, but thankfully didn't give me a chance to answer. "I'm gonna head over to Rei- chan's now, so I'll see you tonight, Mamo-chan." She leaned up and kissed much to briefly before running off in the other direction. I smiled after her before frowning and marching onwards, to the Crown where I'm sure Minako would be. She was probably begging Motoki to protect her when I came in and started to yell. ****** There are times where I love being right. Minako was there alright, but it appeared that she had one Motoki's defense because she smiled at me from her seat, and it wasn't the smile that meant 'I didn't do it' it was her normal smile. I looked at Motoki who simply shook his head at me. No, it wasn't worth it this time. Mako was there as well, she looked very red, from laughing I'll bet. I walked up and leaned against the counter with a sigh. "Minako-chan, you have got to be the blondest person I know," I told her honestly. Minako glared at me before smiling. "Well, at least I'm not covered in mashed potatoes and gravy!" she laughed while pointing at my shirt and pants. Finally, I realized why Mako looked red, she was trying not to laugh at me, but she gave up and burst into full-fledged laughter. Motoki was grinning and jerked his thumb to the back room of the Crown. "I keep a change of clothes in my employee locker, help yourself." Grumbling, I did just that, and emerged twenty minutes later, clean and fresh. I also liked the shirt Motoki had in there, I'd have to ask him where he got it. As I approached the counter where the girls and Motoki were, I noticed that four other girls, well three were girls one you couldn't tell sometimes, had joined them. I winced. The Outers. Apparently while I was gone, they had shown up, and Minako, Mako and Motoki had been very liberal with the information about "Operation: The Name Mamo-chan." Hotaru was smiling as Mako finished telling what had just transpired. I felt slightly happy that the stupid actions I, and the Senshi, had done were making her smile. Hotaru didn't smile much. Haruka was laughing so hard, tears were streaming down her cheeks. Michiru had this look on her face that was either a cross between disbelief and horror or horror and amusement. It was kinda hard to tell. Setsuna remained impassive, except for a small gleam of mischief in her eye. Scary. Haruka wiped away her tears when she saw me coming out. "Ne, Mamoru-san, I have to hand it to you, I thought you would have just ASKED her first!" She pounded her fist on the table and buried her head into the counter, still laughing. I turned to Michiru and frowned. "Is she drunk?" Smiling Michiru nodded. "Yes, she is, actually. She didn't realize that there was alcohol in Long Island Iced Teas." Hotaru looked slightly afraid of her 'papa' and backed into Setsuna. "I think we should leave." Haruka snapped up, suddenly sober. "We can't leave! The final phase of this plan is being put into action right now, and I want to be a part of it." "Since when did you become so adventurous, Haruka?" Setsuna asked. Haruka started for a moment before smiling. "I didn't, I just want to see this in person this time." Minako looked angry and stood up. "Hey! This time, we'll definitely get the information!" Haruka waved her hand, not paying attention. "Hai, hai, and I'm a designated driver." ****** (AN: If you've seen "Excel Saga" insert Iz-chan's weird/scary restarting the world sound here.) I'm ashamed to say that there are not many places to hide in the Hikawa Jinja, at least not outside, which is where Rei and Usako happened to be. So here's a riddle for you, where do you hide four Outer Senshi, three Inner Senshi, myself and two cats who happened to spot us on the way over? . . . . . . . . . Give up? A tree. Yeah, that's right, we were up a tree, looking over the front courtyard of the Jinja, and of course, we were eavesdropping on the conversation, but so far, names had not come up. I guess Rei became impatient, doesn't she always, and decided to bring up another topic that became related to names. Rei was sweeping the Jinja, the two had fallen into silence, when I supposed the superb idea hit her. "Ne, Usagi," Rei began. Usako looked up at Rei and smiled at her. "Hai, Rei-chan?" "Well, I don't know if you and Mamoru-san have talked about this, but...are you two planning on have children?" she asked. Usako dropped the glass she was holding in her hand and I almost fell out of the tree, but thankfully, Makoto on the branch below me broke my fall. Though she wasn't to happy about it, I was very grateful to her, until she threatened to throw me out of the tree if I didn't get off her back. I climbed back up to my branch, the Inners and Outers snickering the whole way. Usako looked slightly embarrassed, but also happy. "Well, Mamo- chan and I haven't talked about it yet, but...I want a girl and a boy!" she exclaimed happily. Rei sweatdropped, along with the rest of us. "You do realize, that the girl will be Chibi-Usa-chan, right?" Usako nodded, a big smile on her face. Rei gripped the broom tight, a strange gleam in her eye. Why, oh why, do the Senshi become so crazed over the stupidest things? "So, what would you name your boy?" Usako seemed to ponder this for a moment before looking as though she had the best idea. "KODOMO*!" she exclaimed. There was a silence around the whole yard, before Rei started yelling. "NANI YO?! BAKA USAGI! That's the dumbest name!" "Kodomo?" Michiru whispered from my left. "That is...rather odd for a child, to call them as such." "No one ever said Koneko was good with names, we have proof of that," Haruka murmured under her breath, earning a kick from Michiru. Not even phased by Rei's yelling, Usagi raised her hand out, as if expecting something. "May I borrow your broom, Rei-chan?" Rei didn't miss a beat and continued yelling while she handed over the broom. "I know what, Rei-chan," Usako walked up to the tree and smiled up at the sky...or maybe us, "let's ask Mamo-chan what he would like to name a son." With that, she took the broom and hit the tree with it several times. Within seconds all of us had tumbled out of the tree, and into a large pile on the ground. "Oh! Usagi-chan!" everyone exclaimed in surprise. Standing up simultaneously, they all began to apologize, saying they had some where else to be, and oh how tragic it was that they couldn't talk to her right now. Within seconds, they were all gone, running down the temple stairs, and I don't even want to know how they all fit into Haruka's car. So, that left myself and Usako, staring at each other, her looking smug, me looking stupid. "Usako, I was-" Usako shook her head. "I think I can guess, Mamo-chan, demo, we'll talk later, I'll see you at home." Her face reflected no emotion and she turned away, heading home. I couldn't even tell if she was mad or not. She was hiding something, I could tell that much. Worried, I turned to Rei for some help, but she had disappeared into the shrine...coward. She's already on my hit list too! I walked down the steps as fast as I could, to my car, only to find it missing. Suddenly, I knew how all of the girls had managed to escape in Haruka's car...they had taken mine too! A quick mental check confirmed that Minako knew how to hot wire cars. Oh yeah, the hit list is getting bigger all the time. So I walked home. It took about forty minutes, but I did. It felt good, but it gave me more time to worry about if Usako thought I was following her...which I was, but not for the reason she would probably think. I opened the door to our apartment and slipped my shoes off. Either Usako wasn't there, or she had gone to bed already because all the lights were off. I figured she probably had gone to one of the girl's house to find out what was going on. Sighing, I walked into the next room, but stopped short. Sitting, perfectly still, was Usako, in that dress she had been looking at the day before. There were a few candles lit, but not to much. She didn't look mad, she didn't look sad, she looked...enchanting. "Happy birthday, Mamo-chan." My birthday...I had completely forgotten about it. I was more concerned with other things, but...Usako had remembered, and I felt my heart swell at that. She loves me so much, as much as I love her. And this night, I shall not disclose to you, but let's just say, a woman really does always get her way, and all you guys out there who don't know that yet had better learn it early. The End. Stef: What?! Mamo-chan! That is not the end! Mamo-chan: Hey, you could continue this story, but you refuse to write Hentai! Don't complain to me that it ended with out an ending. Stef: I'M TALKING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AFTER YOUR PRESENT! Mamo-chan: Oh that. Do I really have to tell them that?! Stef: Yes! I'm writing this story so they can know that! Mamo-chan: Demo... Stef: *hits Mamo-chan with a paper fan, which is really iron and courtesy of Tasuki* Mou! Look, at least I didn't kill you 101 times*! Mamo-chan: True. Later that night found Usako sprawled across my chest, peaceful and both of us quite happy. Sometime during the night, she had managed to get me to tell her why I had been following her for the past two days. She was only partially surprised. We lay in silence for a few more minutes before Usako craned her head up and smiled at me. "Mamo-chan, even though it's Motoki- nii-chan's fault for you wanting to know this, do you really, really, really want to know why I decided to call you 'Mamo- chan?'" I looked at her in surprise for a moment. She was just going to tell me?! And they wanted to go through all that and if I had asked...MOU! "Well...you see, when we first started dating, I was still kinda, sorta, really mad at you for everything you had done to me, ya know, the name calling, teasing me about my grades, my hair, my crush on Motoki-nii-chan, and all that other stuff I can't remember!" She grinned, looking a little devilish. "So, I decided that as my way of getting back at you for all that, was to call you the most childish name I could think of!" She stopped smiling and looked a little confused. "It kinda stuck, and I liked it, but it did a good job at the beginning!" She laughed and then got a look at my face. I know I must have been as pale as a ghost, and twice as vengeful, because Usako was convinced I needed mouth to mouth, hey, I'm not complaining especially with what happened after I came to my senses. Afterwards, Usako and I began to plan for the revenge I now so desperately wanted to take out on Motoki and the Inners. Hey, I may have wanted to know, but I didn't even care until they had said something! Usako said that this was now part of her birthday gift to me. My revenge was gleefully taken out the next day, too. And for what the author has rated this fanfic, I couldn't tell you what it is that I did, it was very violent. Oh, what the hell. I showed them the trailer to the Saban Sailor Moon dub, as well as the Cloverway S and SuperS dub. Like I said, I was really mad. Oh, and I had a great birthday, thank you for asking. The End *Kodomo means "Child" so literally, Usagi was gonna call him "Child." *that 101 killing Mamo-chan things was done by the SMRFF's mailing list EMSiT's. (Evil Mad Scientists in Training.) The EMSiT are the best! And the lists were very funny. You can find them on this site: http://www.envy.nu/redroseb And if none of you have seen the Saban SM dub trailer, well, maybe I will send it to you if you ask. Well...how was it? *grins* Weird, I know, I know! And as for the baby that I mentioned, my newest cousin was born just like that, only she is named. Her name is Marissa, and she's sooo kawaii! *grins* She's gonna have a lot of problems in life, but I'm hopeful for my first girl second cousin.
