Title: The Moon Trilogy-Book One-The Past Chapter: Prologue Author: Sean Montgomery E-mail: montgom@email.com Rated: I think PG-13 for Violence, maybe PG. Author's notes: Alright, this is my first attempt at a Sailor Moon ''fluff'' fic, so my notes will be short. Special thanks to my best friend and half sister Dakota for being a super Sailor Moon maniac. Love ya girl! Inside the many hallways and corridors in the Kingdom of the Moon, the soft sounds of footsteps could be heard. It wouldn't matter to half the Kingdom, the people fixed in their own affairs. But to the guardian of the Princess Serenity, it mattered greatly. The guardian, who's name was Adrian, had lost her sights of the Princess while talking to her husband. She never knew the Princess slipped away while she was busy talking about the plans for the Kingdom, or busy getting lost in his blue eyes. When she noticed the Princess was gone, however, she instantly went crazy, but at the same time, knew where she was. And she proved to be correct. She found the Princess in the royal gardens, admiring the roses, like she always did. Adrian, with a half smile on her lips, shook her head and brushed some brown hair out of her brown eyes, walking out of the hallway, and on to the brick walk way. "Do I need to remind you that when you pull stunts like that, I get closer and closer to losing my job?" Adrian asked once she was next to the Princess. "It isn't my fault that you are distracted easily." Serenity replied, not looking away from the rose in her hand. "It seems you have the same weakness." Adrian answered, regarding the rose. "Was that not the same rose that the Prince of the Earth gave you?" "He sends me roses all the time. You know that." Serenity said, standing up, and brushing the dirt off her dress. "Yes, I do. I'm the one that puts them in the vases." She fingered one of the roses for a while, before asking, "Are you two going to do anything soon?" She looked up in thought for a moment before continuing. "I really don't know. He has told me about some attacks on the Earth, and said he might not be able to make it..." "And you believed him?" Adrian asked, raising an eyebrow. "Serenity, he would go through Hell and back for you, and you thought he wouldn't come back because of some little attacks?" "Yes, I must ask the same question." Before she was able to fight back, Serenity was instantly aware of the deep voice that came from behind her. She smiled, and turned around. Not much to her surprise, she found Prince Endymion of the Earth standing with a smirk on his face, his jet black hair flying with the breeze, along with his cape. His hand rested on the butt of his sword, and his expression changed from a smirk to a loving smile. "You know me, Serenity. If I were to say something like that, it would mean I would try everything I could to get to you." He walked up to her, and looked at Adrian. "Good evening Adrian. Is she raising your chances of losing your job again?" Adrian smiled. "Good evening, Endymion. She is actually. Yet I have no idea how you put up with her." Endymion smiled. "I have my ways." he said, before winking at her. Serenity blushed. "Well, I have things to do, too. If you will excuse me." Adrian turned with a smile on her face, remembering a time when she, too, where that young and, as the two behind her, that much in love. He was busy at the computer terminal when she came in. His head darted up and down at the keypad and the screen. Adrian smiled, and walked up behind him, brushing back some of his blond hair from his ear. "Found anything yet?" He jumped slightly, and turned around in his seat, glaring at her with his blue eyes. "Adrian, how many times have I told you not to do that??" "Enough to give me a headache, Drinein. Did you get to the Sun yet?" she wrapped her arms around her husbands neck before resting her head on his shoulder. "Nothing yet." He answered, kissing her cheek. "Why aren't they answering? They know who we are. Besides, it's rude not to answer to a King and Queen of a planet." "Would you keep it down? We don't want any one to know who we really are! If they found out we were here and not ruling our planet, there would be trouble." Suddenly, the computer turned on, and the two were filled with puzzlement and shock. The Negaverse army was near the castle of the sun, sitting there as the army of the Sun was telling them to retreat. Adrian typed in some letters on the pad, and they could see the size of the warriors that was there. "Can they beat them with that many people?" Adrian whispered. Drinein was silent. He lead their view to the leader of both armies. Drinein eyed his wife, who was standing there with a puzzled look on her face. "What's wrong?" "I know that guy," She said, pointing at the Negaverse leader. "Isn't that Beryl's boyfriend?" "Lady Beryl? From Earth?" Adrian sighed. "Yes, even the Lady Beryl can get a boyfriend every now and then, but what is he doing with the Negaverse?" "Who is leading the Sun's army?" "General Greyland Mccall," She pointed. "That dude sitting on his horse with the black hair and brown eyes. He is good, but his leading stances are very weak. I just hope he can do this." They waited for a little, both praying to God that something would happen. But they both knew how the Negaverse got their ways. Kill the leader of army, get to royalty, then the throne. They looked back and forth from the armies, waiting for movement. They seemed to notice how young the warriors were for the sun, guessing that the ages where from seventeen to fourteen. Didn't they just go against the orders that the King and Queen had put that no person under seventeen is allowed in the army? All the thoughts meant nothing as one single arrow, sharp and fast, hit the General Mccall in the heart. Soon, the nightmare was repeated as thousands of the same arrows hit the front line army men, sending them to their deaths in an instant. This was their chance, and the Negaverse attacked the Kingdom of the sun. "No...." Adrian said softly "not the Sun..." "They were defenseless," Drinein answered. "We left them." "This can't happen!" Adrian paced around the room, her hand on the butt of her sword. "We can't let this happen to the Earth or the Moon. Who knows how the universe would turn out? Completely controlled by the Negaverse!!" Drinein stood up beside her. He took her in his arms, and held her, kissing her head softly. "We won't let this happen again. We must guard these planets with our lives." He pulled her back slightly. "Endymion is leaving soon. I'll discuss this matter with him, maybe he could figure out something." Adrian sighed. "Your leaving? So soon?" Drinein looked at her, his blue eyes filled with sadness. It was hard leaving his wife, that he loved so much, so often. He always had a picture of her in his pocket, and he would look at it occasionally. Although, the real thing was so much better. Almost everyday he would dream about holding her, kissing her... those kind of things. It upset him that he had to do it so often. "I am sorry," he whispered in her hair. "But you know why we are here. Or, why we were here. We must protect Endymion and Serenity with everything we have." "Do all of our conversations have to go back to them?" Adrian asked, resting her head on his chest. "I really do miss you, if that is what you want to know." Drinein said, unsure about what she would say. "I miss you too, but I miss you too much! We're married! It's hard not being with you like we were on the Sun. When I'm alone, I talk to air! When I'm going to bed, I tell a picture 'I love you'! When I have a nightmare or something of the sort, I cry myself to sleep! When my day is rough, I have no one who comforts me, or tells me that he loves me!" Well, there. She had just poured out everything on her mind. Now they could talk about their troubles again. What satisfaction. "I'm so sorry.." was all he could say. "I have to do the same things sometimes. I hurts me to know that I have to go days without seeing my," Here, he tiled her head up and put his forehead on hers "Undeniably beautiful wife." She smiled. "And it hurts me to know I can't see my husband with the romantic smile, and the blondish brown hair, and the killer blue eyes," Here he laughed a little. "And who loves me for who I am. Not for my status." They rested in each others arms for a while before Adrian said "Gosh, I miss you." Drinein laughed and gave her his famous 'to die for' smile. "Let's not think about that right now. Let's enjoy being together." She smiled, and leaned her face closer to his. He did the same, and they found themselves in an earth shattering kiss. Adrian knew he could kiss, but THIS! This was something new! She liked the feeling of his long eyelashes tickling her cheek, and his bangs landing on her face. When the kiss ended, he smiled. "We need to do that more often." Adrian sighed. "Yes...we do." She rested her head back on his chest, and sighed. "I love you." He smiled and kissed her forehead. "I'm glad. But I love you more." She raised an eyebrow. "No, I love you more." "I love you more." "I love you more." "No, I love you more!" "I love you more, and that's that!" She smacked him on the chest playfully, and smiled. "But I'm glad you're living up to the competition." "What competition? I loved you from the start, and I will love you till the end and beyond." She smiled. Now out of his arms, she stood five feet away from him. "You ARE a hopeless romantic, sir. But I still think marrying you was the best thing I did in my life." He smiled. "Ditto. Now, come here!" He said, grabbing her arm, and pulling her in for another kiss. "Must you leave so soon, Endy?" Serenity asked Endymion, as they walked near his shuttle. "You know if my parents found out, they would kill me. I need to get back." He looked into her blue eyes, and saw the pain and hurt as she looked down. He lifted her head with his fingers, and met her gaze. "But I will be back soon. I promise." He tilted his head down, and kissed her lips gently. He placed his hand on her cheek lightly, and grabbed the end of his cape, wrapping it around her slender shoulders, and deepening the kiss. She of course gave in, and placed a hand on his neck, the other one going to the back of his head, messing with the black hair that was there. When they parted, slightly dazed, he put his forehead on hers. He looked at her lovingly, and smiled. "Something to remember me by." "How could I forget you? The one who I love?" "I just hope one day that I'm not 'that guy over there that you are in love with'. Do you know how much that would kill me?" A shout was heard from the cockpit of the shuttle, and Drinein's voice could be heard. "Endymion, we need to go! Your parents are looking for you!" He eyed the small shuttle, that really looked like a one man fighter from the military, and shook his head. "Drat. Not again." "You must hurry back then. Don't let me stop you." Serenity said, on the verge of tears. "Don't cry, Serenity. I swear I will be back soon. Hell and high waters couldn't stop me from getting to you. She smiled. "I love you." "And I love you." He placed one more kiss on her forehead, before walking to his shuttle. He stopped before the door, and threw out something to her, something in a small box. It was only when the shuttle left that she could look at what he had dropped. She ran to it, and picked it up, hoping what was inside wasn't broken. But when she looked inside, she gasped, and put a hand to her heart. There was a necklace there. A small, golden chain leading to the middle where she saw a rose made from the rose topaz gem. Small diamonds surrounded it, and she marveled its beauty, only to notice a note. Serenity, My love for you is pure, like the diamonds. There will never be a time when I won't think about you. I love you so much my dear. Remember that. With all my love, Endymion. "You know your parents want to see you, right?" Drinein asked in the hallways of the kingdom of the Earth. "Is there ever a time when they don't?" Endymion smiled, and walked along side his guardian and friend. "This is the fifth time, majesty. Hadn't you try and do this at night next time?" "If there is a next time...." Endymion opened the large doors that lead to the throne room. He wasn't surprised to see it in it's splendor, like it always was. A room filled with banners and windows. And fairly large. And in front of the read carpet, was the Queen and the enraged King. "This is the last time, Endymion!" The King roared, his voice echoing through the hallways. "You are not pulling off another stunt like that again!" "What is it now, father?" Endymion asked, walking to the throne. "You know perfectly well. Going off to see that Princess, no doubt." "Serenity isn't like any other Princess, father. She is something more." "But Endymion," The Queen protested "Why didn't you tell us that you were going?" "Because you would have stopped me." "Exactly! We don't want you seeing that girl any longer! Some other Princess could be a more excellent choice for you!" "But father, I don't even love any other Princess! I love her!" "Love isn't the point here, Endymion!" The King yelled, glaring at him with blue eyes. "You need to have an heir to the throne!" "Endy, we just want you to be happy." The Queen said. "Then let me marry Serenity." Endymion said evenly. "That's the last we will hear of her. I'm calling for a mistress." "No!" Endymion screamed. "I'm not giving myself to anyone but my wife! Why can't you see that I want to marry for love??" The King and Queen where silent. The Queen spoke first, "Lady Beryl is leading the Negaverse to attack the Moon." {“First we go talking about love, then it's Beryl? What does she have to do with this?”} Endymion furrowed his brow. "Lady Beryl? What does she have to do..." "They attacked the Kingdom of the Sun with ease, and they are heading for the Moon." "Do Malachite, Nephrite, Jadeite, and Zoicite know about this?" "They should. Beryl brain-washed them. They are fighting for her." Drinein's head darted up. {“They are heading for the Moon? With the Princes' strongest Generals?? Adrian...”} Endymion was still puzzled. "What does this have to do with me not marrying for love?" The King sighed. "For reasons, still unknown to us, they have stopped transmissions going from the Earth to the Moon. You cannot see Serenity anymore." "And they are heading for the Moon?" Adrian asked over the communicator. She and Drinein were contacting each other about the briefings from the discussion earlier. "Yes, but Beryl needs to get people from the Earth first. She has been attacking the Earth, and has the Prince's Generals!" "The Generals? The Scouts are going to be heart broken! Well, Raye, and Lita are, anyway. When are they coming?" "We don't know. But the ball is in six days. Endymion and I will be there to try and do something about it." "Ah, yes. The Prince of Earth and my Dare-devil husband are going to save a planet." "You bet, babe." Drinein said, smiling. "I'll keep in touch." Adrian turned off the small communicator and put it back in her boot. She was in Serenity's room, the Princess telling her to wait in there as she talked to her mother. She was sitting on the bed and thought for a while, before looking at the small, black blob nuzzling against her boots. "What is it with cats and legs?" She asked the feline, watching it as it happily looked at her. "It's better then having your fur rubbed the wrong way." Luna said, continuing to nuzzle. "I just think you want some attention." Luna looked at her. "And what if I do?" Adrian smiled. "Them I will be glad to give you some. I'm too bored waiting for Serenity." She picked up the cat and smiled as in purred in her lap. Luna sighed. "I could stay here forever. You really know the right way on how to rub fur." Adrian laughed at that. "Oh, do I now?" She sighed again. "You don't drag your fingers when you take another stroke." Adrian chuckled. "Whatever makes you happy." The two where both alarmed when they saw the door open and close in an instant. Serenity stood with her back to the door, on the verge of tears. She looked at Adrian, and she let the tears flow. Adrian stood up, unaware that Luna dropped from her lap to make a thud on the floor. "Serenity? What's wrong?" She walked over to the young Princess, and put her hand on her shoulder, feeling it shake with fear and sadness. "What is the matter?" Serenity dropped her head, and Adrian lifted her face to see her saddened expression. "Don't do that. You are too young to have a double chin." Serenity briefly laughed, before embracing her friend, and crying on her shoulder. With brief sobs, she was able to say, "I can no longer see Endymion." Adrian pretended to be surprised. She knew this sort of thing was going to happen, and she hated lying. But this was for her own good. "What?" "My Mother told me they cut off all supplies coming from the Earth. Including transports. Adrian, what am I going to do? I can't see him.." "Serenity, look at me." Adrian looked at the bloodshot eyes of her friend, and lightly brushed away the tears with a gloved hand. "I have seen your love for Endymion grow stronger over the years. And I doubt that a few little things like 'no communications' is going to stop him from loving you. Drinein and I have been married for eight years, and we miss each other when we leave, but our love for one another has never been stronger." Serenity gave her a look of puzzlement. "You and Drinein are..." Adrian smiled. "Well, I was the last child in my family and I couldn't raise myself....you know the story." Serenity paused for a minuet. The woman couldn't be over twenty nine, and even if she was, she didn't look a day over twenty. "How old were you when you got married?" Adrian paused. "I was seventeen. Your age to be exact. Although, I kind of regret it, but I don't, in a way." "What do you mean?" Adrian smiled. "Nothing. Now, tell me what the Queen said." Six days passed by quicker than what Endymion had expected. He was sitting on his bed, his hand resting on his head, and he looked at the small picture of Serenity he had kept hidden almost all the time. How he longed to see her, to feel her, to kiss her... To think that this was his last chance to see Serenity was an opportunity he wouldn't miss. Neither would Drinein. He had poured his guts to Endymion, telling him and he and Adrian were married, and how much he loved her. In truth, Endymion was almost jealous. But that didn't matter now. As long as he could get to Serenity.... {“Come on Drinein, what is taking you so long??”} Adrian though, standing next to Serenity. They were on the balcony, looking at the Earth like they always did, and nothing was going on like it should. Drinein and Endymion were ten minuets late, and that wasn't normal. So, she decided to do something. "I'm going for a drink. Would you like one?" Serenity shook her head. "No thank you. You go ahead." That wasn't the answer she had expected, but Adrian walked to the drinks anyway, humming slightly as she did. And when she had her drinks, she walked back to the balcony where they were, she dropped her cups and pulled her sword out of its sheath. The Princess was missing. She stalked quietly down the hallways, not wanting to alert the guests and Queen that Serenity was missing. She was turning one corner when, out of no where, two arms grabbed her and swung her around the corner, releasing the sword, and pulling her against a warm, hard body. A hand came to her mouth, and she froze at the blond hair in her eyes, and the all-too-familiar deep voice. "Good evening, baby." "Do your parents know that you are here, Endy?" Serenity asked on their walk to the rose garden. Their hands were laced together, and he chuckled a little. "Not really. We snuck out." "We? Drinein is with you?" He gave her a smile. "Why wouldn't he be? He uses any chance he can to get to Adrian. You know that." Serenity sighed. "All too well." He plucked a rose out of the gardens and put it in her hair, smiling at the effect it left there. She saw his happy face, and struck a pose. He smiled at her position, her arms and hands making a V, as her body was slightly curved. He laughed a little, and crossed his arms. "Though a very ORIGINAL pose, very beautiful nevertheless." Serenity blushed slightly, and went back into his arms. She felt his strong arms hold her with such gentleness and care, and yet, at the same time, with a wave of protectiveness that she always loved. She also loved the smell of him. She was always so sure she could smell him out if she needed to. She told him that once, and he laughed slightly. Yet, he had realized how much she had truly meant it. To love a person so much that you would not miss a thing out of them, including how they smelled...that was the kind of love she had wanted. And she knew that was what she had. The ballroom music could be heard from the castle, and Endymion looked back to where he had found her. He smiled when he saw how happy Adrian was to see Drinein again. They were in the middle of a kiss, and he looked away, giving them their privacy. "I'm almost jealous of them." Endymion admitted with a sigh "Married for so long and their love for each other has never changed." She looked at him with worry. "Do you think we'll be like that?" He smiled. "Nah. That's just because they're Adrian and Drinein. They are always like that. We will be much different." Serenity smiled. "Oh, really? How much different?" "So different, we will be known as one of the most romantic couples in the universe." She blushed. "I thought that's what we were now." He looked up in thought. "Yeah, I guess you are right." "Let me see," Adrian was saying a while later as they walked down the corridors, hand in hand. "You were gone eight days. That's a new record." Drinein smiled at his wife, and kissed her hand. "You've been counting?" She gave him a quirky grin. "I have to find something to do, don't I?" He laughed. "Besides hearing Serenity talking about how great Endymion is?" Adrian rolled her eyes. "Definitely! Yet, I don't mind giving them advice. They are a cute couple." "That they are." Drinein turned her around to the balcony, and looked at the Earth, the place where he had stayed away from his wife for so long. But being with her now, that was the last thing on his mind. As they looked out over the balcony, Drinein noticed how beautiful the lake was, shining in splendor at the rays the Earth was producing. Rays? He looked back at the Earth again, and noticed dark clouds forming over the sky. A menacing chuckle was heard, and the sounds of screaming and...horses? "Oh, no..." "We're under attack!! Everyone, prepare for battle!!" Those were the voices that stopped a party from continuing. Two small cats ran from their post to alert the castle of an attack from the Negaverse. They were making a part in the crowd of people, and the attention of the warriors of the Moon Kingdom was turned to them. Luna and Artemis leaped up the railway, and noticed how black the sky was, becoming filled with the evil that always surrounded the Negaverse. They would need to get the Queen to shelter as soon as possible, and the Princess.... Luna and Artemis looked at each other with the same expression in their eyes, and the same thoughts in their heads. Where is the Princess? "Get to Serenity as soon as possible. I'll see if I can find Endymion!" That was all he said as she ran through the hallways fighting guard after guard. Her sword was a crimson red instead of an awesome silver, and her face was filled with sweat. But Adrian ran. Her feet hurt as she tripped over her boots countless times to escape the sting of a blade, and her mind raced every time her sword became more wet. She knew she last saw her down here, but where?? Elsewhere, Serenity ran for her life. Endymion was separated from her, he told her to run, yet she couldn't help but wonder if he was okay. So, she looked for him. The screams and hollers of those who where dying filled the air, and the black force about the Moon Kingdom was busy dealing with the Sailor Scouts, striking at them with full force, and leaving no mercy. She would breath a prayer for her friends and hope they would be okay, but her heart hoped for more. And if she couldn't find him, she knew she would loose him. Endymion raced through the hallways crying out her name over and over again, hoping that she would call in reply. He never got an answer, but something told him he was near. So, he ran further. And just when he was about to call her name again, he found her. Her head was jerking back and forth, shaking her hair to ripple down her back like a smooth waterfall. If she would only turn around. A gleam in his eye made him turn his head. Darting his eyes at the edge of the balcony, he noticed a Negaverse guard standing on the edge with a knife in his hand. Endymion froze. Malachite... But his heart reacted first. He grabbed the sword in his hand and ran like he never had before, watching Malachite's every move. And when he threw the knife, he threw the sword... And lunged to Serenity. It all happened so fast, it took her a while to remember everything. All she knew was that she was standing there, looking for Endymion, when she heard a scream and the wind was knocked out of her. She was on the floor, she knew that much. When she opened her eyes, she saw Malachite, or who she thought was Malachite, fall off the side of the balcony with a sword sticking out of him. She also noticed that somebody was on her, and breathing very hard. She turned her head around as the weight was lifted, and was in shock when she found Endymion lying on the ground with a dagger in his chest. She rushed to his side, instantly cradling his head in her lap, and holding back her tears. This couldn't be happening. Not now... "And tell me again why she had to go off alone??" Adrian asked herself when she came to another stairwell. If this castle didn't have as many stairwells, she would be with Endymion, Serenity, and Drinein, trying to get away. But no... the builders had to be protective. They HAD to make this castle so darn big. She cut off her thoughts when she saw them. She didn't know what happened, but she ran to them, noticing that Endymion's head was on Serenity's lap with a knife protruding out of his chest. She stopped a distance, behind a pillar, and soon came to silent tears. But her battle mind came into pace when she saw Malachite stand himself up on the edge of the balcony, holding a sword in his stomach. Just then, she knew what she needed to do. For the future of the Moon Kingdom. She pulled out her sword and started running, throwing the sword at him, and lunging in front of the Princess. The rest was a little confusing to her. All she knew was she heard a groan, and something sharp in her belly. She fell on the ground and opened her eyes slightly, only to see Malachite fall from the balcony, never to get up. She closed her eyes and tried to hold her pain. She could scare the Princess any more than she had already, but when she looked at Serenity, she noticed she hadn't moved. "Thank you..." was all Serenity said. Well, maybe she did notice. Adrian gathered up her strength and walked to her as best as she could, making sure her hand covered the fatal wound. She towered over Serenity, and noticed one of her hands resting at her sides. She grabbed it gently, and brought it to Endymion's. He responded, squeezing the hand tightly. "He needs to know you are here." Adrian whispered hoarsely. It was then she realized her berth right was showing. A multicolored band around her left arm, made it's way to mix with some blood on her hand. Serenity looked at her in suprise, just noticing the wound, and looking at her friend with worry. {“The sign of the royal family of the Sun!”} "Adrian...majesty.." "Don't worry about me," Adrian said in assurance. "Worry about being with him." She gave Serenity a small smile. "I'll be seeing you." She stumbled over to a near pillar, and leaned against it, sliding to the floor as she did. She coughed slightly, and looked at Serenity. "What?" Serenity tried to hold back the tears of the friends that she had just lost. Why for her? She wasn't important. Not that Endymion was dying. "Serenity.." she heard him say. She forced herself to look into his face, full of fear, pain, and worry. "I love you....Serenity..." "Shh...don't talk.." "I'm sorry if there ever was a time when I didn't think about you. You have done so much for me." He looked at her neck, and noticed the necklace he had given her. Fingering it, he whispered, "This is to represent my love for you, delicate, but undeniably beautiful and pure. It has always been that way, and always will be. I have also noticed it has grown stronger over time. Just remember I love you, okay, Serenity?" "I feel the same way Endymion, and I will always remember our love. Even until death." He reached out his hand and touched her cheek tenderly, before asking her to grant his final death wish. "Serenity...please...kiss me. So even in my death I can remember you love me." And so, she kissed him...all the high ruling, power holding, nineteen years of him. The horrible thing was that when she parted, she could remember his lips going cold, and his hand falling from her face. She looked into his pale face, and tried to remember his smile. But the thought of holding his corpse didn't help too much. She was soon in tears. "Endymion..." "I love you..." was all she heard him say. And Adrian hardly noticed his death. {“We failed. We couldn't save the Kingdoms from being destroyed. Now they both have to live in suffering.”} "Serenity?" Moving her head, Adrian noticed her face was very red from her crying. The once beautiful blue eyes were now red and bloodshot. Her face was a bright red; so bright you could hardly notice it was her. "I..just wanted you...to know. Remember...Endymion knew you were...strong. Prove it...to him." She sniffed before answering softly, "Now that I have lost him, how can I be?" Adrian was silent. The sound of far away footsteps made them both turn their heads. It was Drinein, trying to see if he could find Adrian. He, like the others, had sweat beating down his face, some of his hair completely wet by it. But the sight he saw terrified him, and he knew Endymion was dead. To tell the truth, we was thinking about how long Adrian had that dagger in her chest. So, he ran to her side, dropping the sword falling with a loud clank on the floor. Drinein was by her side in a instant, cradling her head against his shoulder, holding her and fighting back the tears already in his eyes. Adrian made no move as he held her; she was too weak to move. He closed his eyes and didn't make a move to brush away at the two tears that had started to stream down his face. But they stopped at the source of a cold hand brushing them away. "Hey..now what did I tell you...the day...we got married?'' He looked at her and smiled. "Never get drunk on me again?" "Not that. The other thing." "Oh, uh...Show you how tough I really am by not crying when you die?" "Yep...that's it." "I have to break it. To not cry would be hiding my love for you." "And to cry would be showing how big of a baby you are." He chuckled a little. "So what? I have my belief that I'm showing you how much I love you, by showing you how much I'm going to miss you." Tears came from her eyes. "I'm going to miss you too. But you need to remember something." He looked at her, tears in his eyes. "I always did love you more." He laughed, light shining in his blue eyes now becoming bloodshot. His bangs in front of his eyes, he kissed her cheek softly before putting his head on hers. He noticed she wasn't responding, and her eyes were closed. He soon became very worried, and more tears came through his eyes. "Adrian?" She very slowly opened her eyes and looked at him, a small, assuring smile on her lips. Her breathing was becoming slower, and her eyes were drooping shut for a final time. "Don't..cry, baby...I love...you..." And her eyes shut, and her breathing stopped. And his heart shattered into a million pieces. This was all seen by Queen Serenity. She was standing nearby, almost to the vision of Prince Endymion when he saved her daughter. And now, with the sight of two people dead, she knew what was going to happen next.
