Title: Moon Trilogy-Book One Chapter: Seven Rated: PG “Daddy? When are we going to eat?” A seven year old Katherine asked, stepping into the living room with a small brown bear clutched in her arms. Her father turned around, brown eyes shining with love for his daughter. He smiled. “Pretty soon. Getting hungry?” She shook her head, brown locks of hair falling into her eyes. “Well, let me see with your Mom has anything planned. Maybe we can go out to eat?” “Yes!” she exclaimed, putting her hand in a fist and arching her arm behind her back. Her father laughed and picked her up, kissing her cheek. Setting her on his hip, he walked down the large hallway and entered his room, smiling at his wife looking out the window. And soon the window changed to that of a car window, looking out to the impact of a car... Her eyes darted open suddenly. “Goodness, not again.” “Another dream?” Her eyes turned to Michael, sitting casually in a chair in his room. Wait, this wasn’t his apartment!! “Where are we?” He smiled softly. “Your apartment.” “MY apartment?” “That’s what I was trying to tell you,” he said, scooting his chair closer to her, “this place is yours. I bought it for you. Including the bed, furniture, food and so on.” She looked at her surroundings. “All of this is...mine?” “In a matter of speaking.” “What do you mean ‘in a matter of speaking’?” “Well, I bought it, so some of it is mine too.” Her mouth opened slowly, then she shut it. “Fine. I guess.” “Well, I’ll make you a deal. I’ll give you everything in this apartment, if I can come over any time I want to check on you.” Her eyebrows raised quickly. “Anytime? Even at two in the morning?” He smiled. “If I’m awake.” She sat in thought for a moment. “Well, I’ll only let you because this is the nicest thing anybody has done for me.” His smile widened. “Well then, I’ll be on my way.” He got up and walked over to the door, his fingers almost touching the handle when he stopped at looked at her, giggling when he saw her awe-struck look on the room. “It belonged to a millionaire. One of the nicest rooms here.” And he went out the door. With another look around the room, she fell back on the couch and sighed, a tear coming out of her eye. “{God, thank you for a guy as nice as he is, and thank you for the luxury I’m in.}” Amatite cracked his knuckles, smiling as he looked at the apartment building that was his target. His cape flowed behind him with an almost non-existent wind, reacting to the power flowing through him at that moment. He brushed some air away from his face, and moved his eyes over to the room that Katherine lived in at the moment. He formed the room with his hands, and his hands glowed a dark purple, activating the power of the Dark Crystal that was flowing within him. He grinned an evil, toothy grin, and closed his eyes, concentrating on the room that he had formed with his hands. Soon, his body disappeared. Katherine was investigating more of the house when she felt a presence with her. It was a normal thing for a Sailor Scout to be able to feel the forces of evil nearby, but the vibes she was getting where rapidly flowing, like a wave within a hurricane. Her eyes looked to the wall, and her head followed when she saw a rippling pattern on the wall. Her breath quickened (not to mention her heartbeat) and she turned around slowly, afraid of what she would see there. The brown pattern disappeared when she looked at it, and her face held an expression of puzzlement. It was there just a second ago. Wasn’t it? She stretched her index and middle fingers out to where she last saw it, and let out a gasp when she touched something cold that wasn’t there. She pulled her fingers back, and investigated the brown thing that was covering them. It dripped off of her fingers and fell to the floor with a small splash, and...flowed back to...a large brown wall?? “{Okay, now this is getting weird. That wall wasn’t there a minuet ago.}” She looked at the counter and picked up a fork, slowly inching it closer to the brown...thing. The fork went through the wall, sliding in smoothly without any problems, and to Katherine, it felt like she was putting the fork through water. She took it out and watched as the brown liquid, the closest thing she could make it out as, dripped on the floor, and rolled back to the wall. Almost as if something was calling it... She got brave and stuck her face close to it, and it was only five inches away when two arms popped out of it and pulled her into it, and pushed her out. When she looked around, she was in her living room with the brown liquid covering her, and going back to the wall. Soon, the wall took shape of a person, completing with every detail, every frame and every curve in the persons outfit. When the modeling form was completed, the color of the person was in view, and his neck was tilted to the side, arms crossed, giving her a look that was completed with an evil grin. “Well what do we have here?” he said, his voice raspy. “Who are you?” she said, backing away from him. He bowed mockingly. “I am Prince Amatite. Third heir to the throne of the Planet Nemesis, member of the Black Negamoon Family. I am also here to capture you Katherine James. Or, should I say, Sailor Solar?” She gasped. He knew who she was!! She reached for the nearest thing to her, and threw it at his face, that he easily dodged. “Now, now,” he said with a laugh “that wasn’t very nice.” He extended an arm, and smiled, his eyes turning red. “Just for that, I have to capture you!” He turned into the brown wall again, but this time it was something like a vortex, sucking up anything that was nearby. She grabbed on to something that was nailed to the wall, and held on even tighter when her body started floating. She closed her eyes and screamed. “Michael!!” And even though he was testing his stereo, his ears right next to the speaker, he still heard her calling him. His head looked straight to the door, his eyes flooding with concern, as he mouthed one word. “Katherine.” And he was out the door. And when he come through the door, the vortex was swallowing her, very slowly, like something you would see in most movies. The lower half of her body was already in the brown liquid, and her hands where scattering all over the floor, searching for something she could grab on to. When he saw her hands, he lunged forward and grabbed her arms, and pulled back with all his might. He looked at her, and his energy suddenly grew when he saw the frightened look on her face. “Michael, please!” He looked at her and kneeled on the floor, pulling harder. “Look at me!” He looked at her, his hands at her arms now. “You are Drinien, King of the Sun. The Moon Legend really happened!! I am Adrian, your wife! Serena, Mina, Lita, Raye, Amy, Darien, they can help you learn more! Please stop this evil before they destroy Earth!!” His face was total concern. “Wha? What are you talking about? The Legend is real??” “Ask them! They can tell you! Don’t let the Negamoon Family take over!! Believe the legend is real!” And with that, the vortex reactivated, and pulled hard, sending Katherine deep into the liquid. Michael still had a hold of her hand, and the liquid took the shape of a hand, and covered over Michaels, and snapping his hand at the wrist, not enough to do any harm, just enough to make him let her go. “Katherine!!” She went sprawling back into the liquid, and it was a lot bigger than it looked. Almost like the twelve foot deep end of a pool, but much deeper. Her lungs burned, and she took a breath, and hacked it back out. There was no air. For sure, she was in water. Colored water, no less. She moved her hands around, trying to find some opening, but the more she moved, the more she needed air, and she took another deep breath. The last she remembered, her body was arched, and her limbs where still. Closing her eyes, she only thought one thing. “{Michael.}”
