Title: Moon Trilogy-Book one Chapter: Two Author: Sean Montgomery E-mail: gundamzerosix@hotmail.com Rating: G, slight PG for disturbing images. Notes: Now, this one is a few weeks after Tuxedo Mask is taken by the Negaverse. Serena is (of course) the most depressed person on the face of the Earth, because of Tuxedo Mask’s disappearance, and finding out her ‘dream hunk’ was Darien. In addition, he is evil Prince Endymion. On with the show! This time, he had perfect view of his target. He sat right behind her, and had a perfect view of the back of her head. Michael Williams, a transfer student from America, looked at the brown haired girls head. His target, Katherine James, also was a student who moved here five years ago. Or so he heard. So, he sat there, watching her as she moved her hand up to get a strand of hair out of her face. Reading another book again, that he could tell. She always had this way of doing things when she was reading. His stare moved from the girl to the door when he saw a girl come into the arcade. He knew the girl, not personally, but he knew her name. Katherine talked to her a lot lately. Serena? Was that it? Oh, well. She looked more upset than she usually does. In fact, she looked incredibly upset. He went back to looking at his glass when she walked over to Katherine, and tried to listen to their conversation, trying to let Katherine’s voice stay in his ears. “Serena? What’s wrong?” Serena walked to the small booth, resting a hand on her head and staring out the window. “Oh, nothing.” “Heh, yeah, right. You aren’t this down when you come here. What’s up?” Serena didn’t answer. “Love Doctor at your service.” Serena raised an eyebrow at her, before breaking into a smile. “Have you ever lost anyone important to you, Katherine?” Katherine beetled her eyebrows. “What do you mean?” “Oh, of course you have. Everybody knows about your divorce.” A loud spitting was heard from behind. “My what?” Serena’s eyes were as big as dinner plates. She had said the exact wrong thing. But Katherine understood. She rolled her eyes. “That is one rumor of a many. I have never been married.” Katherine heard a sigh of relief behind her, she tilted her head slightly, before shrugging and looking at her. “Why do you ask?” “Well, I was in love. Well, I kinda...found it out. This guy I know was a total jerk and mean and heartless, but in truth...I liked him. A lot. And there was another guy. He comes around and saves me from...uh...street attacks and stuff like that. And a few weeks ago, I found out they were all one person. The jerk and my ‘savior’ so to speak. Anyway, he was kidnaped and I don’t know what to do! I was in love with the ‘savior’ and I fell in love with the jerk yesterday, only to find out they were one person, and they were taken from me!” Serena was now on the verge of tears. She couldn’t let Katherine know that Darien was Tuxedo Mask, or that he worked for the Negaverse, but the secret identity would stay like that for a while. Katherine sighed. “Serena, you want to hear a little life story that may help you?” Serena nodded. “When I came to Tokyo, I was fifteen years old. My parents and brother moved here because my Dad got a promotion. Two years we had lived here and my brother, being the great big brother he was, always protected me and stuff,” here, she sniffed a little. “We were celebrating the new promotion of my Dad, who had moved to Vice President at the time, and we had a great dinner and a heck of a great time together. So, we were driving home, when these drunk drivers come up from behind us and are about a foot away from the car. We had to make a sudden stop, and the drivers were going so fast, that they crash into us, and push us into the area of the four-way stop where the cars were going. So, we were hit in the back, and the upper right and left, and the lower left. My brother, towered over me and covered me as much as possible. When I woke up, I was in a hospital with all these doctors discussing something. One of them came to me, and told me my parents hit the glass dead on, and died before the call to the hospital was made. My brother was in critical condition, but I would be ok. I only had a minor scar down my face here.” She pointed with her finger at a thin scar that went from her eyebrow to the end of her jaw. “I had to thank my brother for that. They said if he didn’t do what he did, I might not have been alive. “Two days later, I went to see my brother who had cuts and scars all over his body. I asked him if he was ok, and he said the doctors said that he only had a day to live. It was four fifty-eight p.m., October ninth. He always had me sing him a song when we were younger, and he asked me to sing it to him again. It was a lullaby, and it put him right to sleep, with a small smile on his lips. He...died the next morning.” Serena had tears dripping down her face, and her hand covering her mouth. She couldn’t believe she was telling her this! “When the hospital bills came along, I had to use the college tuition for my brother and me to do two things. One, pay for the hospital, and two, give them a proper burial. I couldn’t keep paying the electric and light bills for the house, so I moved out. To my amazement, an orphanage couldn’t take me in, because I was seventeen. I eventually sold everything I had just to get some money. Somebody stole my shorts and coat that I had, so I only have this. I have been living that way for two years. “Now tell me, witch situation is pain, mine? Or yours?” Serena was speechless. All of this had happened to her? Sweet Katherine?? “I’m so sorry...” was all she could say. “Don’t be. God wouldn’t keep me alive and alone this long if it wasn’t for a purpose. It’s all His will.” Serena wiped a tear from her eye and looked at her. “What does this have to do with me?” Katharine leaned forward. “We have both lost loved ones in our lives. But God doesn’t make us live in pain. He has designed it, so that even in our toughest times, we become happy eventually. Personally, I don’t know what God has in mind for you. Who knows, you may find this guy. You just need to wait on His perfect will. Does that answer your question?” Serena nodded her head. “Good. I’ll tell ya what: you come here after school, and we can talk more about this guy. Okay?” And Katherine stood up and left, leaving behind a confused Serena. Michael sat looking at his glass, disbelieving at the fact that Katherine, his sweet, loving wonderful Katherine, could have a life that horrible. He decided she needed a man in her life. Someone she could talk to and be with in her times of trouble. Someone like him! Satisfied with his thoughts, he left the amount of money on the table and walked out the door, following a certain brownie along the way. Across the regions of time and space, the evil bounds of the Negaverse thrived with a hatred and power that could be unleashed at any moment. And in that Kingdom, evil Prince Endymion stood with the tracking crystal in his hand, looking at the person the crystal showed him. This person had strange a radiation of energy flowing from her every time she had heard of a battle. As if she were a sailor scout herself. But she never went to battle if there was one. But she had a great amount of strength. ‘Well then, I’ll just have to deal with her myself.’ When she could last recall, it happened near the dock at the lake. She was just sitting there, drinking in the sunset in front of her, admiring the beauty, when out of no where, this monster is attacking her. So, she found herself, bruised, bleeding, and not having a good time. She had the monster in a head lock, surprisingly to her, and flipped the thing over her shoulder. When she noticed something was on the ground, she looked at it, and investigated it. “It’s your transforming pen! Transform!” Ok, she had hard days, but this had to top it all off. Was that cat talking to her?? “Transform!! Hurry!” Yep. It was. “Hold it in the air, and say ‘Solar power’.” Katherine looked at the stick in her hand, and shrugged. Sure. Why not? “Solar power!” And in a blur of six white lights surrounding her, they shot up, and she was now known as Sailor Solar, in a full white uniform, and long boots. “What the...?” Katherine said, looking down at herself. Oh, boy. This is gonna be a long night. “Katherine is Sailor Solar! Wicked cool!” Sailor Jupiter exclaimed. “What the heck is this??” Sailor Solar said, looking at Sailor Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter all fighting the monster she was having trouble with a while ago. She watched as the Sailor Scouts easily fought off the monster. It made her a little upset, she was doing fine a minute ago! When the monster disinigrated into millions of ashes. The other Scouts looked at their new member. First of all, they where shocked she didn’t do anything. Secondly, she was Katherine! “How do you feel?” Luna asked, taking a step forward. “Quite odd that I’m talking to a cat, actually.” Luna smiled. “Everybody feels that way. I’m glad you have finally joined our team, Sailor Solar.” “What are you talking about?? What team??” “The Sailor Scouts, of course!” Sailor Moon said, stepping forward. “And now that we know you, it’s about time you got to know us.” Katherine watched in amazement as the super heros in front of her, transformed into five teen-agers. And only one of them she knew. “Serena??” “So we all are destined to fight this Negaverse?” Katherine asked a while later, when they were all at Raye’s temple. They were in normal clothing now, and sitting near the Sacred Fire to keep warm in the cool evening. “Until it’s destroyed. This destiny belongs to each of us. We must destroy every last bit of the Negaverse to ensure the safety of the Earth. That is our eternal mission.” Luna explained, sitting in Serena’s lap. “Okay, so let me get this strait. We all are Sailor Scouts, sworn to protect the Princess of the Moon from the evils of the Negaverse, and make sure that the Earth doesn’t get destroyed at the same time. Right?” Luna nodded her head. “Right.” “Then why is this still confusing to me?” Katherine said, putting her hands on her head. Artemis smiled. “You’ll get used to it eventually. You have to let it sink in a while.” Katherine raised her eyebrows. “If you say so.” “Now it’s time you learned how to use your powers. Come with me.” Luna said, getting off of Serena’s lap, and walking to the door. Katherine got up and followed the small black cat, looking at the surrounding area. As soon as she walked out the door, she looked at the slightly large lake in front of her. “First of all, you must learn the ‘Solar Death Cannon’. Put one arm just below your eyes, and another going up to cover the other half of your face. Now, hold two fingers up in the air, and say ‘Solar Death Cannon charge!’. As soon as you do, a ball of light will surround your fingers. You must charge for thirty seconds before unleashing the power by saying, ‘Solar Death Cannon Destroy!’” Katherine nodded her head and did the first step. “Solar Death Cannon...” “But you have to transform first.” Katherine slapped her forehead. Oh yeah. She transformed and raise her arms. “Solar Death Cannon...” “And be sure to shoot at the lake.” Katherine lowered her aim. “Charge!” She extended her arms and watched the ball of light grow bigger as she counted to thirty. When the time came, she unleashed the weapon at the lake. “Solar Death Cannon Destroy!” As soon as the large beam hit the lake and sizzled under the cool temperature, Katherine’s eyes were large. “Wow.” “All right Katherine! You did it!” Serena cheered. Katherine looked at her fingers. “I guess so..”
