Title: Moon Trilogy-Book one Chapter: Ten Rating: G Disclaimers: Sailor Moon doesn’t belong to me. Only Katherine/Adrian, Michael/Drinien, and Amatite, and anything related to them. This is for entertainment only, after all. So no suing!! Side note: The song in this story is copyright Newsboys. The only reason I used it was because the sound of the song was action type. For any of you with the CD “Step Up to the Microphone”, you know what I am talking about. Michael was scared, but he didn’t show it. He was breathing calmly, listening to what Adrian had to say. He balled his fists, not realizing that they where sweaty. She had finished what she was saying and leaned back in her chair, folding her hands. He turned his head to his side, so he was looking at the floor, them he looked at her with his eyes. She was looking at him through her sunglasses, still in the same outfit she was in earlier. He bit the inside of his lip. “Your stalling. What are waiting for?” She asked him, still looking at him blankly. “I’m thinking.” he replied. She smiled with the corner of her mouth. “Well, keep thinking then. The longer you think, the longer you will be here.” He lifted his head and raised his eyebrows. His head came to meet the barrel of a black Night Eagle. “And the longer you make me wait here, the closer I get to pulling this trigger.” He gulped, and looked at her finger, that was squeezing the trigger slowly. “You don’t understand,” he said “when I learned about the Sailor Scouts, I promised never to tell of their secret.” She chuckled, showing her teeth. “You’re a very courageous young man. I like that.” She grabbed the top of the gun, and pulled it back, coking the gun. Her smile faded. “But that doesn’t mean I won’t kill you.” “Will you? If you do, my secret dies with me.” She just stared at him. “And I’ll bet that gun isn’t even loaded.” She quickly turned the gun to the wall, and shot it, returning it about an inch away from his head. “Does that change your mind?” His breathing quickened. “Guess not.” She pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. Michael opened his eyes. Adrian pulled away the gun and smiled. “Of course, when confronting a person, I only carry one bullet, and that is to make them think the gun is full.” He realized he was holding his breath, and he let it out. She put the gun back into her coat somewhere, and leaned forward, crossing her arms on the table. “So because you aren’t going to tell me, I’ll let you go. But don’t think that means that I won’t haunt you. I’ll know every step you take. I’ll be right there in the shadows, until you tell me who the Sailor Scouts really are.” She pulled down an area on the desk that had a button in it, and she removed her sunglasses. She looked into his eyes, and he noted they were blue. Blue?? Then...green? Brown? “I’ll be everywhere.” she said, then hit the button. He fell through another shaft, and landed in a dumpster beside an apartment building. He looked up, and found the shaft he went down. He ran back into the building, and found the shaft going into one of the top floors, at the very corner. He ran to the room, and found the door. Knocking it down, his eyes widened. The room was beat down and empty. Adrian was grabbing the window sill from outside the room, and when she heard the door shut, she pushed herself up with so much might, she flew to the top of the building, and landed on her feet. She looked ahead and found Amatite, looking over the edge of the building. “Did he tell you anything?” She walked closer to him. “No. He chickened out. But I have a feeling that I know where he is going.” Amatite looked at her. “Then find him. And stay with him.” “Yes, sir. Will you return with notice to Wiseman?” “Wiseman doesn’t need to know about any of this. You stay away from him.” “I’m afraid I can’t.” Amatite lifted his hand and put his palm on her head. His hand grew warm with power. “You will.” She grabbed his hand, and threw him behind her, and before he could hit the ground, she shot a beam at him, with such force, that he flew to the next building. She ran and jumped the building, landing on her feet. She put a hand on the ground for support, and walked over to Amatite. She picked him up and punched him a few times, before pulling out her Night Eagle. He smiled, and looked at her through a black eye. “You don’t have any more shots left.” “Lesson one,” she said, squeezing the trigger, “never listen to a person that has more power than you do.” She pulled the trigger. “Lesson two,” she said, putting the gun back in her coat and picking up the body “never underestimate Wiseman when he gives a person power like I have.” She lifted the body in the air and shot a beam at it. Amatite disappeared. She pulled out a communicator. “Wiseman? This is Adrian. Amatite is gone.” “Perfect. Follow the Williams boy and attack when the time seems right.” “Copy that.” Adrian ran and jumped two buildings before falling down one and landing on the sidewalk. She followed Michael. It was later on that afternoon when the chaos started. Different things had happened to Michael over the past month. First, his classmate had tried to kill him (and that ended up being Adrian), then he had an encounter with a cat that wasn’t de-clawed (he still has the scars), and elderly women had slapped him on the shoulder every time he walked by. He had known that Adrian was hot on his trail, but he was never prepared for what happened that one, cloudy February evening. Enough was enough, he decided. Now different attacks had happened, such as fireballs coming out of the sky from no where and his sudden case of Social Anxiety Disorder because he knew she would be there, stalking him. So, he was walking to the Cherry Hill Temple, where he had organized a Scout meeting. Including Darien. One could never tell if he was considered a Scout or a friend. This thought made him smile. So he made his way up the steps of the Temple, and his dark blue eyes found the sight of five girls and one guy, all patiently waiting for him. So, pulling up his coat collar around his neck, he walked to them. “You sound paranoid to me.” Lita said, listening to the subject that Michael had introduced them to. “It’s not paranoia, he is getting used to attacks from the enemy. I get it all the time.” Darien said. “It’s happening too often though. After I met Adrian in that hotel room, I can’t help but think that at any moment she could pull the plug on me.” “There has been a collection of negative energy growing in the center of Tokyo. Maybe the Black Moon Family are planning to attack.” Amy said, looking to the people surrounding the small table. “If so, we had better watch our step. She might be going after any of us, not just Michael.” Raye said. Agreeing, they stepped outside the Temple and froze as a figure walked up the steps of the temple. The person walked up to Raye, and asked where the place of prayer was. Raye pointed right behind her. “Thank you.” the young girl said in a child-like voice. She skipped pass Michael and stopped, facing him. “Hello, sir. I’m going to pray for world peace!” He smiled. “That’s a good thing to ask for.” She skipped again to the counter where she rung the bell and made a prayer*. When she opened her eyes, she looked at her folded hands, smiling at the light-blue ball that was glowing. Turning around, she shot it at Michael, and hit him square him square in the arm, right near the joint. Michael screamed as the ball of fire and energy surged into his arm before he could call it useless. He turned to see the five year old girl grab her face and rip off her clothing to reveal a young woman he knew all too well. “Funny how you would talk to the Sailor Scouts when your worst enemy is stalking you. Seriously, I thought you where smarter than that.” Adrian laughed, pulling off her black coat. “I knew it would be you. You never give up, do you? You will fight to the last and never end until you die with honors. But what if you kill me? Then what are you going to do?” Michael asked, waving around his good arm. Adrian smiled, an evil chuckle escaping her lips. “You humans think you are so smart. You think you can predict the future. But you have no clue how I plan on getting rid of you. I plan to break every bone in your body, slowly, and painfully as possible. Then I will destroy the strongest bone that holds your body together slower than the rest just to hear you scream.” Michael pulled out a white rose (the key to his transformation power) and held it in his fingers. The Moonlight Knight stood before them. “I never wanted to hurt you, Adrian,” he said “but if this is the only way..” he pulled out a steel-tipped white rose. “So be it.” With a grunt from his injured arm, he threw the rose at her, and she easily missed, step siding it. “Hmpf.” she said, with a smile. “Is that how you want to do this, fighting and sprawling until one of us is the last man standing?” Through her sunglasses, she looked at the man in front of her, and the Sailor Scouts behind him. Tuxedo Mask was beside Sailor Moon with his cane out. She removed her sunglasses, tossing them to where her coat was, and snapped her fingers. She was now in her uniform that she wore around the ship, her midnight black cape flying behind her. She raised her arms, fists clenched. “So be it.” Her muscles pulsed underneath the long-sleeved uniform she was wearing, and her hands gave a glowing orange color. Her teeth clenched, and her eyes turned a shade of red. Then, she threw out her arms and screamed, as an immense amount of power surged within her. The Scouts found themselves teleporting to an area above the clouds, to a place that was black as night. Lightning streaked past the sky, and in front of them, was a large tower. And at the top, was Adrian. “Oh, how rude of me. I forgot to invite you in.” The they teleported again (much to Sailor Moon’s dislike), and found themselves in a heap on a cold, cement floor. Drizzle was in the air. “Where are you Adrian?” Tuxedo Mask said, holding his cane in an alert position. Footsteps where heard in the distance, and Adrian walked out, an evil smile on her lips. “Welcome to my domain,” she said, raising a hand underneath her cape to show the area around her. “I come here often to think of many ways of destroying you, and this has been my solution.” “And what is that?” the Moonlight Knight asked, stepping ahead of the group. Adrian’s eyes flashed red again, and a wall of fire surrounded them, leaving her and the Moonlight Knight in an arena-like area. “I plan to get rid of you first. You have been nothing more than a nuisance to me ever since we met. I challenge you to a duel. The first one to come out alive, wins. The loser,” A sword fell behind the Moonlight Knight, and he looked at it, startled. “Is dead.” He was hesitant for a moment, thinking about any way he could to get her out of this. Then, he had the perfect idea. He reached out his hand and grabbed the butt of the sword, pulling it out of the ground, a small noise coming out from the force of it. “I accept.” The cries of the Scouts could be heard, as the team feared for their team mate. The Moonlight Knight turned around and looked at them, giving them an assuring smile, then faced his challenger. He raised his sword. Adrian smiled. “{This is going to be easier than I thought. The boy is going to be dead as soon as this thing starts.}” She grabbed the butt of her own sword and pulled it out, holding it in front of her like he did. They stayed like that for a moment, before he charged her, and she blocked his attack. Walk into the sunlight so bright. Illumination blocking out the night. She knows that the promises are air tight. There is no doubt. You can see it in her eyes. They found themselves in the middle of the arena, their sweat being washed away from the rain that had just started. They found it weird that they had just started, but they were sweating already. Or was it the rain? Adrian could help but wonder as she blocked another attack. You’ll hear her say it to heaven. Even without letting out a word to be heard. In every single situation, none too big, none too small, She looks up, and the world looks on. He had just blocked another attack, and tried to swirl on her, but she found his sword in time and used the opportunity to push her weight on the sword and do a back-flip over his head. When she landed, she swung her sword at his face and felt the very tip of her sword hit the side of his lip. When he backed away, he pressed his gloved sleeve to his lips, and found a blood stain there. She can cut open his lip. She sings halleluja When all has become nothing. And her hope in the Savior, Has covered all she does, And taints the way she loves. Two thoughts came to his mind. “{She cut open my lip. Maybe she doesn’t care. Maybe I’m fighting for nothing.” The determination came back to him. “{No. I know her. She wouldn’t hurt anybody.}” She sings halleluja And falls to the ground again. With hands stretched up to the sky, She’s waiting for the day she’ll Hear the Father say.... “What’s wrong? Upset that I hurt your beautiful face?” she mocked him, her lips curling into an evil smile. How he hated that smile. So evil, so blank. It wasn’t her style. He loved her. He would save her. They resumed their fighting. Step into the spotlight, so bright A character check, in the dead of night. To cut the stray’s of reason, until death defy, All understanding in the neighbor’s eye. To run this race like this day’s the last, Celebrate, in all we do and all we say, Look up, ‘cause the world looks on. She sings halleluja When all has become nothing And her hope in the Savior Has covered all she does, And taints the way she loves. She sings halleluja, And falls to the ground again, With hands stretched up to the sky She’s waiting for the day she’ll Hear the Father say.... He was cornered. His back was to the fire, and her sword was under his neck. He looked into her eyes and trembled as he saw the wild look in them. Strands of hair was flying out of her ponytail, and lighting flashed across the horizon. “Goodbye, Michael...” she muttered. She never saw the rose coming. A red rose from Tuxedo Mask, now in the air with Sailor Moon in his arms, had grazed her across the ear. She looked menacingly at the rose, then at the figures in the air, and raised her sword, ready to throw it. But the Moonlight Knight, concerned for his friends, pushed her out of the way, making her drop the sword. They collided against the ground, and he pinned her. We sing hallelujah When all has become nothing, And our hope, the Savior Has covered all we do, Let it be for You. We sing hallelujah And fall to the ground again. With hands stretched up to the sky, We’re waiting for the day we’ll her the Father say, Gonna hear Him say, Well done, good and faithful one. Enter in. C’mon share with me. Welcome home, good and faithful one. On and on to eternity. “Adrian, listen to me! You name isn’t Adrian, it’s Katherine. Katherine James! You live in Tokyo! You are a Sailor Scout!!” She cocked her head back and hit him in the face. When he was off of her, she stood before him, breathing heavily. “I was never a Sailor Scout! I never joined you! You are trying to control the world! Why would you care about my actions?” He got up, his turban and cloak soaked and sticking to his skin. His breathing quickened with his anger, and he tore his turban off, reveling the messed up, sweaty brown hair that was tasseled. “I have every reason in the world to care about you! Katherine I meant to tell you, but I’m sure it was God who told me not to tell you at that moment, but now I know why. I’m in love with you!” Adrian snorted. “Love? Love is impossible. Why would a thing like that exist when you have hate?” “Because we love you, Katherine! You’ve been a friend to us all!” Sailor Moon said, stepping beside Michael. “Never! Never would I join sides with the Sailor Scouts. All of you are nothing! And you! You say you love me yet you just fought me moments ago! You wouldn’t fight the one you love, would you? Michael help me!!” His look went right to her shocked face. “What in the..” she muttered. Then “Michael, PLEASE!” she covered her mouth with her hands. Michael, courageously, walked up to her and grabbed her by the arms. She tried to get through, but part of her didn’t want to. “I know you are in there, we just have to get that other part out.” She tried to get out of his hold again, but he wouldn’t let her go. “Let me go!” she screamed at him. “Not until you come out Katherine. I know you can break through, you are strong! Fight it, Katherine. Fight it!!” She broke free of him and grabbed her head. “The voices....so many voices...” she whispered. “We can’t leave her!” Diamond screamed. “What if we are coming back? We won’t know where she is!” He stepped up by Wiseman who was by a window. “On the contrary, majesty, we will know where she is! When she was brainwashed, I put a communication plate in her brain that alerts her four years in advance of when we are coming! We will know where she is, and she will know we are coming.” Wiseman said, looking down at the Planet Earth that was becoming small very quickly. He bowed his head in thought. “{Only one half of the mission was completed, but when I get back, I’ll have this planet with Adrian by my side!}” Adrian tumbled back on one knee. Then, she looked at the sky. “The mission wasn’t complete! Don’t leave me on this miserable planet!” Her arm was extended, and she brought it down to rest on her face. Then she glared at Michael with eyes filled with hate. “You...” she muttered. A ring of energy formed around her, and ever second that passed, she gained more power from the crystal. But it wouldn’t last long. She soon began to feel faint from her growing power. Or...was it leaving her? She soon felt herself getting weaker. She tried to make a fireball in her hands, but she didn’t have enough power to do so. She clenched her fist and tried to figure out why this was happening. Then, her eyes traveled up to the sky, unbelieving and afraid to think about the truth. They had taken the Dark Crystal with them. She was now powerless.
