"Endymion? Endymion, where are you?" the golden haired young woman called out into the misty darkness. Thick, ice cold fog clung to her skin and ice pink gown, making her shiver as she pressed onward in the never ending whiteness. "Endymion!" She cried, crystal tears falling endlessly from her sapphire eyes. Suddenly, through the blurry tears in her eyes, she could make out a vague form through the heavy mist. Her eyes glowing with hope, she forced her numb body forward, willing her frozen legs to run, to take her to her love. Her body cried out as thousands of needles attacked her muscles, her circulation beginning to warm her numb flesh. The figure held out a hand to her, a pair of deep, ocean blue eyes unhidden by the fog gazed at her, calling to her for help. She had to get to him! She had to save him! And suddenly she was someplace else. In some sort of large cavern...no, a huge room that had been crumbled by gigantic vines cracking and splintering the walls and ceiling. Before her, frozen in time, was a girl with hair as golden as hers, done up in the same hairstyle as hers; two spheres of of golden hair atop her head with two manes of sunlight gold hair streaming from them. Her uniform was that of her Guardian Senshi, but red and blue; none of her Senshi wore those colors. >Who is she?< the woman thought absently, before noticing the rest of her surroundings. A blast of negative energy was shooting towards the new Senshi Guardian. And in front of her, shielding her, was a black haired, blue eyed man she reconigzed as her beloved, her betrothed, her one and only Endymion. As the woman stared, time unfroze, and she watched in tortured horror as her prince's body was wracked with painful, black magic. The young woman behind him screamed as he fell, trying to catch him and falling to the groung beside him, sobbing. The black haired young man raised a hand and stroked the sailor-suited girl's tear streaked face as she mouthed one word, over and over again, 'No, no, no, no...' The golden haired woman's prince mouthed something, and then his hand fell away, and his eyes closed slowly. The girl sat there in shock for a moment, the screamed out in the pure agony that only came from loosing your soul mate. The woman had felt that pain, long ago, in a kingdom long forgotten... >Serenity...< The woman gasped, and spun around as time around her stopped, completely frozen once more, her surroundings once again becoming shrouded in the same nipping, cold mist. >Princess...Princess Serenity...< The voice whispered again, tickling her ear... >My love...< "Where are you? Serenity sobbed, clutching her arms about herself as her petite body shook with suppressed cries of pain and loss. >You must find me...We must find each other, my love... It's the only way...< the voice continued to torment her, as she longed for her loved one to hold her, for everything to be all right again... "How?" she called into the whiteness. Suddenly she felt a prescence behind her, and she turned slowly, pleading with herself to not dare to hope. Her eyes went wide as she saw a man step out of nothingness, seeming to materialize from the mist. Sapphire eyes met ocean blue eyes, pain and longing filling both... And then she was in his arms, crying, sobbing, for a time long lost when they were all happy, a happiness that was shattered by an entity filled with greed and jealously and hate. "Why?" the princess sobbed. "Why must it be like this? Why can I see you no place else?" "Because the only reason we are able to do even this is because of our love, and our power." his voice was deep and rich, like the dark red roses he had so often surprised her with. "We must find each other in the real world, then we can be together again." "But when we are here we remember nothing of our waking lives, so we can't tell each other anything! How will I find you if I don't know who you are, or where you are out there? How-" Her love silenced her by covering her chilled lips with his own savory, warm ones. While he gently carressed her mouth with his, sending licking flames throughout her body, she was reminded of how much she loved him. "Just follow your heart, my love." he whispered as he pulled away. "It will lead you to me. And I, to you. Ashiteru, my princess. Until we find our love again." And he began fading from her arms, melting into the mist again. "No!" Serenity cried out, and she saw in his eyes that it was not his choice to go, but that he was being pulled from her. On a whim, the princess looked down to see her own form seeping away into the whiteness, becoming one with the mists. Looking up, she saw him whisper three words before he dissappeared completely. "I love you..." the words carressed her ears like the song of a butterfly's wings, and she let loose one last cry of longing before... ********************** "Noooo!!!! Endymion!" Serena shot up in bed, sweat plastering her damp golden bangs to her face, trickling down her back. >No...no, not again...< The young woman crumpled back down to her pillows, crying, sobbing, as she fought to keep from screaming in frustration at the same time. Suddenly, she threw the sheets aside and leaped out of bed, with only one thought rotating around in her mind; she had to get out! Quickly, with speed only she could accomplish, Serena donned a light white sundress trimmed with rose pink. Silently and swiftly treding downstairs, she slipped her small feet into her white slip-ons, and dashed out the door into the night, her unbound hair fluttering behind her in the wind. Tears coursed down her face, running along the tiny streams that had been formed as she had cried in her sleep, not long before. Sobbing over a love and life of happiness long lost to pain and suffering and battle, Serena, the former Princess Serenity of the Silver Millennium Moon Kingdom, fled to the only place that had ever given her comfort in times such as now. Ever since Queen Beryl's bitter defeat, everyone had done their best to go back to a normal life. But the knowledge that they had once been bowed to and respected as princesses of the planets, along with resurfacing talents and gracefullness, was making it difficult for Serena and her friends and ex-guardians. Serena especially. In a situation where she once would have fallen flat on her face she new skipped over gracefully, and with skill. It was difficult to diliberately be clumbsy, which was nesscary to avoid unwanted questions from her friends and family. It wouldn't be good if they noticed that she was dreadfully clumsy and then suddenly overnight, literally, she became a girl with the grace of a princess. She had discovered that she could easily trot with as much as four books balanced on her head, without even her hairstyle to help. Plus, in times when trying to persuade someone of something, she found herself talking most...properly, diplomatically. Which for her was, well, odd, to say the least. Serena choked back a sob as she stiffled her yearning to go back to clumsy, crybaby Serena Tsukino. She knew that more likely than not she would one day be called upon to rule the Universe that was rightfully hers. She dreaded that day. Genuinly tripping for the first time in a month, Serena fell harshly to the hard packed dirt at the entrance to the Rose Garden at Juuban Park. Picking herself up while sniffling, Serena leaned against the stone wall to try and compose herself. Taking slow, deep breaths and wiping away her tears, Serena pushed away from the cold stone and silently walked into the rose garden, bathed in silvery moonlight. Walking to the center of the circle of rose bushes of all colors, she stood next to a lush red rose bush, and looked up to her home, the Moon. "Why, Mother?" she whispered. "Why must it be this way?" "Talking to your self again, Blondie?" The voice was unmistakable, and Serena stiffened, her lip curling in anger before she realized what he had said, and the tone he had used. Although the words had been teasing, his voice had been anything but. His voice had been deep and rich, not cold and hating like before. In fact, when he spoke to her like that, he almost sounded like... "Leave me alone, baka." she hissed. "I can't handle you right now." To her horror, Serena felt a wave of unstopable tears trickled from her eyes, coating her cheeks in a crystal glimmer. She gasped as she suddenly felt a warm finger stroke her cheek from behind -she hadn't even heard him move!- and warmth engulfing her as an arm found it's way around her waist and arms, pinning them to her sides as she was encased in comfort and warmth. She froze. "You're crying." It was a statement. "Why?" Darien whispered, his lips so close to her ear. "Why don't you just asume the usual?" she whispered back, her voice icy. "I probably just dropped my ice-cream cone, right?" Her chest trembled with the effort to keep from bursting out into sobs in his arms; he was so warm. But he hated her, and she hated him, right? Plus...there was Endymion... "I'm sorry." the voice was barely above a whisper, but she heard it, and stiffened as the meaning of the words hit her. "You're...you're *what?*" Serena gasped, and barely managed to hold back a moan of delight as she felt warm, gentle, carressing lips tease the skin on her neck. "I'm sorry. For everything. Everythin I've ever said and done that's hurt you." He whispered again, and placed a light butterfly kiss on her earlobe. "You didn't deserve it." Serena couldn't stand it anymore; she had to see his face, had to see if he was sincere. She turned around in his arms, the hand that had been lying on her cheek falling to the base of her neck. Her hands on his chest, she looked up into his eyes, and felt tears once again begin their voyage down her moonlight-kissed face. "Do...do you mean it?" she whispered, barely daring to ask, though she saw in his eyes, those beautiful, masculine ocean eyes, that he meant every word, every touch, every emotion. And she gasped lightly as she suddenly felt his lips gently brushing her own, softly, sweetly laying light butterfly kisses on her lips. "Why..why are you doing this?" she asked, trembling. "Serena," he said quietly. "Have you ever loved two people so much you wished with all your heart that they were the same?" Serena looked down, biting her lip gently, which was still burning with the desire to feel Darien's on them again. Her eyes suddenly widened as she realized the answer to his question. "Every day." she whispered. Looking back up at him she asked. "Why? What does this have to do with me?" "I was lucky enough to realize that those two people WERE the same person. And it has everything to do with you, my love." >My love...< the way he said it, so truthfully, so full of meaning and love... It sounded so familiar... Serena gasped fully as her eyes widened, her mouth falling open. "Endymion?" she whispered in wonderment. "I love you, Serenity." She only had time to close her eyes as she felt his lips descend onto hers again, only this was no butterfly caress. Darien, the former Prince Endymion, poured his whole heart and soul into kissing his beloved, and she let him fully. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, and he tightened his one arm around he waist, while his other hand moved up and down her back, finally settling in the spce between her soulder blades, pressing her into him even more. The kiss went on and on, and they broke away momentarily for breath, then he pulled her mouth to his again. Massaging her lips blissfully, he slowly urged her lucious lips apart, and she obliged, letting his tongue ease between her lips, allowing him her kisses to his hearts content, as he allowed her. They were slightly breathless as they slowly eased their mouths apart, Serena opening her eyes to see the love shinning radiantly out of her prince's own ocean blue irises. "I loved you then, I love you now, and I'll love you until time itself is destroyed and our souls are no more." he whispered to her, his voice thick with love and meaning. Tears were running down her face once again, only this time, they were tears of joy. "I'll never stop loving you." she said quietly, and she knew that while her life would never be 'normal' she would have her friends, her indentity, her destiny, her past, and...her love. "Now you know why I liked to sleep so much." she giggled quietly. "Why?" Darien asked slyly. "Because so often you were always there waiting for me." She pecked him on the lips, but before she could escape he imprisoned her mouth with his, sifting his fingers through her thick, golden hair. And when they finally broke away for a third time, Serena knew that this time around, she would not loose her love. From now on, she could do more than dream about him, more than dream about her love. She was with her love, her prince, eternally. THE END Like it? Hate it? I personally am very pleased with it. Not too long, not too short, and just thr right about of mushy-ness. Tee-hee! In case you couldn't figure it out, while they were 'visiting' each other in dreamworld, they had no recollection of their lives as Serena and Darien, only as Serenity and Endymion. So of course Serenity wouldn't know that there was a Sailor Moon and that she was her. Hope that clears up any confusion. Until next time, my adoring public! -Sailor GlitterGirl
