Queen of Legends, Part Two, by Sailor GlitterGirl, March, 2001 Man! I just went and read my own fic and there are LOTS of typos in part one! YIKES! *sigh* Oh, well. Oh, and uh, heh, heh, Nat-chan (Such a sweet gal.) brought to my attention that I was, er, less than discreet on my opinion of lesbians and gays in my prologue, so I just wanna give a BIG, HUGE HUMONGO, MAGNUS, SUPER-DUPER apology to anyone that I offended, or who has a friend or relative that is gay/lesbian/whatever. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings! Honest! If there's one thing I can't stand it's offending someone to the point of hurting their feelings. *sniff* Sooooo sorry guys! Forgive me? Er, well, now that THAT'S out of the way, a BIG thanks to Glitter Girl and Mr. Tissue/Jello0 my very first e-mailers! No, it wasn't me, I did NOT e-mail myself! She said she read my fic cause of the similarity of names and she liked it! So sweet. As promoised in part one, as soon as I find time I will write a short fic dedicated to Glitter Girl and Jello. Girls, if you read this you can e-mail me and tell me if you want it to be a romance, adventure, or whatever. With that said, stage on! -A very apologetic Sailor GlitterGirl P.S. I know when you double click on the thingy above it gives you 'SailorGliterGirl@aol.com,' but if you can take the extra five seconds to erase that and put in my other e-mail address, I'd really appreciate it, due to my parents being, er, 'upset' about me giving out my privet address; I'll be having it changed soon. Gomen! -GlitterGirl Rated: PG for vioence and some select word content *****QUEEN OF LEGENDS***** Part Two: Unexpected Matches By: Sailor GlitterGirl At: emeraldgoddess@SailorJupiter.com Kunzite watched the golden haired girl retreat down the hall, his mind thinking quickly. This girl would be good for Darien. She didn't swoon at his very glance, and didn't throw herself into his arms. She was smart, and quick. And she was loyal. Fiercely loyal. She had proved that by giving up her chance for freedom. There was no way she would find her friends in this maze and she must have known it, and still she chose to stay behind He felt something special about that young woman, and right then and there that if possible, he would do his best to protect her. If she happened to get out of this. He glanced at Darien, and the odd look he was giving the swaying figure of the walking girl, and smiled slightly. Something in his Prince's eyes told him that his protection of that golden haired maiden would not be needed. Shaking his head, Darien turned away and headed towards the courtyard, where the carrage and his horse, along with his Generals, were waiting, silently pondering over what had made the girl so willingly throw away her freedom like that. ****************** Serena could feel them as she neared; she could always feel where they were, and her sense told her that Mina was being threatened. Serena picked up the pace, one hand over her heart, the other hand held out in front of her slightly, a faint, almost nonexistant silver glow surrounding her slender, though scabbed, palm. She was navigating the confusing corridors like she had grown up in the place, and knew exactly where she was going. Suddenly, a sharp pang slashed through Serena's chest, across her heart. She gave out a surprised cry of pain, then fell to one knee, clutching her heart. Bright flashes of orange threaded with gold danced across her vision. "Mina..." Serena whispered painfully. Mina was in trouble, she could feel it. It had never been this strong before, though. And she could tell it was because her blonde haired, blue eyed friend was trapped, helpless, probably chained as she had been. Serena stumbled to her feet and set off at a slow run towards wherever her heart was leading her. As she neared the leader of her Senshi, the pain became greater, and she ended up leaning on the wall for a moment to catch her breath. Gasping slightly, she pushed away from the cold stone and set off again, grim determination set in her features as she cut off her link to Mina almost completely, letting just enough of her friend's gold-ornage aura show through to lead her where she needed to go. Serena burst around a corner, and immediately her eyes flashed a slight silver at the sight before her. Mina was nearly backed against a wall, a wide-eyed Amy behind her, clutching her friend's arm. A muscled guard was in front of her, and he held himself in a way that immediately told Serena what he was after. "Come any closer and I'll knock that face that your so proud of right off your head!" Mina snarled. Her sky blue eyes took on a menacing glitter that made her suddenly look like someone would didn't want to tango with too early in the morning. "Why not, sweet thing? Don't you like me?" The guard drawled. "Judging from her attitude, I don't think so." Serena said coolly, but the warning in her voice was unmistakable. Mina let out an almost unnoticable sigh of relief. "Now leave!" Serena snapped lowly, her irises once again beginning to take on a silvery sheen. It was then, at the sight of this new maid's obvious anger- and hint of power- that the man decided he had other places to be, and casually walked out of the cell Then, no longer able to contain his panic, bolted, not bothering to lock the cell door behind him. With him out of sight, Serena graoned lightly and sank to the floor, gasping. "Serena!" the blonde gasped, and darted out of the open cell to support her slowly strengthening friend, Amy right next to her. The blue haired girl hugged Serena tightly, careful of her wounds. "What happened?" Mina cried, wrapped an arm around Serena protectively, meaning Serena's obvious wounds and injuries. "Apparently that captain that 'apprehended' us likes to gossip, and word of my, 'er' talents, as a certain sorcerer put it, got around to a power hungry man called Shazal. He had rather...ungentlmanly ways of trying to obtain knowledge of my power." "He had you beaten." Mina said bluntly, and Serena chuckled. "That's one way to put. At least, they thought it was beating; I've been rattled up worse by a racoon!" Mina laughed. "Where are the others?" Amy asked suddenly, sniffing lightly. "I'm not sure." Serena said, frowing. "I think I heard that Raye was being held in a special room for prisoners with special powers, but that's all. I was hoping you knew." Amy shook her head, then Mina spoke. "Lita got dragged away for a 'Submission Workout.'" Mina smiled gleefully. "Apparently they didn't like it when she threw the luitenant across the room and broke a soldier's arm." She laughed softly. "It's a good thing Raye wasn't there. She would have made it a whole lot worse." Serena laughed. "Got that right," she said, and rose slowly to her feet, her friends supporting her. "We'll have to look for them cell by cell." Serena said wryly. "I was only able to find you guys because you were together." "You used the life force homing signal?" Mina blanched. "How? I thought you couldn't control it." "I can't." Serena said bluntly, standing on her own. "I'm just lucky that I can use it at the moment." She shook her head. "But Lita and Raye aren't together, so they aren't emitting enough energy; I can't sense them." "I have an idea!" Amy suddenly spoke up. "What, Ames?" Serena asked. "Knowing Raye, she'll be spewing curses and spells left and right, correct?' "Either that or she'll be dead." Mina said. Due to Raye's telepathic abilities, she literally could not be shoved into unconsciousness if she didn't want to. "So, Serena, if you concentrate on not only their life force signals, AND Raye's power, it should be enough to attract your telepathic link." Amy beamed, looking quite proud of her analasys. "It's worth a try, Serena." Mina said. Serena looked thoughtful, then a smile donned on her face. "Hey, Amy?" the golden haired blonde asked. "Yes?" "How come you're so smart?" Amy blushed, and the girls laughed. "Alright now, just a moment..." Serena closed her eyes and pressed on hand over her heart, like before, and- "Hey Serena?" Mina interrupted. "Yeah, Mina?" Serena asked, holding back her frustration of being interrupted. "How'd you get out of your cell?" Mina looked at her quizically, as did Amy. Serena shifted uncomfortably "Well, um, uh, I guess..." Sighing at her friends' determined looks, she gave in and quickly explained the Prince's offer. "You could have gotten out of here and you GAVE IT UP??????!!!!!!!!" Mina shrieked. "You IDIOT BAKA! How could you?" "Easy." Serena looked at her friend, smiling. "I couldn't leave you guys behind. Besides, I wanna see that prince's face when we waltz out of here, ALL of us." Not waitng for anything else to be said, Serena once again placed one had over her heart, then held her other hand up in front of her, palm facing upward, a silver glow beginning to pulse from within her skin. Her eyes shut tight, Serena pictured her friends, pictured them glowing in the colors that she somehow knew prepresented their life force, and from Raye, whom was glowing a fiery, ominous flame red, came small spurts of dark violet, the color of her spells and curses. Together, the powers of their life forces and Raye's magic began to tug gently on Serena's senses, and she unconsciously took a step forward, and another, and another, and before long she was jogging towards and multi-colored light that only she could see, a light mainly colored a bright, electric forest green that was Lita, and that same flame red that was Raye, streaked with purple; her magic. The slender queen didn't even notice that her friend's were close at her sides, she was so intent on the prescense of the two objects of her search. It was nearly ten minutes minutes later, after countless turnes and twist through endless, maze-like corridors and hallways that Serena stopped abruptly in front of a large, iron enforced door. Shouts and grunts of pain could be hear from within, as well as the obvious smells of blood and a fight. Mina bashed open the doors, and the three girls were greeted by the figure of a bloody and battered Lita flying out the door. She slammed into Serena, sending them both crashing against the opposite wall. With a grunt and a whoosh as the breath was knocked from her lungs, Serena instinctively wrapped her arms protectively and sisterly around her chestnut haired friend. Amy rushed over and gently took Lita's wrist, checking for a pulse, and was relieved when Lita groaned and rubbed her head. Mina took a defensive and foreboding stance in front of the girls as three men strode out, all bearing their share of deep bloody gourges in their skin, and one with a broken arm, and a second with a twisted ankle; Lita's handy work. "Don't you know how to treat a lady?" Mina snarled, outraged at seeing one of her best friends hurt. "That woman ain't no lady!" one of the men spat, cradling his broken arm and wincing in pain. Mina narrowed her eyes. She sensed motion behind her, and withought looking behind her, Mina asked, "You okay, Lita-chan?" "Fine," Lita growled, glaring past Mina's stiff form at the men. "Just busy taking out the garbage." With that, Lita painfully rose to her feet, refusing to be kept down. She lumbered over to stand beside Mina, Serena keeping a hand on her arm. Amy keeping an eye out for any signs of permenant damage. "Let's go, girls." Serena said quietly, and with authority. She turned and started walking down the hallway again, knowing that Raye must be nearby. Amy turned and followed, Mina and Lita on her heels, the blonde helping her injuried comrade. "Hey! Get back here!" One of the men screamed, the only one without and broken or twisted limbs. He started running after the girls, but another man, the one with a twisted ankle, latched onto his wrist. "Let them go. You heard the orders. If they don't make it out in the hour his Highness gave them, then they're all ours." (AN: In part one, Serena thought 'I won't need that whole hour.' at the end, and I had meant for Darien to say, 'You have one hour to get them out.' or something like that, but due to...stuff, and my rushing, I forgot to add that. So what happened is Darien gave Serena only one hour to get her friend's in courtyard, got in minna? Gomen Nasai for any confusion!) The man that had started to run after then hesitated, then spat at the girl's retreating backs before following his fellow officers to the infirmary. ****************************** "Takai rylan shumata kanju..." Raye repeated her most powerful curses and spells over and over again, knowing it wouldn't do any good; she was simply using it as an outlet for her rage. (AN: I have no idea what Raye's curse means; I just made it up. If one of the words happens to mean something bad, then it was unintentional.) Raye was sitting on her knees on a mat in a perfectly circular room, the walls drapped and layered with thick curtains heavily threaded with Fernali ribbons and threads, the only natural substance known to restrain magical powers- when used properly. *Still, as Lita would say, it IS a bit of a compliment, seeing how much they used on me.* Raye thought darkly. As her raspy voice continued on with her her thoughts wondered to the girls. Were they okay? Did that Shazal-jerk hurt Serena, or any of the others? Raye spat at the thought of that low-down, sleazy excuse for a magic worker's name. He was evil, that one. But just as evil as he was, he twice as stupid. He had proclaimed freely what he was after; Serena's power, and therefore had given the girls reason to watch him, so any chance he'd ever had of obtaining what he wanted had flown out the window the moment he had opened his mouth. *Idiot, amatuer, naiive baka...* Raye thought. He was a disgrace to all who possessed magic. He had let them know what he was after, his plans. Raye snorted through her curses. *For a villian type guy, he sure isn't very bright.* (AN: Happy, Nat-chan? You mentioned what you thought of Shazal in your e-mail, and what you would have done, well, believe it or not, I DO know what I'm doing! Be patient! So there! *Gorgeous blonde struts off hautily, then trips. Nat-chan stiffles a laugh, with GlitterGirl glaring at her.* Alright, I'l stop with the AN's now.) Just then, in the middle of Raye's mental and verbal curses, there was a flash in the back of her mind, and Raye smiled widely. She felt her friends' prescence nearby. Suddenly, just as Raye was completeing her thoughts, the door to her right suddenly burst open, and a uniformed guard came flying in the room. Raye ducked down lower as the man flew over her, and hit the wall with a painful smack, then slumped down the wall to the floor, unconscious. Raye looked over again to see Mina and Serena burst in, followed closely by Lita and Amy, Lita of whom bearing a broken wrist and several bruises, blood trickling down her chin; her usual appearance, more or less. "Raye!" Serena screeched, and leapt at her friend. Raye, her hands still bound behind her, and her legs under her, was helpless to stop the charging blonde as the Senshi Queen barelled into her raven haired friend, finally breaking down and crying hysterically. Mina reached down and lifted her skirt up to her knee, then traced her finger along a fake birthmark in the symbol of Venus, which, ironically, resembled the symbol of a female, which had come Aphrodite's insignia. As she finished tracing it, a leather strap appeared around her thigh, a knife sheethed in a small scabbard, attached to the leather strap. Unsheething it, she walked over to behind Raye, who was more or less of the ground, with Serena on top of her crying uncontrollably, and swiftly slashed through her binds. With her hands free, Raye shoved Serena off her and into Mina's arms, then freed her numb legs. "That's better," She mumbled. Looking up again, she saw that Serena had composed herself, and now had a look of determination on her face. Unfazed by one of Serena's usual lightning quick mood changes, Raye stood, although shakily, and smiled her thanks at her 'queen' and friend. "Let's get out of here before anymore bone- headed jerks try and tango with ME!" Lita growled. The girls chuckled, then agreed with nods of their heads; this place was getting to them, the grimness too severe for talk. *************************** "Darien, we all know she won't make it, not in an hour, not out of that place!" Jadeite whined, shielding his eyes from the merciless sun. "It's great she's as loyal as you claim, but that won't help you find your way out of THAT prison." (AN: Ahhhh, the irony, ne?) "Quit whining, you baby." Darien said, smiling slightly. "Besides, I'm the one wearing black!" "Not my fault," the pale blonde haired man muttered. Nephlite chuckled. "What's the matter, Jed, hot?" "Well, the ladies tend to think so, but of course, I, being the modest one I am, beg to differ." Jedeite sat up straight in his saddle, putting on a mock expression of a vain lord. The Generals and their prince chuckled. They were all waiting by the gate of the ominous prison, waiting for this Senshi 'queen' and her 'court' to come out of the iron doors, which were a ways in front of them, in the near distance. (AN: How many of you agree that doesn't make sense?) "But seriously, guys, she's only got ten more minutes," Jadeite continued. "What are the chances that she'll get out in that amount of time? I mean, the chances are-" "Pretty good, obviously." Zoicite said suddenly, looking at the iron gate a ways away. The Generals took notice first that it was open, then all jaws dropped, save Darien's, as five unearthly beautiful young women, even in their beaten and bruised forms, walked calmly out of through the doors of the prison, and entered the outer courtyard. Not even looking at the guards and staring straight at them. Managing to gather their wits, the Generals regained their composure, and Nephlite's hand suddenly clenched angrily as he saw how beaten and bloody they were. *Even if they are considered criminals, they are still human beings, ladies even!* His scowl deepened. *I will have to talk to the Prince about this place. This is unacceptable! Have the brutes in this place no honor?* The Generals continued to gape inwardly as the Senshi neared, the girls mentally relishing and giggling over the men's reactions- which they weren't hiding as well as they thought they were. Finally, Serena and the girls stood before the prince and his Generals, their gazes as cold as the prince's. "Well, Prince of Earth?" Serena said evenly, managing to hide the tremor of weariness in her voice; she was near collapsing from exhaustion. "We are here." Darien was silent for a moment, then smirked. "Well, a promise is a promise," He said. He turned slightly to his Generals, silently chuckling at their expressions. "But first, introductions." "Fine." Serena said flately. "I am Serenity, Serena to my friends," she emphasized 'my,' "And these are my closest and dearest friends. Girls?" Mina stepped forward slightly. "I am Vemina," she said simply. "Julita; 'Lita," Lita said simply, frowning harshly at the men. "A...Amylanora. But...you may call me...Amy" The blue haired girl said softly. "My real name is Meraye, only to be used if you wish to be cursed for the rest of your life. Otherwise I am Raye." Darien nodded. "You probably already know me. I am Prince Endymion, Darien to my friends," he, too, emphasized on 'my.' "Generals?" "Kunzite, first in command of the Guardian Generals. We are the Prince's elite guard," He smiled, "And friends." "Jadeite, second in command." smirked a the one with pale blonde hair. "Nephlite, third in command." This one had dark, wavy hair that went to below his shoulders. "Zoicite, fourth in command and the tactical officer," the last General said softly, but there was an unmistakable strength to his voice. He had waist length curly brown hair tamed by a leather cord. "Well, now that that's over with, guys, will you each please help these ladies?" The Generals nodded eagerly, and Mina had to stiffle a giggle, but it didn't escape Kunzite, who rode up beside her and, reaching down, swooped her up easily on to saddle in front of him, sideways. "And just what, pray tell, is so funny?" He asked, smiling slightly. Mina suddenly felt herself blush as he looked down at her, then she giggled again. "Nothing," she said, winking up at him, and Kunzite suddenly felt as if he were in the clouds. "I don't need help," Lita grumbled as Nephlite climbed down off his bay and gently took hold of the injured brunette around the waist and softly lifted her up, placing her saddleside on the horse. He swung himself of behind her, and reached around her slender form to reach the reins. "I could've walked, you know." she muttered. "I know," Nephlite said, "But then again, I just couldn't bring myself to ignore such a lovely young lady in distress." Lita snorted, but a light pink stained her cheeks, and it didn't go unnoticed by her escort, who smiled. Raye was smirking at Lita, who scowled at her purple eyed friend, when she was suddenly siezed from behind in an iron grip. Shrieking, she autimatically called tiny red flame to spring from her fingertips. "Put me down you %@!!*&@%^$#*@" She cried, holding her flame where her captor was sure to see it. "Woah, down babe, just helping you up." And that strong hold lifted her up, and she was suddenly staring up into twinkling and laughing sky blue eyes. "You're just lucky I'm stiff from being chained up, buddy, or you'd be flame broiled and cursed every way you can think of." Raye hissed, Jadeite raised an eyebrow. "Well then I'd better make sure I don't drop you, eh?" He winked at her, making Raye first fume even more, then blink, and blush as she realized this guy was flirting with her. She scowled, thinking of several ways to curse him later. But silently, although she ignored it, she realized she liked THIS guy's flirting. Amy was looking nervously up at Zoicite as he reached down a hand to her. "Come on up." He said. Amy drew in a shaky breath, then reached out a cautious hand to take his. She gasped quietly at his stronge, but gentle grip. "Now put your foot in the sterup and jump up in front of me, alright." He explained softly. Amy nodded. Gripping his hand tighter, she placed her foot in the now emty sterup as told, and, using her experience as a Alley Senshi, leapt up. The horse for some reason, decided at that moment to have a fit and sheered away from Amy. Amy shrieked, as her foot lost it's place and she felt her hand slid from Zoicite's, and prepared herself for the impact of the hard ground. But it neer came as she felt a lithe, muscular arm snake around her waist, yanking her to a warm, strong form. Amy dared to open her eyes to find herself sitting sidesaddle on the horse that had just thrown her, however unintentionally, and was snuggled firmly into Zoicite's embrace, shaking. "THAT is why I don't like horses." Amy muttered. Zoicite chuckled, and hugged her tighter, rendering Amy a blushing maid. Serena, who had seen the whole scenario, was grinning wickedly, exchanging meaningful sideling looks with Mina, matchmaking plans forming in their blonde minds, for more than just Amy. Serena didn't miss how Lita didn't put up her usual fight and banter when being offerd Nephlite's help, nor the way Jadeite was obviously flirting with Raye and she was tolerating it, perhaps even liking it. And while Mina was secretly communicating evil plans with Serena, the golden haired blonde didn't miss how closely Kunzite was holding the pale blonde young woman. "Funny how good they all look together, ne?" Said a voice beside and above her. Serena whirled and scowled as she looked up into the face of the Crown Prince. She opened her mouth, a reply ready on her swift tongue, when she was suddenly no longer on the ground. *Huh?* she had time to think before finding herself in the prince's arms, on his tall, ebony black stallion. One hand gripping the reins, the other around her waist, holding her close to him. "There. That's better." the prince said mostly nonchalantly, but with a hint of mischief in his smooth, cold voice. Serena growled and moved out of his hold, and gasped lightly when he firmly, yet gently, pulled her back against him. "Now, now, be good your highness, and stay put." he drawled. "Can't let the Queen of the riffraff fall and injure herself, now can we?" He smirked down into her glaring gaze, sapphire eyes flashing, as she muttered somethin not-so-polite, and allowed herself to stiffly settle into his embrace, making a mental note to herself to get back at him later. Yet it didn't escape her attention how well she fit into his arms, the top of her head inches from his chin, how she fit perfectly between his arms, against his chest... She growled lowly as she snapped out of those thoughts, just realizing that she was even having them, and vowed to slip something slimy and wet into the prince's bed sometime soon. "Generals, move out!" Darien shouted, his voice rumbling deep in his chest against Serena's ear. Darien left the Galaham prison as the gates were swung open by two guards, followed by the four Generals, each with a weary Alley Senshi Princess in their arms. Serena couldn't help but smile at the thought of getting to go to the palace; she hadn't fogotten what the big-headed prince had said in the cell. She was immensely happy for her friends, glad that they would have the chance at least once in their lives to experience a home and decent food and clothing, not these raggedy dresses that were ready for the rag- bin, and not food that was stolen off a vender's cart. Sighing contentedly, she didn't notice when she drifted off into a peaceful slumber, and unconsciously nestled deeper into the Prince's warm arms. Noticing the slight change in position, Darien looked down to see the girl sleeping, worn from up to two days of no sleep and at least half a day of constant beating, add to that using her unnamed power to free her friends. Darien glanced back to see the other four girls either asleep, or nodding off, though he noted that Lita was fighting weariness with all she had, until Nephlite waved his hand over the young woman's eyes, his fingertips glowing pale green, and Lita's head flopped down onto her shoulder, fast asleep. The prince turned back around, smiling. Looking down at the slumbering 'queen' in his arms, something told him that this bet was going to be more fun than he thought. And not just for him. From the looks of things, his Generals would be having a good time as well. To Be Continued... Like it, hate it, needs work? E-MAIL E-MAIL and tell me what you think.
