"Stand Inside Your Love" ~Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Book 1- "To Stand Inside Your Love" Prologue *Time Table 1: The Past, Silver Millennium* Serenity ran through the gardens at a breakneck speed. 'Faster, faster, faster....' she mentally chanted as she sprinted across the courtyard. Of all days to be late! Her mother had briefly explained to her ahead of time the great importance of this meeting. As the heir to the Silver Millennium and Moon Kingdom, it was imperative that she put in her best appearance before the ambassadors of the nine planets. These ambassadors would report to their respective homeworlds on the conditions of the Moon Kingdom and appraise the Crown Princess for their rulers. Only then, the sailor senshi would be sent to the Moon Kingdom and set up as the guardians to the Silver Millennium. Serenity made it to the doors of the conference hall and skidded to a halt. In the mirror to the left of the massive oak doors, she checked her appearance and calmed herself as best as she could. One glance at the clock to her right confirmed that her arrival had been in the nick of time. With a soothing breath of fresh air, she opened one of the doors and entered as gracefully as possible. "Ah, right on time." Queen Serenity smiled gently at her high-spirited daughter. She knew very well the princess had lost all track of time again in the gardens while taking care of her prize roses. Each rose bush was tended to with loving care and was created especially for the princess' guardians as a token of thanks and friendship for their arrival. There was a red rose bush for the princess herself, as well as royal blue, mint green, golden yellow, and vibrant purple rose bushes. How the princess had gotten the mint green one was anyone's guess, the queen thought fondly. It was such a sweet gesture indeed. The ones grown for the Outer Senshi had already been sent to their new owners with a note of thanks and many words of kindness. Queen Serenity nearly laughed when she thought of the replies from the Senshi. The replies contained surprised thanks and gratitude for the thoughtful gifts from each of the Outers. The sweet and unselfish gesture touched the normally cold, unresponsive Senshi more than they could express and the queen knew that they would forever be loyal to their princess and defend her with their lives. "Serena," Queen Serenity referred to her daughter by nickname. "These are the representatives from the nine planetary kingdoms. My lords and ladies, this is my daughter - The Crown Princess, Serenity the Second." Serena sunk into a graceful curtsy before the ambassadors and rose with a gentile smile upon her face. Inwardly, she was counting the moments before she could finally leave the room. Her prize roses were waiting for her and she was just itching to get back to them. However, one look at the Royal Advisor, Lady Luna, told her that wouldn't happen just yet. Luna gave the princess a stern look to stop Serena's nearly imperceptible fidgeting but softened it with a smile. Luna and the queen spoke with the representatives for another hour before concluding the discussion with tired but satisfied smiles on all their faces. "Thank you all for attending this conference. I am most grateful to you and the planetary rulers for the opportunity to unite this universe. May you have a safe journey home and we look forward to the arrival of the Sailor Senshi princesses." Queen Serenity addressed the room with a brilliant smile. As each representative filed out of the room with a friendly nod or smile to the princess, Serena fought to keep her shock at her mother's words internal. Princesses? The Sailor Senshi were the planetary princesses? "No wonder this meeting was so important and crucial." Serena murmured to herself. "It's also a meeting for a treaty among the planets." Luna, who walked silently to the princess' side, nodded. She serenely brushed her mass of long, wavy black hair off of her shoulder and focused her crystalline blue eyes on the Serena. "That's correct, Serena. The meeting solidified the treaty among the planets. The only one we must wait for is Earth. The Outer Planets have already signed the treaty and are part of the Silver Millennium." Luna explained as she took a seat opposite of Serena. Her mother took the one next her on the left and continued, "This meeting just officially added the Inner Planets with the exception of Earth. The terran rulers felt it was best to send the Crown Prince himself along with his Royal Guards in a few months to finalize Earth's entrance to the Silver Millennium. Since he will assume the throne in just a few years, he will have the final say in determining Earth's entrance." Serena sat in mute silence. As uncharacteristic as it was of the normally cheerful girl, they could see that she was mulling over the new information with a quick understanding of its importance. She had a lot of surprises to take in at once, and needed a moment to let it all sink in. 'My friends. All along, they were to become my Sailor Senshi. Who would have thought of it?' Serena mused with a half-grin. She glanced up to find Luna and her mother patiently awaiting a reply from her. "At least they won't have to go home so soon after coming to see me this time." Serena said with a full-fledged grin. Her expression suddenly changed into a solemn look as she further replied, "I understand, I really do. I'll do my best to help convince the Earth Prince to join the Silver Millennium." END OF PROLOGUE
