What, exactly, does the word “normal” mean? Dictionary.Com states: “Conforming with, adhering to, or constituting a norm, standard, pattern, level, or type; typical.” They couldn’t even define it with out using the word normal in it! What does that tell us?
As much as “normal” doesn’t have a good definition, I think everyone uses it. When I use the word, I don’t have the same definition as Dictionary.Com. To me, normal is, well, like me. But in theory that is not normal at all. J Normal, being like the majority of other people? Well I guess everyone is like everyone else in some way or another; blonde hair, blue eyes, 10 fingers. But everyone is unlike everyone in the same ways; hair cut, piercings, tattoos, nicknames.
So, then, what is the definition of weird? Is it the opposite of normal? I consider myself normal, but at the same time, I consider myself weird too… am I a walking oxy moron? (some might say the moron part is true… hey! J ) Or am I just weird in a normal sort of way?
So, what do you think? I would like to get your opinion. E-mail me! Let me know what normal is to you.
