| ... She immediately ran to her sisters room, her sister was sleeping peacefully with her radio tuned to the oldies show. She needed to calm down. The dream scared her more then she liked. She needed to get out, get some fresh air. She decided to get away for a bit; her life was putting too much pressure on her and thats what was bringing about these horrible dreams. She left just like any other time, called into work to say she wouldn't be there for a few days, packing lightly, and telling her sister she was leaving for awhile because she needed some time to think. She hopped in the car and started driving, not sure of where she was going, but glad to finally have silence. She thought about a lot of things she hadn't really had a chance to think about until now. Her social life, or lack there of, was in need of some fine tuning. The only friends she had were from work and she knew even then they were talking about her. She thought about her love life and how much she had messed that up. She thought about her job, knowing it wasn't going to take her anywhere in life. After about 2 hours she had had enough of her thoughts. She was going to go crazy if she didn't think about something else, so, she turned on the radio which, of course, was on the oldies show. Her sister always listened to it and it annoyed her to no end, but, already missing her sister she left it on. Feeling as though she was driving in cirlces she decided to pull over at a gas station to ask where the nearest motel was. She pulled up to find a billy bob type person sleeping in the clerks chair. She went in grabbed a chocolate bar and a pop and went up to the counter. After many coy, and useless attempts to wake the clerk, she filled her tank, left the appropriate amount on the counter and left. On her way out she noticed she wasn't the only other person there. She began to worry about the clerk, thinking maybe this person would steal from him, of, what if, the person was there befor and she hadn't even noticed, and what if the clerk wasn't sleeping, but was dead. She stopped herself knowing these were just crazy thoughts from driving for too long. The other car pulled out just behind her, again she began to worry, going back to the suspisions that he had hurt the clerk, what if he was going to kill her too? what if she knew too much? She began to speed up, so did he. She made a right turn, so did he. She made a left, so did he. She couldn't stop her thougths now, she was sure he was coming to get her. She decided to make one more turn, just to be sure. He didn't follow, she felt so stupid. How could she think someone was after her? She had to stop being paranoid. Luckily there was a motel just ahead. She decided she could use some sleep considering it was now rolling past midnight. She wasn't quite sure where the time went, but figures that how it goes when you're all alone. She got a room, with a rusty key and dirty door. Although she didn't mind because it was a place to sleep. She used the phone in her room to call her sister, there was no answer, but she didn't worry because she knew her sister would be asleep at this time of night. She lay in the cheap motel room wondering where she would end up tomorrow. Slowly beginning to doze off she realized she didn't want to fall asleep only to have another one of her nightmares. So she got up and went to the motels main office in hopes of finding simething to read. After finding a few magazines she headed back to her room, only to find her door open. She thought nothing of it thinking she had forgotten to close it on her way out. She made her way back to the bed and turned on a small lamp which provided her with enough light to read. She quickly skimmed through the magazines realizing this would just not keep her eyes open. So she decided to have a nice shower, but just as she was entering the bathroom she felt that familiar tug and was tossed to the bed. She thought it must be the killer from the gas station and she went to scream, again not being able to. The man had placed a pillow over her face and was suffocating her. She fought with all her might only to wake up and see that it was now morning and none of this had actually happened. She decided this was getting to be way too much for her and she neded to do something about it and soon. | ||||
