This six mile spur was built for construction of the Dallas Power and Light (natural gas powered) electric plant on Lake Ray Hubbard. It hasn't seen a train in probably 20 years and is now owned by Texas Utilities (TUEX). These photos were taken October 15, 2000.
Most signs are still intact
Straight and level right of way
Starting to get overgrown
Disappearing.......
This is the bridge over Duck Creek. There have been washouts here and the track is currently impassable. Behind where this photo was taken, the track is at a 15 degree angle. I had hoped this would be a wooden bridge, but alas it's a concrete span.
