Hello - My name is Anne. I am from Sydney, Australia. I love to go hiking and camping. Every chance I get I throw the tent and sleeping bag into my Mitsibishi Sigma and head for the rugged Australian Bush.

I now have an Oz Tent RV3 - it erects in 30 seconds - a little longer for me as I have a back injury - lots of room - sleeps 4 easily - side panels can be zipped onto the front awning. Go to the following website to see the range of fast erecting tents available. They are very fast to fold away as well. www.oztent.com.au

I had a 4 man tent - although I would hate to sleep four in it - I have two flies for the tent - one I use over the tent the other at the back - this makes an extra sleeping area or a great place to store your essentials - water - food containers etc. The flies are silver one side for summer (reflecting the heat) and green for winter (to attract heat) - I have a self-inflating mattress and a summer/winter sleeping bag. In the height of summer it is too hot so I use it as a mattress. I have an old kettle and various saucepans and frying pans. Last trip I made damper - it was very nice - if I do say so myself.

Some of the magnificent cliffs surrounding the camping ground at Newnes. he camping ground is called "Little Capertee". You have to cross a creek which looks much deeper than it is . In spring the area is haloed with the yellow blossoms of the wattle trees.

| I have just come back from a hiking trip to a place called Newnes which is near Lithgow in NSW. This is a very special place with lots of wildlife. Wombats, Bowerbirds, parrots, kangaroos and the odd snakes. The place I camp at is called Little Cappertree. It is a lovely grassy area surrounded by huge cliffs. You can climb about two thirds of the way up these cliffs before the rocks stop you. There is a way up to the top but so far it has eluded me. Finally found the way to the top go to www.geocities.com/lotsofharmony48/index.html and click on Mystery Mountain to see the views from the top and the eagle. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
