| I am but a simple man. I know little of the world or of it's fatalistic nature-- but common truth prevails upon the enraging veil of emotion beset upon me by this state of fraternal chaos in the wake of a mass enlightening. This is a gross generalization of terms, for it is not I who have awakened, nor have I, we, awakened, in the manner that we knew these things all along, and our sleep was not one borne of a weariness of the soul, but, for most (regard this generaliztion for what it is, my apology) one bred, that is to say, we are, have become, a very distinct Breed, one apart from what we could, could have, become, of sleepers. And for the lack of Self, we sleep. But- startled such by this great abeysance we awakened with the fervor of those who saught only to nudge the resting Lion, and for meat we cried aloud for the blood of those great fools. And when entreated- when the hunt was too long upon us and our bellies distended with the grissle of the beast, sleep- surrender- serenity enhanced our virtue yet again and we come upon the sleep again, as it was but different, we have now one eye open and teeth always beared, but sleep same it is, earned now perhaps, but as different as it was always a wrongness. For the lamb who has but the meat it surrenders upon demand to besiege the lion, asleep, for love of Ignorance, a fool- yes-. but a great one, undeniably so, as undeniable as death becomes to that lamb, as hunted. Can you call either evil, wrong? Fools, all- yes; but compassion, as the antithetical silence, is a virtue that commands itself to good and evil knows nothing of it- The lamb, guilty, forgiven, compassionate of silnce. The Lion, guilty, forgiven, compassionate of sleep. When shall we awaken? |
