| *This is the alumnae homecoming symbol that will be passed on from the current homecoming event host to the next. *An earlier rendition of the helm by Raffy Siongco Lapid, HS 75 was given during the millennium homecoming. *The helm steered by a competent captain, keeps the ship steady and afloat until it reaches its destination. *Handcrafted from wood, rope and paper, the helm represents the spirit of the alumna � creative, resourceful, competent, giving of her talents and abilities in service to others, rising to the challenge. *The choice and texture of materials evoke the earth and nature, environmental advocacies of Stellans. *The creative choice of materials � the chopping board, the tray and chopsticks � are used for nourishment and nurturing, roles women as homemakers do. *The spokes represent the different sectors that the SMCAAI interacts with : - FMM sisters - SMC admin and teachers - SMC students - SMC parents - SMC alumnae, and - the world at large (educational sector,communities, etc. here and around the world) |
