Dearest fellow Stellans, Welcome to our 2004 alumnae homecoming! This is a most upbeat finale to the decade-of -the-70s classes who have been hosting the past homecomings. Congratulations to High School Class 1979 headed by our event chair Beng Lejano Yatco with registration-in-charge Sophie de los Santos who have been working tirelessly to make our homecoming a success. Our Alma Mater celebrates its 50th anniversary next year and this 2004 event is the alumnae eve to that golden milestone. When we marked the millennium, the year of grace and renewal, we did so with the celebration of SMC alumnae in the year of the feminist principle. It was the year FMM sisters were canonized. Next year, as Stellans again unite in celebrating the SMC golden year, it will be auspiciously, the Centennial Year of the Feminist Movement. Our warmest thanks to alumnae all over the world who have been the moving spirit behind SMCAAI, to all the officers, past and present who have given their time, expertise and love to our association; to all who have served as homecoming event chairs, host classes and committees; to our families for supporting us in our alumnae projects and dreams, and to Stella Maris College, the FMM sisters, our teachers and mentors, for molding us into the women we have become, strong, able, God-centered, nurturing, intuitive. Today, we return in joy and excitement to renew and make new friendships, relive memories and be together again just as it was years ago. Have a great time at our homecoming! |
