Tours
In the last 2 years, the Pipeband have managed to go on two different tours. The first being in the summer of 2002, when we all jetted off to Hungary, the second being in the summer of 2003 where again we jetted off to sunny Sardinia.

Hungary 2002

We spent a week in Hungary, that may not sound a lot, but turned out to be very tiresome! Most days were spent rehersing in the late morning, relaxing by the pool or in and around Szechesfehervar (the town we were staying in) and then performing at night. Some days would see us doing excursions to such places as Lake Balotov or to the capital, Budapest.

The night performances were recieved very well as usual on the open air stage in the middle of the town. Hundreds were there to watch not only us, but the many other nations that had joined us in the annual folk festival held there. We also took part in many street marches through the town plus a one off performance at a Hungarian castle.

All of the pipeband had a great time and wish to thank Mr Walsh, Mr Burns, Mr Alan, Mrs Wright and Mrs Wilson for making it so good!

Sardinia 2003

The Pipeband spent almost 2 weeks in Sardinia, every day being very tiring in the intense Sardinian sun as well as very long! However this did not mean to say everyday was not enjoyed, quite the opposite infact as you would expect from our tours.

The first weeks was spent just outside the capital in a hotel with a pool that went down very well with the band. Most nights were spent either playing on the stage in the capital itself, or in other towns that we travelled to. Because some of these town were very far away, each day was very long, usually only returning to the bed at 1am!

The second week was based in a smaller town where everybody stayed in the school's boarding facilities. Each room taking 20 allowed the band to socialise more, especially teacher/pupil. Being based in the town itself also allowed for more relaxation time that could be spent enjoying drinks over the magnificent view or exploring the many shops.

At both venues, the band were once again recieved very well and as a result of both this tour and the last, been asked to many other folk festivals around the world. Again we wish to thank the large staff of Mr Burns, Mr Walsh and Carol, Mr Miller, Mrs Wright and Mr and Mrs Wilson.
