MASTERthree

General:
When SnapDragon was the first (known) person to reach the Master levels, I remember he said that M3 was easily the most difficult stage in the whole game. And if you only consider the "official" paths, he was definitely right. Anybody who has unlocked Master is likely to have spent a long time before beating this level the first time. Things have changed since then. For the consistency strat, you will never have to go onto those terrible moving platforms. M3 is no longer the hardest level. The strat for consistency makes use of the obvious shortcut, and there are many variations of it. Im not sure who figured out the way Ill describe, maybe it was sdkess.

I want a consistent finish!
Part 1: The Hill. You have to go over the hill, there is no way to avoid that. Hold back, left, position yourself at the back of the starting platform, between the 4th and 5th tile from the left, looking forward. Hold forward to go over the hill, if you need to correct, do so very slightly. When you go down, reduce your speed.

Part 2: The Jump: Go right after the hill, then left. The crucial part is positioning yourself. Note the platform is 4 tiles wide. Position yourself on the rightmost column of tiles, about 6-7 tiles behind the front edge. Face the second tile from the left in the front row (its a light one), i.e. face slightly left. Wait until the moving platforms go away, then hold forward. Roll over that 2nd tile, keep holding forward. As you hit the beanstalk (pretty far to the left), let go of the control stick. You will roll along the beanstalk for very a short distance and nearly immediately break the ribbon.

This may sound a bit complicated, but try it, it isnt. It easily works 90% of the time, and when it fails you will know why.

I want a good score!
Follow the WR strat, but you can reduce speed a bit while going down the hill. By reducing speed I dont mean pulling back, but rather not holding forward. 10800 is your minimum goal.

I want the record!
Boost left and head up the hill full speed. This isnt very hard as you will see yourself. As you go down the hill, you should continue holding forward, maybe you can reduce speed a little. As you reach the bottom of the hill, pull over to the right, so that you just make it past the stick. Now an important thing happens, but you cant control it. As you hit the platform with the stick, you will bounce up, but ideally you wont. If you dont go up at all, you have the chance for the WR. Whatever happens, hold forward and then simply aim for the goal. Actually I believe you should not hold forward all the time, but I forgot really. Its more of a feeling how you get into the goal (and by the way that is directly, you dont hit the beanstalk like for the consistency strat). A part of the beanstalk is likely to be in your way if youre fast, and for the WR, you fly past it to the right below and VERY close to it. I hit it myself sometimes, but you can avoid it.

Current Record: 10880
Finish: 54.40
Bananas: 0

Difficulty rating for 10800:
2/5
