MASTERone

General:
Welcome to what is probably the most hated stage of all 118 in this game. M1 is the Devil, and if you want good scores you can rely to exactly 100% on an old pal of mine (not only mine, though), luck. Yes, you can make it into the goal very fast by doing nothing else than pressing forward. And no, there is nothing you can contribute to good scores. It's all luck.

I want a consistent finish!
At least M1 behaves rather nicely on Normal Mode. Roll forward a bit, and at about mid-55 (youll see yourself), roll onto the platform and hold forward. As you roll along, the platforms will converge pretty nicely and youll just roll over. However, after a couple of seconds, you will be too fast, i.e. youll start jumping because the platforms have not converged yet. Simply adjust your speed, and you can go all the way to the goal without jumping much. You will finish 40-41ish.

I want a good score!
Good scores start at 9000 points, and you want to follow the WR strat to achieve such a score.

EDIT: As I have just read on the SMB board and tried out myself, you can get a score of 8602 easily within 2 minutes. This was posted by "z", so credit goes to him. Do nothing at the start, try to pause and unpause so that you are paused at exactly 56.40. Hold forward, press start. If you keep holding forward all the time, you ALWAYS get into the goal at 43.01, for a score of 8602. If youre satisfied with that score, dont waste your time hoping for that "lucky bounce"...

I want the record!
Bleah, have fun. Roll to the back-left corner of the starting platform. At about mid-56, turn around and roll onto the first moving platform. Keep straight and hold forward. Thats it, nothing more. Oh well, you might be interested why you can never make it into the goal if you do it like that. Well, its because you werent lucky enough. You have to get those fabled "lucky bounces", you know?

So what is a "lucky bounce"? When you do this strat, youll get a rather high bounce after a couple of platforms. This happens all the time, so dont get excited yet. When you land, youll bounce up again (not really high), and as you land from this bounce, you should hit the far corner of a platform, bounce forward and hit the near corner of the following platform. If that happens, you will get hit up into the air very high and at a very high speed. That is the "lucky bounce". Well ok, you need to get into the goal too (Ive had 2 failed lucky bounces before I got the WR).

Current Record: 9232
