EXPERTforty-three

General:
I usually skip this on Normal Mode by using a warp on E42, and there is a good reason for doing that. E43 is considered one of the harder levels on Expert, and few people like it. One reason is that the camera screws you up sometimes, which can be very annoying. I used to have this record for ages, until one day FerretDruid came along with one of his trademark Ferret-strats. Luckily, reverse-engineeering works well on this level (few bananas), and so I studied the movement of the platforms and found out quickly what he was doing. That is, I though I knew it, I actually improved slightly on his strat and beat him again. I know the WR strategy for this level is causing some confusion, so I will try my best to put an end to that.

I want a consistent finish!
Basically, do not get onto the first platform the "normal way," instead go forward and drop off on the left side. This is much easier, you have more space to brake (the whole width of the platform, as you get onto it from the side), and its consistent. At about 51.00, jump down to the (stationary) middle platform. Wait a bit, get onto the plaform that is coming down. Now the platform youre on will move up, and at about 41.50 jump down and land on the moving plaform below. Wait until this platform brings you to the goal, and roll in at about 36 I think.

I want a good score!
Anything above 10000 is good, and if you complete the WR strat youre likely to have over 10500. Follow the WR strat.

I want the record!
Notation: Right at the start, a bit right and ahead of you, there is a corner. Note this corner, it will be important. Also note the two sets of moving platforms. On each of the two, the two platforms are connected by a wooden (well, its brown) stick. This is important too.

Hold back-left at the beginning, let go after a split-second. The ball will roll back, change direction because it (slowly) hits two rails, and it should stop about 2 tiles away from the back-left corner of the starting platform. You should face the right set of moving platforms. If necessary, adjust you monkey so you are looking in the right direction. At low 56, hold forward, swirl to the right, jump over the rail on the right about 1-2 tiles before the corner I mentioned previously, pull over to the left, make it back onto the platform about 4 (not sure how many exactly) tiles after the corner. For the record, you must keep holding up-left, you are not allowed to make any corrections.

If done properly (and this is fairly consistent), you will jump over the left side of the starting platform, bounce once on the moving platform, pick up the banana and hit the left edge of the wooden stick at high speed. Note: You should hit the stick most of the time. The hard and rather random part is after hitting the stick. Often, you will get hit over to the left at high speed, but far away from any platform. What you want to do is land on the middle platform. The important thing for the WR strat is that you dont want to land on the front of the middle platform, roll along and bounce up from the back rail, instead you want to land directly on the back rail. Straighten out, and the jump up from the back rail of the middle platform should be high enough to get you onto the moving platform (which is pretty high up), then get the banana and head into the goal. The real problem with this strat is that you are too high and you will just hit the party ball often. Alternatively, your bounce from the middle platform will be a bit too low, youll bounce against the front edge of the moving plaform and then slowly into the goal. You will still get over 10500 though.

Well yeah, what was FerretDruid doing then? In fact, the only other vid of E43 I have seen is by sdkess, and he did it Ferret-style too. After hitting the stick and bouncing onto the middle platfrom (apparently you dont need to land at the back rail), they dont straighten out, but instead they go over to the left and bounce off the wooden stick of the second set of platforms. It seems hard to get the second banana and it looks terribly hard from the vid, so you should try yourself to see what is easier for you.
