"The SEGA Level"

General:
E22 is commonly referred to as the "SEGA level". Try to guess why. ;)
Like
E21, this is one of the "problem stages"
on Normal Mode. As I hope to show you, this need not be the case. At
first
some notes on the layout and the
terminology: The SEGA platforms go from west to east. The S consists of
an
upper and a lower part. The E has an
outer, an upper inner and a lower inner part. G and A both have an
outer
and an inner part.
I want a consistent finish!
Roll forward to the sloping part. Position yourself at the west end of
where
you can roll down. Roll down
diagonally to the right, over the platform and onto the lower part of
the S.
By rolling diagonally, you can safely
stop on the S. Move around to the northernmost part of the lower part
of the
S. Back up, and go full speed to the
east. Bounce against the outer E, fly over the next gap and land on the
upper inner part of the E. Jump over the
next gap to land on the outer part of the G. Follow the outer G, move
onto
the outer A, go around it (to where the
bunch is), then hop over the tiny gap to the inner part of the A and
finish.
It takes about 25-30 seconds that way,
but its very consistent.

The E22 path for a consistent finish.
I want a good score!
11400 is your goal, and its not hard either. You need to use the WR
strat.
I want the record!
There are (at least) 2 somewhat different ways with which you can get
the
record. However, the beginning is
nearly the same for both ways, so you have to adapt to whatever bounces
you
get. Boost left, go right, a bit up the
edge, then fall off left (like B9). Bounce once near the edge of the
sloping
part, then on the ramp, then hold
up-right. Depending on where you bounce on the ramp, one of the two
bounces
I will describe later will be more
likely to occur. Anyway, you land on the S, and most of the time youll
get
hit up high as you hit the edge of the E.
If this happens, restart. Sometimes though, you will magically just
roll
over the big gap from the S to the E without
jumping at all. Get the single banana at the end of the E, and still
hold
up-right. Now two different things can
happen (a couple of other bounces can occur, but you dont want those):
Strat 1: This will more likely occur when you bounce on the east side
of the
ramp at the beginning. After getting
the single banana, you will continue to roll over gaps without jumping.
When
you reach the outer A, reduce speed
a bit, pull over to the left, pick up the bunch on the left and
hopefully
bounce against the egde to the left, then go
into the goal.
Strat 2: This will happen more likely if you hit the west side of the
ramp
at the beginning. After the single banana,
you get hit up (not too high) by the inner part of the G, try to swirl
to
the right, then left again, reduce speed a bit,
pick up the bunch (approximately centrally) and get hit over to the
left.
The hole in the inner part of the A can be
annoying, but if youre lucky youll either roll around it close to the
edge
or jump over it.
