ADVANCED 8

General:
I remember the good old days when boosting was discovered...I could get home after work, play for an hour and get like 5 WRs. One of the stages boosting lead to an easy new record was A8. I played it for a while and finally managed to get that one extra fram, from a .16 to a .18 finish. It was a tied WR with Packattack for a long time, but when I looked at the rankings someday I saw Packattack destroyed the record by like 40 points. How that was possible, you ask? Read on, dear friend, for I will reveal to you the truth about A8...

I want a consistent finish!
...but I will not reveal to you how you can consistently beat this inhumanly difficult stage.

I want a good score!
4660 is where good scores start I would say, follow the WR strat.

I want the record!
Even though I didnt look at the rankings for this level, Im sure few people have better scores than 4640 at the moment. This will change :). Boost left, but only about one tile to the left, then go right about 2 tiles, then left again. Here comes the trick: Pull over to the left edge, you want to hop onto the edge and get as far to the left as you can without falling off (for not falling off, you obviously have to pull over to the right again). When going for the record, you should fall off often:). There is a nice German word for this, "Nahtoderfahrung," which means something like "near death experience." This brief rolling on the verge of a fallout will accelerate you. There is a good way to check if youre on track for the record - your speed as you pick up the first banana. For the WR, I had 66 mph I think, and that is hard to get. 63 is standard, you may want to finish 64 runs, and 65 will give you a really good score. Also note that your terminal speed while rolling down is 70 mph. Anyway, after recovering from being close to death, simply get all bananas and into the goal.

Current record: 4686
Finish: 18.43
Bananas: 10

Difficulty rating for 4660:
2/5
