General:
A17 is supposed to be the small brother of E7, but luckily its not
nearly
as terrible for good
scores. There are two different ways of doing the finish, and since you
can
potentially get the
WR with both of them, Ill write two WR strats.
I want a consistent finish!
Start off by holding up-right. You will immediately make it over to the
right, and that saves a lot
of time. Go up the ramp, dont jump down to the goal (unless youve
practiced it a lot), go
down, take the curvy section nice and slowly.
I want a good score!
Your goal is 10800, for which you will probably need some training.
Whatever
you do, use the
first strat below for the finish.
I want the record!
Strat I: Hold up-right to get over, pick up the banana on the left, use
the
corner here to roll up
the ramp at high speed. Roll along the left side, pull over to the
right
near the top, get the far
banana, then jump down directly into the goal, ignoring the banana down
there.
Strat II: Do the beginning just as for Strat I. After you get the
second
banana (and this time I
suppose you want to pick up the near one), you need to go a bit right
and
jump into the goal
from the regular side (the side youd enter if you went along the curvy
part), then pick up the
banana after the goal.
Notes: My PR is 10920, I used Strat I and got 2 bananas. This score was
beaten when sdkess
and Packattack both had 10936, and I know Packattack used Strat II and
got 3
bananas. It
seems as though there is little difference between those two strats,
but
Strat II is a lot harder.
The WR of 10970 was done with Strat II, but Packattack was lucky enough
to
get both
bananas on the bridges above the goal, giving him a total of 4 bananas.
You
cant do that on
purpose, it just happens. It happened to me once, but I hit the post on
that
run. Either way, the
current WR can be beaten with both strats, but it is likely to be
impossible
to beat without both
bananas above the goal.
Current Record: 10970
Finish: 52.85
Bananas: 4
Difficulty rating for 10800:
3/5
