| We all know why Mario's overalls are blue, why he has a big nose etc. and if you don't, then check out google and find out yourself. The following is more "Did You Know" facts that very few websites have discovered about Mario/Mario related games. | ||||||||||||
| Mario Golf 64 Intro Did you know that the music to the intro movie in the NTSC version (American) is completely different to the PAL version? The voices and actions of characters are exactly the same - except the music for the American version was too repeatative, and the PAL version has more of a "tropical" theme when playing. The tropical theme is also in time with characters action. Voices Did you know that in Mario Party 1 & Mario Party 2 - all the voices of each character (except Mario) are completely wrong? The only reason Marios voice stayed the same is because people would notice a difference if the main character had a different voice! Its interesting though, that Charles Martinet was there in the credits! Who could forget Luigi's "I'mmm the best" - yuk! Did you know that Luigi has two voices? Luigi's first voice starred in Mario Kart 64, Mario Golf 64 and Mario Tennis 64. Many would remember the famous quote in Mario Tennis 64 "Luigi not afraid!" in the intro vid. Luigis voice changed in Mario Party 3 (the voice we know today) in preparation for Luigi's Mansion. Nintendo wanted a more "cowardly" voice, so the change was made. Charles Martinet did both voices. There are also rumours that you couldn't "scream" in the deep voice (Luigi screams alot in Luigi's Mansion) Did you know that the voice of Mario does the Super Mario Sunshine Intro? Charles Martinet - the voice of Mario, also does various other characters in Super Mario Sunshine. The most noticeable voice is the voiceover in the intro movie "Welcome to Isle Defino" - that's Charles! Wario's Voice Did you notice the slight differences in Wario's Voice recently? Nintendo made games have Wario's voice as a "deep italian" accent. Such as in Mario Kart Double Dash, and more recently Super Mario 64 DS. However, Intellgent system made games (Wario Land 4, Wario World and Warioware series - more recently Warioware Touch), have Wario's voice at a higher pitch. Both voices are done by Charles - so as to whether who is right or wrong (and when the change was made), who knows! However, there were very little "new voice" sayings in Warioware Touched when compared to other Warioware series (just cut and paste from other games), so maybe Nintendo has the upside. But i prefer the Intellgent systems voice - I love Wario's Laugh! and his 'Exxxcellent!' Mario Party 4 When winning the fast food mini game (the game which involves plates spinning around in circles, and you have to pick up the required plate), try and make sure you are on the RIGHT hand side table. When you win, there will be a close up of the characters jumping up and down - look right and observe the poster....you will see Toad's Japanese name! Super Mario RPG in Australia Did you know that Australia and New Zeland never received Super Mario RPG? Games from America are usually shipped over to Australia after 2 weeks - but this would of meant Mario RPG Clashing with the N64 "Coming Soon" Promo - so Super Mario RPG never made it down under. Its interesting to note, that in 2005, The GameBoy Advance is still seeing games released even though the Nintendo DS has already been established! Nintendo did not have that style of thinking a couple of years ago! |
